It’s been great! Wasn’t sure how I’d feel with the replica but the quality is much better than expected. Super comfortable and it’s the perfect fit for my office style
Great office setup! I’ve been looking to upgrade my workspace, and I will buy the ergonomic office chair from Sohnne. It will be a game-changer for my back and productivity.
Thank you for the info! I have had a Flexispot desktop manual raising desk for years and I love it! I tend to move around the house to do my writing, so it is awesome to have a Flexispot that can go with me from my desk, to the dining table, to the coffee table, whatever. I also love the fact that I can stow it away when I don't need it.
I am a righty, but that left handed keyboard looks like it might be useful. No taking your hands off the mouse or reaching over with my left hand to the number pad.
Haha yeah I’m about to go and redo my setup when I install the new speakers, I was in a bit of a rush last year when I swapped desks and the cable management wasn’t my best work. Hoping to get a proper rack mount setup sometime down the road, gotta dive in and do some research.
I recently started selling stuff on eBay/depop and I don’t have a wireless printer so I have to connect my laptop to the printer. I still use it to print documents for a non profit I volunteer for, but that’s perfect for the labels. I ship something at least twice a week and I HATE having to print a label on paper that only takes up a quarter of the paper AND THEN I have to cut it AND tape it to the package. Never received complaints about labels from customers, but this would make my life easier
Having the adhesive labels straight from the printer has been really nice! Might now be worth it if you already have a printer but if you think you’d use it enough it’s been so convenient.
Man, I’m too short for the chair! lol. I’m around 5’3”. Always love your videos, Josh. They’re just so informative and I love the different brands/styles.
I’ll keep it in mind for future videos! Nothing too nice though, I’ve just got a starter setup with the Edifier speakers and an Audiotechnica LP60x. Works well enough until i can afford some upgrades!
Thanks for the support! Just checked and the link seems to be okay but the website is down for maintenance or something. Hopefully it’s back up soon, I’ll try to remember to check back later today
Thanks for the video. Do you have any recommendations for a portable keyboard and mouse that is good to prevent and relieve wrist and forearm pain? I’m a staff writer/sports editor at a newspaper and have been dealing with a high volume workload for the last year. Looking for options that could connect to my MacBook
I’m not entirely certain but I think most wrist and forearm pain would probably be caused by your seating angle/position more so than the mouse. Probably goes hand in hand though I’m sure, as far as comfort goes the mouse I mentioned is about as perfect as it gets, not too many well-shaped options that’ll be smaller that I’m aware of. For the keyboard I really like the keychron k3 max. Thinner profile mechanical so a bit better for travel, but not specifically for ergonomics or reducing pain. I know I’ve seen some keyboards on Linus tech tips and short circuit with some split designs and ergo focused layouts but I haven’t tested any of them. Sorry I couldn’t be more help! Hopefully someone else from the group might be able to chime in with some recommendations.
Hey Josh. Love your videos, been watching for some time. I have been in the IT/MSP space for 20 years doing massive 1-2PB storage solutions for schools banks etc. not looking for work or a “job” I would love to give you some advise on what drives, hardware with sneaky licensing costs to look out for. No shout outs, not looking for work. Just like what you do and would love to give you some professional advise so that we can continue to see more of this type of content :) Respond to this comment as to how I can connect with ya, if you’re interested that is. Otherwise, thanks for the upload.
Would love to chat about this more with you and see what you think of my longer term plans for a setup. Send over an email if you can! Jshfenn@gmail.com
@joshfenn I apologize I should have been more specific, the lounge. Looks very inviting. I think that would encourage me to do more reading than work however I'm willing to test that theory.
It doesn’t seem to be available anymore but here’s a link to it: amzn.to/4bqLFFr Pretty common style, I’m sure Amazon has a few other similar ones. Really nice to have for some added comfort when reclined!
The biggest problem with hardware dependant on a smartphone app is that they're doomed to an artificial death when the app is no longer supported and an OS update breaks the application. Then you need to track down an old Android phone and hope that you can find an old .apk to keep the hardware running. I have printers from the early 00s that still work on modern Windows.
Totally agree with you, that was my main concern and issue with it. It’s great otherwise though, I wish they would open it up for more universal functionality. The app works well at least, hopefully they stick around for the long term
Thanks! Currently I’m pretty much full time with RU-vid but also do freelance video and photo work on the side. Kind of flip flopped after Covid, most of my work was too public and work dried up
⚠Wash your hands after handling that printer paper. It has a very toxic coating (if its the same as the paper they use at cash registers). Read up about it. ⚠
