Kira Queen In Crystal, you can't get Mareep family. Only in Gold and Silver. Girafarig, Mankey family, Vulpix family and the Remoraid family also aren't available.

The Purifier 1. Learns no electric moves in GSC without TMs 2. It's Magneton 3. Some of its stats are crappy (same with the Mareep line but still)

The Purifier yea just FREAKING NO. What about Electabuzz, Pikachu line and Raikou?! Omfg dude..... Magnemite does learn Thundershock via level up but I have to wait until late game before finding ANY electric type TMs! Think I'll just uninstall Crystal soon and replace it with Gold! Mareep helps against Falkner after level 10 anyway! And learns better moves via level up!

The Purifier YOU SON OF A BITCH. Mareep is reliable but Falkner is a cakewalk even with Chikorita cuz it has a lot of defense (I know every single type weakness, SHUT UP!)! I do know a lot about their stats and all that, don't you shit on me! Also, getting Thunderbolt requires a lot of grinding with gambling devices!

Their fleeing isn't the same thing, so fast ball wouldn't effect it even if it did work correctly.

Crystal/Gold/Silver was made by just 4 programmers. Considering that they had some brilliant ideas that worked as intended (such as breeding) its kinda funny that they're were so many oversights in easy programming fixes like the Pokeball

The biggest mistakes made in Pokemon Crystal were: 1) Taking out Cerulean Cave 2) Taking out Seafoam Islands 3) Removing The Safari Zone All HUGE ERRORS!

Favourite moment of Crystal. When you get the first egg that can evolve into a selection of pokemon. Was praying for Elekid as no mareep. Not only that but turned out to be a shiny. So happy

People saying that the biggest mistake was removing Mareep from the wild, but the real mistake was not moving the Johto Pokémon found exclusively in Kanto to Johto. Slugma, Murkrow, Houndour, etc. like wtf!?!

I encountered a glitch in crystal when the game first released that I could never find an answer to. I went thru the whole game, kanto included, and fought every repeatable trainer I could to level up all my mons to 100. In viridian city, there's a trainer in the basement of a building that you could challenge once a week. I don't remember his name but I know that he had only the 3 johto starter evolutions all at level 50. I went there every week. One week I went there and everything was normal except when the battle started, it said "trainer Green?Green?Green?Green?Green?Green?Green?(repeated Green till it overflowed outside the text box) wants to battle" and his first pokemon was a lvl 0 primape. The game would then freeze after primeapes cry. I could never find out what caused this nor could I replicate it. Would that be worth investigating?

A correction on the duplication glitch, in crystal you have to do it a split second after the period because they attempted to fix it in crystal(or at least tried to hide that it was a thing)

same (but I abandoned Chikorita when it evolved). Also useful for resetting and catching other one-time Pokémon multiple times.

A personal favorite I found(idk if it's in crystal, but it is for sure in silver) If you use counter or mirror coat against a pokemon that was full restored or hyper potion ect. it does damage equal to the heal within 85-100% damage. Something super odd, but interesting on damage calculations.

In crystal to duplicate your starter Pokémon you have to reset the game about half a second after the last period appears. It’s different from G&S. I wasted a lot of time because I didn’t know that😅

Nick Danen You are not the only one. I spend hours duplicating the starters until I learned to reset the game after the period in the save. Anywho, Crystal is my first game. Have not played Blue, Red, or Yellow. Emerald is my first Pokemon game.

It's just super tricky, basically it's a bit more than 3 seconds after answering yes to overwrite. With starters it can be long after figuring out that it didn't work and having to do it all over again.

So I will tell you about a glitch that happened to me and considering the vast amount of youtubers who are searching for these things, it might be useful to share it. I had an american version of crystal long ago. And if I remember well my starter was a Cyndaquil or a Chikorita, I don't remember really well. Now, somewhere around Olivine City something weird happened. I probably accidentaly activated a glitch and my pokemon evolved from my starter to a Jynx. Then I remember that I proceeded with the game until the pokemon got poisoned. When poison would hit the pokemon, it would lose all its HP and when it would lose it, it would go back to full life and keep losing HP, causing me to restart the game. As I have said, it has happened long ago and I didn't even realize how I triggered the glitch. I just found it noteworthy for those who are still playing and investigating the games and I just hope that one day I might see what really happened that made me believe that my game was problematic.

You missed the biggest glitch.... if you name your boxes very specific arbitrary names, and deposit your starter, while its saving shut off your game and only some of your starters stats transfered, the game is then in a glitched state where it exexutes the code which was the names of the boxes and when you walk out the next door you are in the final cave, you talk to the guy and the credits roll. Takes 10 minutes to beat Crystal with the glitch

Love gen 2. When I was 8 years old my parents got me a game boy color and silver version for my birthday. And I later saved enough to buy crystal. Unfortunately I can’t play either anymore as the save battery died and no matter how many times I did the electric tape and watch battery thing it just didn’t last. I’m almost 30 now and I still hate that

I bought a Crystal reproduction, it looks awesome and everything is the same, but as soon as I got the Pokedex and opened it, it said I have seen 117, and caught 86 pokemon. Some of them were even mew and celebi. I don't want this i just want to play legit. I have no idea if there is a fix to this.

In gold and silver you can make your pokemon a celibi with coin case glitch and you can make it shiny by another coin case glitch and to cause it you have to name all 8 of your boxes in a sertan way

back when I first got crystal, after beating the game the first time, I would start a new game after my third or forth time starting a new game, after I received my starter, on the very first patch of grass I walked on a suicune came out, and I remember being mad because it was before the gave you your pokeballs

I noticed a glitch in the game. My shiny Dragonite can't be renamed. The game thinks it belongs to someone else. Strangely. The game is forcing me to breed another dragonite just to get it nicknamed.

I remember I lost my original Pokémon crystal and then found one in the ground one day when I was a kid and I recall being in the Forrest and celebi appearing to me by the mini house in the Forrest to this day I still don’t know how or why celebi appeared... all I know I was shocked when I was a kid lol

My copy of Crystal has an odd glitch where certain Pokemon are registered into the Pokedex when they're not. Even weirder is that the previous save file didn't even get to the part where it obtains a Pokedex to begin with! And even when I catch a Pokemon that wasn't "registered", the game still thinks I didn't catch it yet!

One of my favourite glitches in scarlet and violet is if you get a critical catch on a Pokémon and then try to catch the same species again immediately after, you're guaranteed a critical capture and it keeps going until you try to catch something else

It's called rushed production and only two programmers at the time, cramed both worlds gen (1 and 2) into a limited cartridge space and stuff. So ofc gen 1 and two are glitchy and broken and my favorite Gen 2 glitch is the coin case, which it's completely broken in Gen 2. And to get celibe, use arbitrary code. Which it's complicated.

In the original Pokémon Crystal for the GB my character changed Gender and Misdreavus where able to be foun right of Ecruteak city which shouldn't happen. All I can say is that my Pokémon Crystal was messed up big time and broken until this day. I had a Level 100 Suicune and I remember training my Lugia too.

On a old file from when I was like 13 (got the game when I was 10, I'm 27 now.) I kept cloning Chikorita. One of the clones came out knowing flame wheel and when I sent it out into battle after in evolved into Bayleef it looked like a Quilava and when it evolved again into Meganium it looked like Typholsion in battle. Also a little while after this happened a wire leading to the battery fried and the cart will no longer go past the game boy logo and the nintendo logo is a black line like when the cart is dirty.

The same thing happened to me with suicune and it looked like a wabbafet but knew the moves of suicune and you could breed it with another wabbafet I loved cloning pokemon when the game came out and I caught the suicune I used to clone it then trade it for money it was awesome I found the glitch by accident

FINALLY someone who also knows about the Celebi egg glitch. I have literally never seen this being mentioned anywhere on another video aboit glitches or even saw people commenting about it. Btw, with that same glitch you can also glitch-breed other Pokemon depending on the third attack the parent Pokemon have.

The Celebi Event inside Crystal is built into the game, it won't expire. You may be thinking of the free Celebi you get in S,M,US,UM by buying virtual Gold or Silver. That event distribution ends in September this year, with the time frame for redeeming codes ending in October of this year.

Sean Jackson Nope. Crystal just has the in-game Celebi that you get in that game. Buying virtual Gold or Silver has an event going on that gives you a code to redeem a Celebi in Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon, only.

Wait dod they remove the item double that they had in gold and silver? Put an item on a Pokemon deposit change box and turn off during the save. The Pokemon would be doubled one in your invatory and the other in the box. The items also doubled so you got lots of masterballs, nuggets and and rare candy.

I put my eevee and a ditto in the daycare and the next time I checked on the daycare they disappeared. Not in a box, just gone. Really sucks. Wanted an espeon. Now I have no eevee at all.

Turn Ditto shiny: 1. Catch the shiny Gyarados 2. Teach it 3 non-damaging moves (Leer, Tail Whip, etc.) 3. Transfer to Gen I 4. Use TM31 to replace the fourth move with Mimic 5. Encounter a wild Ditto 6. Before the Ditto can use Transform, use Mimic on it to replace Mimic in your learnset with Transform 7. When Ditto uses Transform, it will gain your learnset, including another use of Transform 8. Burn turns until the wild Ditto uses Transform again. This could take a few turns, which is why we made sure we have non-damaging moves. You can also switch out your Gyarados if you want. 9. After Ditto uses Transform a second time, catch it. 10. Transfer the Ditto back to Gen II. It will be shiny and you can use it to breed more shinies at odds of 1/64 I'm guessing what happens is that when Transform is used, the game takes Ditto's current stats, saves them to a separate location, then overwrites its own stats with yours. Then, when the battle is over, those separately saved stats then overwrite the main stats, restoring Ditto to its old self. However, when Transform is used a second time, Ditto's original stats are overridden with your own, and Ditto will obtain them permanently when the battle ends. Since shinyness is determined by stats in Gen II, this will result in a shiny Ditto.

I remember playing pokemon crystal where i got a glitch pokemon by cloning. I use the glitch as front pokemon and then something went wrong with the remaining party where they all changed into (bulbusaur, squirtle, charmander, kingdra, and some normal pokemon from 1st gen but only in name). But the sprite is the same as who really they are but when they evolve, they will completely switch to the glitched pokemon evolved form. Example, a pikachu glitched to bulbasaur, when it evolves, it will turn into an ivysaur. I even used the glitch to teach my pichu to learn all kind of HM coz basically, when they are glitched, they will be read as the glitched type.

The one thing I want a Pokemon game to have is the option to join the bad guys, whatever team it might be: another return of Team Rocket or a whole new team all together. Then have your rival be the one to try and talk some reason to you. Then when the last fight happens between said rival, two things will happen: either a) you win and the world crumbles under the new world order that the team created with the new legendary Pokemon at your side...or b) the rival beats you, with the player finally coming to his senses and becomes good with the next part of the game being the both of you taking down the evil team. But as the credits finish, you start back at your house with your rival running into the house getting you to help him with the said legendary Pokemon trying to destroy the world. You rush to the site with the leader of the evil team, who tried taking control of the Pokemon, on all fours saying that his team didn't stand a chance. So you and the rival rush to the legendary Pokemon and have the final showdown of the game, with the legendary Pokemon to be revealed as Mewtwo, with his own team to fight against (kinda like the first Pokemon movie). With you beating his team, Mewtwo loses control and then attacks you himself and the real final, final boss happens with you either capturing it or beating it. Also, with the Eevee-lotion being a fighting type. The design will be simply like the original Eevee, but slightly bigger, as if he was on steroids...and his tail will be a giant muscular arm constantly flexing

just so you know in gold/silver for a good clone you can reset ass soon as the white box appears - and anytime until the "." appears... (a bad clone is before the box appears but after you press A on yes - which is a really short time) in crystal it's after the "." (roughly half a second-second)

In regards to the cheat for getting all three starter Pokemon, what you didn't mention is that this cheat (and the Pokemon/item duplication cheat in general) is also available in Gold and Silver, just with different (and easier) timing.

How do you fix this glitch? You have a Pokemon with the moves and level, but it shows up as a different Pokemon instead. In battle, it shows up correctly, but on the status screen, it shows another Pokemon

I just beat Pokémon crystal using a level 30 execute using hypnosis on an aerodactyl that used hyper beam on my last Pokémon so I got to use hypnosis, reflect, leech seed, and then I spammed confusion, aerodactyl woke up but then leech seed killed it

My entire textures are glitched out, when you talk to someone in the game all the maps textures glitch out and the only way to fix it is to go into a building or something and come out, it also happens in battle, you cant tell what Pokémon your fighting and its hard to tell their health also all the text in battle is really hard to read.

I just discovered a glitch I was switch training my Abra I switched into the Machop from the trade. When switched in to the machpop it became Abra. I quit then came back and it is still Abra with teleport. I don't know what to do. I am so upset now.

Anyone knows how to fix a Bad Egg for Crystal? I got a "?????" Egg after cloning an egg when I received from Elms assistant at the Pokecenter. It acts weird and shows Kingdra holding an item.

Just do proper timing, its different in crystal. You have to wait a split second after the period then reset

They DID fix that in crystal. The cloning glitch is only in gold and silver

that's how...... in G/S you SR before "SAVING" complete, and you can use your lower screen to reset, however in crystal, you have to wait the whole thing to write, then count one two, then close ur 3DS, don't even use the lower screen reset.......

but it is not as easy as it sound, wait too long and the game will actually save, which then you have to restart your whole game, close your 3DS before the right time, and it will not worked, both cases happened to me, but if you do it right, it work, I can confirmed as I already have all three of them by now
