Get started with Odoo today: www.odoo.com/r/ax0 Thanks for watching, I have a very different cruise experience coming up next... can't wait to share :)
I had the EXACT same reaction. Like...look....I try to keep an open mind even with a service that has gotten poor reviews from others...but if THAT is their VIP lounge you have a sneak peek into the rest of your upcoming experience.
Hey, as a blind person, I just wanted to say how much I like this content. You were descriptive enough, but not too descriptive so I can understand what’s happening, and at the same time I have my own imagination guide me.
I'm no prude, but if I paid thousands of dollars for a suite advertised with a whirlpool tub and ended up in a room filled with mold, broken whirlpool, stale pastries, furniture that looks like it was sitting in standing water for months....I'd be so pissed. I'd demand some compensation. Seriously, that's sad.
i hope you do a whole WORST series! coaches, planes, ships, trains - cheapest and worst experiences to show what the majority of folks may deal with if they have to make a trip
@@tylerpemberton3134 Because you already paid a shitload for your ticket. And many of us have stopped eating out because of how ridiculous things cost now.
Holy *shit* I'd want every cent I'd paid back at every single level of this experience. What a nightmare. Will, you're a saint for continuing to be positive through everything. I was gasping the whole way, but the no air on the air hockey table broke me.
I've watched hundreds of these review videos and this is hands down the best one I've ever seen. You went in with no expectations, good or bad. You maintained neutrality across the board. When things were good, you mentioned them. When they were bad, you mentioned them too. And your parents were a great addition insofar as they offer a unique, innocent, and unspoiled view from a 'regular person's perspective. Great work, Trek Trendy!
You all remained gracious and cheery throughout which is commendable given the poor amenities. That really challenged me to check my attitude. Thank you.
I had a memorable cruise on this ship about six months into its inaugural season. At the time, this was marketed as the most expensive ($350 million) cruise ship ever built (on a per-passenger basis if I recall correctly) and it was spectacular in every detail. I think that was 1992. It had a sleek modern Italian aesthetic and was maintained impeccably. And, at that time, Costa provided a high-quality service experience. The customers were primarily Italian and many smoked like coal-refining stacks. I stayed in the suite on the starboard side that was closest to the bridge and our friends had the same suite on the port side. Those half-round balconies hanging over the water are still unique in the industry even if the ship isn't anymore. Thank you for the "trip."
This cruise gave me 80s old folks rest home vibes. At least the food was good sans your dads in room pastry breakfast. Love seeing your mum and dad with you.
@@tylerpemberton3134 What does your comment even mean? It makes no sense. You could not even afford [this is where you put the item you’re talking about] in the 80s.
Those "spa treatment rooms" gave me full on 1960's CIA MK ultra interrogation room vibes. I'm convinced Soviet spies have spilled the beans in those rooms at some point in history.
My dad passed away 3 weeks ago in August. My siblings and I have fond memories of the travels we took as a family. Will enjoy your travels with your parents. Precious memories I ❤ how you show your parents so much love and respect.I have so enjoyed your videos and content so far in 2024.
"The Italian-Portugese dictionary is probably the highlight" I laughed so hard. Thanks for that review and it's always lovely to see your parents, what an amazing couple :)
I went on that for a 2 night cruise on my birthday and had a wonderful time. I got an inside cabin (solo) and bought the VIP package. I had a wonderful time. Sure, the ship is smaller and older, but the employees are AWESOME. I stayed on the ship, went to the steakhouse for a perfectly cooked NY strip. The lunch buffet was very good, with a variety of food, from burgers and hot dogs for the kids to Indian dishes, roasts, salad, etc.... The MDR was very good the one night I ate there. Sure, there are no water slides or rock climbs and it might not be 100% kid friendly, but if you want to chill out for a few days, eat and drink good food, and enjoy some shows, it's great.
I sure am spoiled with Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines!! The new Margaritaville ship departs from near my home at Tampa, but I don't think I will take them up on any marketing offers. Sorry....
This is the Trek Trendy style I fell in love with some years ago! This is raw, talented journalism, amazing editing and traveling around the world to tell the powerful travel story ... Keep up the amazing work, Trek Trendy! 👍👍👍
The reason your jacuzzi tub was off was because I nearly died in suite 2004 last year. I was in the tub with jets going, I reached over to the metal handrail and it felt to be crazy shaking, I said to my husband hey the ship is shaking feel this, he reached over and felt nothing, I grabbed it again and still shaking, he said omg I THINK YOU'RE BEING ELECTROCUTED, I panicked and said WHAT OMG GET ME OUT OF HERE, he reached for me and a bolt shot out of/or off my leg and zapped him, he jumped backwards, I stood up and used a towel to wrap around my hand and use it to hold his shoulder to step out. I was shaking so badly and so scared and couldn't believe what had happened. We went to guest services who basically blew me off like it didn't happen, but when the mechanics came to the room to look at it they were all scared to touch it. I wanted to fill out an accident report but they claimed to not have one, the best I could get was a complaint form. They agreed to refund me the $670 we had paid for the upgrade (we had been booked ocean view, but my husband wanted to treat me to a suite so we upgraded once onboard), but they still basically acted like I was lying, this big tall woman was like the button has no power, the button has no power, couldn't shock you, I said IT WASN'T THE BUTTON, THERE WAS CURRENT IN THE WATER. I was sooooooooo mad. The next morning back at palm beach when we opened the cabin door to leave, the mechanics were there waiting. Those jacuzzi tubs are from 1991. I am happy to see yours was turned off. I contacted a few lawyers who basically all said I had no case as I was fine, but had I died, my husband would have had a case. I was so saddened by what had happened as we were big fans of this ship and had sailed it as Grand Classica several times. We haven't been back. We live in west palm beach and it had been our fun little getaway for years. We may return at some point, as we drive past it so often and I do miss it. I would just book ocean view with license to chill and not do the suite anymore. :(
So you received a mild electric shock and had to tell this stupid overly dramatic soap opera. No bolt of electricity “shot out of your leg”. Total BS. Why exactly couldn’t you just stand up like an adult and step out of the tub? You required a towel to “hold onto your husband’s shoulder?!??” Why? You are pissed that you couldn’t make big $$$ out of it?! Such an American Hysterical that you couldn’t find a lawyer to sue them. You are simply lying and no decent civil attorney was willing to put their reputation on the line for a lying Karen!
To be fair I don’t think you were being electrocuted not saying you weren’t but you don’t hold a conversation with someone while being electrocuted. If you grabbed the rail and were getting electrocuted your hand would have clamped down you wouldn’t have been able to let go. I do telco line work and I have seen some shit not a single time has someone had a conversation you would have been killed probably since you were in water. Even myself being hit with 90v/20a many times I have never said words while being actively hit. Since you were talking to your husband while submerged in water I doubt it. Not saying something wasn’t happening just not being electrocuted.
Your sarcasm level in this is so my humour...bet you were glad it was a short trip!! But you didn't totally slate it you did find positives i enjoyed this review and always good to see mum and dad❤
Looks a bit dire, but...... A holiday is what YOU make it , you can still have some fun , and have a laugh at your situation . Too hell with it a few drinks and it isn't so bad . Great vid, lovely to see mum and dad , lovely couple .
Wow! This was the first ship I worked on back in the 1990’s. And yes, I sold “gold by the inch”, which was supposedly 18 carat gold plated nickel. It came with a lifetime guarantee not to tarnish, but probably only lasted the duration of your cruise 😂. This brought back lots of crazy & fond memories. Thanks for doing this!
@@Trektrendy They seemed such good sports! You've treated both of them to some pretty epic journeys, so I guess a clunker every now and then is fair play. 😄
Never would waste a vacation cruising on margaritaville...but lovely to see you and your parents spending quality time together, nothing better than family! Best of luck brother.
First of all I thought with the price you pay for the cruise all the food was free. Second again for the price people pay for that ship you’d think they’d do major repairs and get rid of the mold. But it was only a 2 day cruise. The ticket price is crazy.
I have to say every video I watch with you and your mom and dad warms my heart ❤️ You are so lucky to have such a good relationship with them and your a great son !
I love all your videos with where you include your parents. You seem more relaxed travelling with them. Keep them close you as much as you can, and I hope your dad keep beating you at every game you play..
It was hilarious listening to your usual music and posh voice that usually plays while you are showing luxury experiences, and have it pan over the.... lack luster aesthetic of this cruise.. hahaha
I'm so glad to see a video with you and your parents together, and I'm happy you had fun... but MAN does that ship either need a refurbishment or just sink it for a reef builder and buy a new one!
Oh dear, that was a dismal cruise! It was lovely to see Ian and Julie, though. Millie didn't miss much on this occasion. Beautifully made as usual, Will. 🇦🇺
Looking forward to more of these. The US airline experience was great to watch. Most people dream watching your videos but staying within each individual's budget allows the viewer to pay slightly less for better accommodations.
I was thinking the exact same thing. If there's that much mold everywhere the eye can see, just imagine the state of the kitchens and food refrigerators... employee quarters, bathrooms, mechanical rooms....
To a first time cruiser they wouldn’t notice these outliers you pointed out but to a veteran cruiser who has been in haven suites Norwegian 26:00 royal Caribbean etc the entire experience is absolutely filthy wow 🤯 thank god it was 2 days 😢
Anything can be made seaworthy again. Just takes effort and money. The layout of this ship would not make it worth it with only a few balconies and so little space, but a 2000+ ship would be worth a full retrofit. I remember in 2012 and 2020 cruise ships like this were literally selling for.... one MILLION dollars!! Muaaaahahahahaha!
A bad cruise made for a very good video. In my family we tend to talk - and laugh - more about travel disasters of yesteryear than the smooth trips. So I think you have made some special memories with your mom & dad.
I was laughing so hard entirely throughout this episode😂😂 You had to voiceover and put all your luxurious soundtracks over these horrendous conditions 😂😂 well thanks for this and you and your parents might have well spent a memorable trip nonetheless 😂😂
Thanks Will, me and my partner sit down to watch your uploads every other Sunday. Bit of a tradition in our house now to round weekend off before working week.
The library and the art supplies. 😂 It would be interesting to see you review more budget friendly holiday options for those who want a getaway but don’t have $$$$$ at their fingertips. Although, love the luxury travel.
Wow...the upkeep on that ship is horrendous. And the dirty dishes all over is just not acceptable. Having said that, the food sounds good and it gave you a few days to spend with Mum and Dad. I really admire the way you make them comfy in the room, giving them the bed while you sleep on the couch/bed. This is not the first time and I commend you on the respect you show your parents. BTW...another great vid, regardless of the ship itself.
NO CAP almost died on this cruise for "heroes sail free" because our room only blew out heat, no A/C. They would not even offer a complimentary bottle of water!!!!
I loved this Will. You were very courteous and fair, but the comedy shone through. Much as I love seeing 5 star luxury, you can't beat the worst for entertainment value. 😂
Oh my gosh I've been hoping you would try Margaritaville at sea! 🤣 I never thought you would because of all the luxury travel you do, but this is an awesome surprise! Thank you for all you do for our entertainment! 😂
Hi watching from the beautiful island of saint Lucia in the Caribbean 🇱🇨.My sister is from the united kingdom 🇬🇧 and i just want to tell you to keep all the good work up love your video's it just makes me feel alot better😊😊
It's a veritable legend---and not in a good way. I'm surprised that they're not doing a Weekend at Bernie's deal with Buffett and charging $100 for a photo.
It’s only been around less than 2 years. They have a second used cruise ship they recently started sailing, which from what I hear isn’t any better than this one
Thanks for taking the cruise to remind us of cruises that well you have to ask yourself do I really want to take this cruise 🤔. Great to you see back again for another great video!
I love it when youtubers treat their parents to things ❤️ I'd love to take my mom on a riverboat cruise one day. She's scared of ocean cruises, and those tend to be a bit too loud for me anyway.
Yikes. My avid cruising Parents just got back from a Royal Cab cruise from Baltimore to Bermuda and say they’ll never cruise again. Complete with an air show from the USCG helicopter rescue.
Last time I shared a room with my parents on a trip, I was woken up around 1am from the sounds of my parents "wrestling" safe to say I'll never split a place with them again on future trips 😂
Be careful what you wish for. My bro and his friend did an "Easy Cruise" some years ago. Stelios was actually on board and made the captain change departure/arrival times to suit him and his personal guests. Bro said the Woolwich Ferry looked more upmarket and they had to pay extra for every bit of food and drink, too. They couldn't wait to spend their days ashore just to get off the ship.
i was so relieved at the point when the boat turned around and went back to florida. you announced that it was a 2 night cruise and i shouted at my laptop, THANK GOD!
