The quarter for the use of the cart is pure GENIUS, your quarter is returned when you return the cart, the carts are ALWAYS available, and never cluttering the parking lot!
I love how far Aldi has come! I remember as a child, Aldi was almost entirely canned goods, processed foods and boxed dinners. Little to no produce and limited meat. They're now in the same league as Trader Joe's or Sprouts. Love it
Worked at ALDI when I was in college. Food is always fresh bc of high turnover. Food hardly ever sits in the back for very long. They were good to me, plus I had benefits & a 401k w matching as a part time employee. I’m grateful for ALDI.
The quarter for the cart isn’t “cheap.” First, you’ll get the quarter back when you return the cart. Second, the carts last longer when they’re not abused in the park lot, and, Three, Aldi saves money by not having to hire a lot attendant to fetch up those carts 🛒. Four, no feral carts to hit your car. Aldi does all sorts of cool things that save them thousands every day in operating costs. This savings goes directly to the consumer, which is a different business model than most American companies where the savings in operations goes to profit the stockholders. You can buy a little key fob that has a slot to keep your quarter. Rest assured that your cart will be in excellent condition without wonky wheels and parking lot dirt. Everyone wins!
I'm in Germany at the moment, home of Aldi - here the cart usage is not .25 cents, it's 1 Euro! which is equivalent to $1.14 - however, yes, you either get it back when you return the cart, but they also have chips available to use instead
I agree, i am from Italy and all the carts are with coins, when i came here in the us i was shocked by all the people who left the cart in the middle of the parking lot , they like to complain when a parking spot is taken by a cart but they are the first who don't put it back in place, all stores should have the carts with the coins.. it would teach a lot of people to be civil
I think it’s brilliant that Aldi’s charges for their carts. The main reason was to keep them out of the parking lot. Who knew people would abide so easily to get their quarter back. More stores should implement this
They are NOT charging for their carts! It's a deposit. Here, in Germany, you have a choice of using 50 Cents, 1 Euro or 2 Euros. I usually use 1 Euro ... because I'm a bit worried that a 2-Euro cart might disappear without me if I don't watch it ;-)
@@Petra44YT Does anybody in Germany add the - 's - to the word ALDI like Joan Peters? I think it's a renaming disease here in the USA. Possessive use of 's is ok. Way too many people say "I love ALDI'S".
This is funny because I Came Upon This video and I'm sitting in Aldi's parking lot getting ready to go in.. How about that ?? I really like this young man he seems very knowledgeable about a lot of products and he's being upfront. I like this young man's voice I also like because he's speaking very clearly and he's looking into the camera like he's speaking to you all of us thank you for an informative video.
hi bobby I discovered u bcoz I have diabetes 2 and I was looking up healthy foods to lower my blood sugar thnx so much ur vids have shown me what I can and cannot eat I'm definetly going to try ur chicken and rice recipe x
These videos are pure genius. They’re super helpful and I love how you compare multiple stores and prices. I also love how everytime you pull up an ingredient you recommend buying, a recipe of yours shows up to refer to. Great editing and thanks for the helpful information! I love grocery shopping so much but this helps to understand what I should and shouldn’t be buying while also watching my spending!
Aldi is our go to shopping place! We love it there! They have mostly everything we need there. In the beginning I was a bit hesitant to try the miscellaneous items, paper towels, aluminum, sandwich & freezer bags, etc., and once we tried it we realized it’s all the same, maybe better! And saves us money too!
I've shared these segments with so many friends and family members. We're appreciative for this guidance due to so much misleading information about what is truly healthy. There's such a misconception of what is in fact "health friendly" for us to consume, or if it's budget friendly to aspire towards. I literally grabbed my pen and paper to take notes. Thanks so much for this.
@@BobbyParrish almond milk is a lie. Most only have 6 almonds at the most and filled with garbage ingredients. Mostly water and fillers (to make it similar in nutritional content to skim milk). Not only that, almonds have the most pesticide residue (HIGHER THAN CORN) of round up / glyphosate, even higher than Oats
Everyone is so right about the quarter for the cart at Aldi's … All stores should do it... At our Aldi's everyone is always passing their cart off to another person and not taking their quarter. I love doing it and always just say, "pass it on". Love it!!
It's so easy people. 4 letters. Basic school English rules apply of course. Spreading incorrect grammar at any age can be done at home but in public and online, please do the right thing.
Ugh last time I saw a lady taking carts from people saying she will put it up for them and keeping the quarter for herself. It's only quarters but she made a good 7 dollars while I was watching. Who knows how much she made all day
I just stumbled across this video and loved it! I really like how you break all the prices, terminology and nutrition down. I will definitely be doing some binge watching!!
Hello. I have been such a fan of aldis for years now. I remember when they would only take cash or People’s food stamps card thing. I also remember when their vegetables were avoided by people for such poor quality. Now when I go there I see people of all many backgrounds shopping there. And their range of foods and quality has definitely improved. Good on Aldis for that. Thanks for the informative video. :)
Yes hello I have been going shopping at Aldi's for 3 years close to my home I'm Miami and very happy too I can't complain about quality, prices and employees make me feel at home too. If anything I can be reached thruFB too Aida S. Huertas my face and my Bettyboop profile picture will be there on top or change every month too. Have a good night Cheyenne
I’m in Connecticut and started shopping at Aldi because if their produce, lol. In other grocery stores, the fruits and veggies aren’t wrapped. You bag the quantity you want. I far prefer that it’s packaged since I witnessed a child pick his nose then touch a display of loose apples. My Aldi always has good quality, fresh, PACKAGED fruits and veggies. It’s interesting how regional these things can be. 🤗
One problem I have with Aldi's is that their prices are not always posted for the product, esp for the fruits and vegetables. I do not buy something if I do not know the price before I get to the check-out counter.
I can't wait until the Aldi 20 minutes away from me becomes this store... I live 70 miles from St. Louis Missouri and unfortunately my Aldi isn't even half of the items in it. Sad... I want to be as healthy as I can afford.
Don’t even know why I am watching as Aldi in Australia doesn’t have half those items and they’re all different brands anyway, but can’t stop as I’m finding it so interesting! At least it makes you more aware to read the labels of “organic” things!
@@chrystalsummerfield1859 Hi Chrystal, my Aldi does have cashew and sunflower seed butter. I live in a big city and have to go to the right Aldi's to get it.
ALDI is a German company. European supermarkets nearly all require you to put a coin in so that you can get the shopping trolley out. When you return the shopping trolley you get your coin back. It is done to stop people leaving the trolleys in parking spaces so you have to get out of the car to move them, because people are too lazy to take the trolley back, or even throw them in rivers or take them home. It's nothing to do with being "cheap". The shopping trolleys cost hundreds of dollars to replace.
Patti Bullock hello but not sure IF EGGLANDS BEST are ORGANIC, but that’s what I PREFER, COSTCO , STOPPED SELLING THEM LONG TIME, so In STORE 320 UNION NJ, they had 24 eggs , in a styrene case , so you could see them, well that WAS THE LAST TIME I buy COSTCO EGGS, Why? Every egg,,was fertilized, and each egg had BLOOD IN EACH . CHEERS FROM NJ🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Don't they taste far worse tbat the organoc you can even tell buy the yolks. I always used to buy the conventional ones until I noticed they didn't taste tok good I bought the organic one day because they were out of the conventional and wow what a difference in taste! I only but the organoc ones now
Balkan Artists .... You should be proud, Aldi is fantastic! .... My only problem with them is they are a private company and I can’t buy stock in them. 😩
@@hernje yes I do understand. Its all the same all around the world with aldi. I miss american items sometimes. We don t have american stores here. By the way thaks for your videos and recipes. i will cook some of these this weekend and enjoy it :-)
Wow, this is some very informative information. I've been shopping at Aldi for around 20 years now. Most people don't realize how long Aldi has been around. I will be more aware of what I purchase on my next trip. Thanks for sharing.
Randi MacDonald I agree. And someone once told me never ever get lemon in your drinks. Always ask for it on the side (lines too). Often they are not washed before sliced and put in your drink
I think there might be a website that lists companies that are trying to harvest palm oil in a sustainable manner and respect for harvesters. I'd have to look around again to find it, but if you look at the label of some un-butters, you can track down info via the web, taking you all the way back to the source and maybe find the sustainers that way.
@@susanwoerner1619 Vice News did a story about this problem. It was HORRIBLE on every level. I highly recommend this station. Both the cable and the HBO iterations. Best to check the labels before you buy. Just don't buy anything with palm oil.
We just got an Aldis in our town. So far I've been pleasantly surprised. There are only two people in my family so I avoid the big box stores. Many of the items I buy at Walmart I can get at Aldis for a much better price.
Please don't spread fake spelling of corporate names. I see you took the liberty to rename the store. Adding S or 'S is not cool. Possessive use of 's is ok. But the store name has only 4 letters. ALDI.

Literally just came home from Aldi and I came away with some really good things! The trout and salmon are so, so fresh! The extra version olive oil is great & the avocados are so cheap! I Love them. 😊
Don’t understand why I have not been watching Bobby until now! He is very knowledgeable and want to help in anyway possible for what we eat! Thanks Bobby for your support for all of us!
I have shopped at Aldi's for years. I like that they are going to the more healthy foods. Thank you so much for the great information on what not to buy and waste my money. Thus is very helpful.
Pris Penzo I love sprouts for their produce more than anything else! It seems that the prices and quality are better than regular chain grocery stores. We’ll see if a review proves me wrong.
Yes, I was always up n the air ...about eggs with the cage-free / organic thing... how would we know if itʻs cage-free are organic along with otherʻs foods as well?
I just chanced upon your video. And then few more. And man, you are so good ,so detailed. Thank you for the efforts you put in ,in every video of yours. Great work..!!
You do know that Aldi sud is the parent company of Trader Joe's :) And on having to deposit .25 for a cart... well that's a european thing (Aldi is of German origin) where it encourages you to put back your cart after your finished vs. leaving them all over the parking lot. (In France it typically required 1 euro (think of it as a $1, so heck ya, push it back :) )
You're right that in Europe you pay to rent the cart but I think most people there would return the cart anyway. Everybody brings their own shopping bags.
They do that in some supermarkets in the UK too. The ones where you have to pay for trollies, get put back in the right place. However, the places where you don’t need to deposit £1 for a trolly, means you find them dumped all around the car park and even the streets.
Trader Joe’s has the Teeny avocados. They come 6 in a pack. They always ripen in two days. They are good for smaller portion and aren’t wasteful. I love them. I can plan the week.
I love Aldi, they have some cracking deals and it amazes me that they can do the prices, (my Mum said " don't shop at Aldi, they're squeezing out the National Supermarkets (( Im in the UK)) I said ! I cant afford NOT to shop at Aldi and 2..maybe our National Supermarkets should stop ripping us off!!...anyway..thank you for the "buys & avoids"
I heard they are cheap at great cost to their employees though. Way overworked and underpayed/understaffed. All to keep overhead costs low for themselves with which they pass those savings on to customers.
@@aznsmazn7321 tell me another grocery store that pay their staff the same as Aldi.....none !. They pay way more than Kroger, Walmart, and similar stores.
@@joarmstrong4105 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bfSFLyJqXfs.html They do pay well. It just sounds like their workers get overworked. For that reason it seems they get paid well at a cost of being overworked. Just my personal opinion after watching the above video. If all aldi employees love their jobs at their payrate then good for them!! Keeps products cheaper for us customers when there are less employees working!
@@aznsmazn7321 I think what it is is that they are paid well, but as all rounders..not JUST shelf stackers or checkout operators..they do a bit of everything...I Love Aldi :)
Wow!!! This is the best series along with your Budget Meal Prep series! I never went to Aldi's even though there's one near me but we are going to check it out today! Thanks so much for the info! Keep these series coming!! Hope there's even Trader Joe, Costco, Aldi's part two!!

LOL Didn't know you could determine if the Mother was actually included by looking at the bottom. Came here to get a great grocery haul but got allot of informative healthy information I didn't know before. 1 of my favorite videos now. I will take these notes with me the next grocery purchase. Don't have a trader Joe's in my state sadly but im hooked up now at Aldi ♥️
I used to feel the same exact. I actually saw keto as nothing but a placebo trend. I used to be heavily involved with the occult and when I used to work at an Ayahuasca/Iboga/rapè retreat with shamans, EVERYONE there were hopping on either the vegan waggon, vegetarian or keto diet. I noticed all the vegans and vegetarians I knew were aging quickly and horribly due to not adding in enough supplements. They were also becoming very depressed and not even realizing that the meat substitutes they were eating were full of bad ingredients. The keto dieters I knew looked the healthiest and seemed overall happier. Anyway, long story short...I had gotten really mentally scarred from working at an Ayahuasca retreat and after I decided to leave and NEVER look back, I had also started experiencing these feelings of anxiety when I'd hear any words that I overly heard at this retreat. Words like "enlighten" "conscienceness" "vegan" "foodie" "goddess" "love and light" "soul sister" and yes.....even "keto" Hardly anyone there was keto. It was mainly vegans that were hanging on their last thread of health and constantly getting sick. Anyway, that's why for years, I refused to try keto because it triggered me in a weird way and made me shake and sweat being blasted into the memory of my past at the retreat. Long story short, my all American diet was making me lethargic, giving me mood swings, throwing off my hormonal balance, causing inflammation, irritating my arthritis and other symptoms so I decided to mix it up. I started a mix of all American diet with adding it days of eating healthy. It did help, but not really all that much. I was still thrown off. So about 70 days ago, I decided to do the carnivore diet, which has helped me tons and after the 90 day challenge, I will be starting keto. I have slipped up a few times on my new diet and I have found that when I stick to it, I have great energy, my ace isn't fat and puffy and my back doesn't hurt. On days I've had dairy and caffeine, it never fails...the next day, my face is redish and puffy and I don't feel as good. So a strict diet works greats and it gets easier over time. After 45 days, my cravings for sweets and carbohydrates completely went away and now it's super easy to fast on my day of fasting and I don't even feel hungry. I've lost weight and am back at the weight my doctor told me I should be at. I'd add more but it would take too long.
I love that he compares the prices. For someone who relies on Aldi because we do not have trader Joe's or a whole foods it was helpful to see the items that are great to eat but just cost a bit more.
Thanks Bobby, that is some great information. I'm 63 and trying to watch unnatural ingredients, carbs and transfats in foods. This is truly suggestions I can use.
I've found a new use for the very reasonably priced carts. I take the sturdy wheels off, throw it he cart away, and put the wheels on the frig., Washing machine, dryer, etc, in order to roll out them around and easily clean under them. So convenient. Thank u Aldi!
I live in Germany and everybody buy in aldi. They have quality no name products. The owners From aldi nord and south, always count of quality products and items. For sure I am going to buy in an aldi in my next visit to California!
Well Lidl introduce also other brands like, knorr, melita Coffee, nívea, etc. Years later aldi too.. I LOVE to buy in penny larges box of dishmaschines tabs, or big boxes of laundry detergent. I prefer aldi because is close to me but like to buy things that aldi doesnt have!! Wünsche Ihnen einen Schoennen Tag!
Since Trader Joe's and Aldi are sister companies, some of the products are the exact same, only with different graphics/brand on the packaging. e.g. The regularly available sweet potato and exotic chips are identical but less expensive at Aldi. Unfortunately, most of the TJ products at Aldi are only offered for a limited time = need to shop at Aldi regularly and stock up.
Nyx773 hello, but I have NOT been to TRADER JOE , as yet, but ALDI IN NJ. IS A FLAMING DISASTER, NEVER ANY REASON TO SHOP IN ONE, THEIR STOCK IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT YP ANY OTHER STATE. ,. Cheers From NJ🇺🇸🇺🇸
That's not being cheap. They figure you won't run off with the hella expensive basket (some people do) if you want your quarter back and you pay for bags to keep costs down. It works. Some of us really appreciate the discounts.
I have never seen mess made of shopping cards or shoping cards hitting cars at aldi. Im very fine with bags too. I see kids lov to return cards and get 25 c back:D
Harrrgh that’s not why they do it. They do it to cut down on labor costs so there aren’t employees in the parking lot corralling shopping carts every fifteen minutes
lazy ferret obviously. You just proved my point. There’s no carts laying around because customers put them back to collect their 25 cents. This keeps labor costs down
We've had the coin slot system for shopping trolleys, in Europe, for many years. It works perfectly. Most people use a metal token, with a fob, that you carry on your key chain. It's neat, efficient, and convenient.
Hopefully you visit the store soon and look at the sign carefully. it's a shame when comments are read by people that are a little bit mushy in the brain and believe what they read. There has never been and never will be "s or 's" in the name ALDI. Just 4 simple capital letters.
I frequent Aldi regularly! They have excellent prices on Macadamia Nuts & pecans here in Texas! Their frozen riced cauliflower is the least expensive around! Keeping it Keto!
Hi, i’ve seen other youtubers shop at Aldi’s & not get kicked out. The staff simply asked what they were doing. I love this sort of videos. Please keep it coming.
I'm a new member of the Keto community and LOVE your grocery Hauls! Maybe everyone else already knows, but who is ART? A friend, family member, employee?? I love watching both of you conversing as you try to educate us at the grocery stores!
Love love love ALDI, but avoid using their cream cheese to make homemade cream cheese frosting or cheesecake. The texture is more gritty than smooth when used for the aforementioned items. But, seriously, ALDI is the bomb.
This is the first video I've seen from your channel. I saw it was in reference to Aldi's so I clicked on it and boy am I happy I did. I have learned so much, especially surprised I've been eating wood pulp via the 'parmesan in the green bottle' delivery system. 😁 I'm looking forward to the other videos on Trader Joe's and all of the Keto recipes and info. I've subscribed & loving the channel. Thanks for all of your work, video quality & content. 💕
I do the majority of my shopping at Aldi. I love their stuff. I can't believe you didn't mention the goat cheese though. The price is ridiculously good compared to anywhere else I've found it.
The green bottle cheese thing was eye-opening! I have always heard that the powdered stuff is bad, but nobody else explained that it has *wood shavings*!
I'm shocked they are allowed to even put that in there, i mean if you look at a box of tissues it says 100% cellulose and they put it in freakin cheese! we were basically eating small portions of tissues.
it's not really wood shavings... it's a polymer of glucose commonly found in plant cell walls. so we eat it all the time it's also called indigestible plant fiber. it's added to cheese to prevent clumping. it's not toxic in those quantities.
only get cold pressed olive oil, no grape seed oil. Palm oil is bad for you. Buy Gluten free pancake mix that has rice flour, not bean flour. Make sure eggs say 100% pasture raised v. cage free. Avoid powdered chicken broth or boullion as has MSG in it. Buy chicken or beef stock. Buy 100% grass fed beef or bison. All spices here are cheaper at Aldi. Dont buy parmesan in green bottle as it has wood pulp in it: buy fresh.
I love watching you. I have checked out some of your videos and have learned a lot. I printed out several recipes and plan to make them this week. Thanks so much.
I always tell people who look down on aldi that its the SAME store as trader joes! Here in the youngstown ohio area we have to drive an hour for a whole foods or trader joes, but really there are a lot of perfectly good choices at aldi and they are CHEAP
So i stumbled upon this video somehow... and i am soo glad i did. You have earned yourself a new sub! I love how informative you are regarding not only healthful choices for food but for price comparisons as well! Awesome job:)
I returned to shopping @ Aldi's because I needed to cut my food budget! My local store recently got a huge facelift, and I love it! I have never seen the grass fed & finished beef OR bison... And how can I have that brought in??? They also do NOT carry the Kerry Gold butter??? I bought Beef ribs for an incredible price, AND Sirloin Roast for 3.99 a lb. I have to travel 20- 30 min on the highway to get to the nearest Trader Joe's... So... Market Basket is 1 mile from my house, and their prices are the lowest in the state, AND the Italian cheeses they sell are Italian. Two weeks ago avocadoes were over $1 each, last week, back down to $.69. I do wish they would carry more organic greens too!
