Irn Bru, was always named and spelled so. The taste is supposed to emulate iron girders, hence its one time tag line "Made in Scotland from girders", a light hearted nod to Scotland's industrial past. The only good tasting one is the original, and ideally served cold from a glass bottle, versus plastic. As kids we'd take the glass bottle back to the shop for a deposit refund, recycling goes way back. Diet and 'Extra' versions are so different tasting. It's largely regarded as a good hangover cure ! 😂 Look up some old Irn Bru tv ads on RU-vid, some are comedy genius. 😛
Nice train trip to Edinburgh i did say they had a lounge at Euston I am surprised how much it has changed since the 80s The dinning car looks really good I would have to go on that to experience it. Loved it when you told Karoline to turn the light out such a cute moment and her face when she took hold of the Iron Brew.
It's changed because in the '80s it was the BR stock but a few years ago Cal Sleeper bought new rolling stock from Spanish train firm CAF. Main difference today is that the better accommodation is en suite.
Thanks for sharing Jean! Yes they do and it’s brand new! Loved how we could chill in that guest lounge with the drinks and snacks before heading off 😍 We wanted to integrate our sleep masks from Manta Sleep quite smoothly but it was pure improvisation haha - we really had a great time during the whole ride so we hope you can see the energy ❤️
I agree with Karolina- I think Irn Bru tastes like bubblegum! It seems like there are so many opinions on the flavor though. Definitely the second national drink of Scotland after whisky!
We took the Caledonian Sleeper from London to Edinburgh in 2022. We thought it was such a treat to shower on the train. The train had to carry enough water, and I could hear the water whooshing about when I was lying in bed!
Yes that's pretty crazy! Everything was very well-maintained, super clean and honestly we felt so pampered with all the food options 😍😍 Loved the whole experience!
Irn Bru was once named Iron Brew, however, a name change to Irn Bru was nothing to do with being non-alcoholic - it didn’t contain Iron and was not brewed!
Really interesting RU-vid and great photography. Cal Sleeper is popular with foreign visitors who like the Scottish theme and who save on a night's hotel accommodation. But Cal Sleeper runs at a loss and that's why it was nationalised by the Scottish gov't last year (previous operator Serco handed back the keys).
Thank you so much Alex :) We wouldn't have expected that because the experience in itself is really amazing... so we hope the trips will be just as great because they deserve to continue 🎉🚂🏞️🤩
Wow you guys I think that hall way was the same size as a plane isle!! Even as little as Karolina is she barely seems to fit. Can’t wait for the video!!!
Haha the carriage hallway was quite narrow, but the cabin room was very well-planned! So we didn't mind that much :) Loved the whole adventure! As you can guess, our next video will be posted from beautiful Edinburgh ❤️🏴
That was not a Scottish breakfast , eggs , beans , bacon, tattie scone, lorne sausage (square) sausage ,haggis, black pudding, toast, is the true scottish breakfast. Love your channel xx
I have always been admiring people who choose sleeper trains/buses over daily travelling 🫣 but with the experience you have shown, no longer have I doubts it can be smooth, comfortable and time saving!! 🚂💺🙌🏼
Couldn't agree more! The Caledonian Sleeper was like the best adventure and an extremely comfortable train journey in one also we are sure that everyone would enjoy this experience very much ❤️
Totally agree with you on that, their trip to Liverpool, my home town was the first blog that I saw of theirs. The Liverpool blog was great (glad they liked my home city). They are very light-hearted, well spoken and seem like a lovely couple.
Did not the train company warn you to keep in the right half of the train cos it splits? 1st time to Aldershot in the 70's, the train split & only by chance was I in the right place! Gulp! Never experienced that before! Really interesting vlog guys.
We know haha, especially considering this summer has been the worst in years for the UK! So glad we could have such a nice day and vlog for you 🙏 It puts everything into perspective!
New subscriber from Australia here. I absolutely loved your video and look forward to your next one. Thank you for sharing your travels on the Caledonia Sleeper 😊
Welcome Anita! Thank you so much for watching :) Our next video is going to be uploaded from Edinburgh and then after couple of more ones from the UK, we're heading off back to Asia! So excited for it ❤️
Hi Jay i take it your British with your accent if so have you taken Karolina on the UK 's 2nd sleeper train, the night Riviera from London's Paddington station to Penzance? if you haven't then i would recommend you take her to travel on iit and go through Devon and Cornwall crossing the iconic Isambard Kingdom Brunel Bridge called Royal Albert Bridge which links Devon and Cornwall and stands between Plymouth and Saltash and spans the River Tamar,
That's once you've made it to a remote stand in the bus on the other side of Heathrow - your 'hand luggage' has been checked in because there's no room in the plane cabin, and you finally get a take off slot having missed the allocated one for all of the above! But yes - I've got to admit that I still do the plane for the reasons you have mentioned: Quicker and cheaper! 🤑
We weren't sure at first if we would like Haggis at all but at the ned we loved it 😍 So we needed to try it out also when in Edinburgh! There will of course be a super place serving the most authentic Haggis in the next video - so don't miss it Pamela!
I’m always thinking the same Susan haha - it’s called catastrophic thinking 🥲 [Karolina] Although them corridors are the same in any other trains with compartments so the design certainly meets the standards!
Having travelled from London to Edinburgh by train on a few occasions, the overnight thing seems a bit like overkill. I don’t think it took more than about 4.5 hours during the day - doesn’t seem worth being crammed into that tiny room and having a short night’s sleep! I suppose it might be worth it if going into the highlands.
It started moving unexpectedly whilst we were seating in the dining carriage, that’s why I was a bit surprised 😂 Overall the journey was super comfortable!
Yo, you guys went to Scotland before my trip there in December haha... enjoy my 2nd home there and go do a day trip tour in Isle of Skye and there is a dino museum there at Kilt Rock. Also, go visit Glasgow. P.S: my Scottish brother-in-law's mum makes one of the best short breads I've eaten and also, Iron Bru outsell Coca Cola in Scotland since it is their national drinks.
I could never stay in that miniscule compartment. There is compact and bijou ... and then there is downright claustraphobic. And those corridors are ridiculously narrow if 2 people want to pass in opposite directions. If I want a true sleeper train experience I will save up for the Orient Express thank you.
Why do people refer to this as a luxury train? It's pretty basic as overnight trains go, and if you take the seats it'll be the worst night of your life! The night riviera from London to Cornwall is better
Hey! I see where you are coming from. We like to keep things real and authentic and so we like to include the stuff that goes wrong or where we make mistakes. It’s not just Karolina I often make mistakes too and just leave it in because we want people to relate us and not be perfect all the time. There’s plenty of polished videos out there where you won’t see people’s true personality. Again you are entitled to your opinion!
Wow just wow, that bit of the video upset you so much you felt the need to comment on it. Perhaps you should take a break from RU-vid and have a bit of a reset.
