10 IKEA SHOPPING GEMS You Need To Know Before Shopping At Ikea 

I live in the Philadelphia area and members get half priced lunch and free coffee to boot on Tuesday’s in their cafe! (Free coffee is every day - not just Tues…) I love my IKEA trips and I use Mon’s arrive early on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday tactic. I will now be entering the store thru the exit door. Plus when I am leaving my vehicle will be near the door. Previously, I have parked near the exit door and entered through the entrance door! Thanks to Mon and Mars for these great shopping gems! Mars just has soooo much enthusiasm. He has just reminded me I could use a nap right about now and has inspired me to do so! Mars is THE MAN!

As a new subscriber who has never ever ever followed a social media designer / influencer I like your presentation and pace and your cheery disposition! I have always loved the "as is" section myself and even though I admittedly don't go there first I have purchased odds and ends and slightly dinged things because I don't care for "matchy-matchy"! I smiled when you mentioned the assembly service. It is called TaskRabbit here in the states and even though it was started by Ikea you can actually book directly now because it was such a success. Initially just to assemble Ikea furniture you can now have "taskers" help you with lite jobs, practically any other kind of service. And I definitely smiled when you mentioned this because I once helped a friend starting an Airbnb in Cabo San Lucas Mexico. We drove a small lorry with furnishings, mostly Ikea, down the entirety og the Baja peninsula and I specifically remember assembling 14 IKEA Malm beds! By the 3rd or 4th bed I had it down! _cheers_

Glad Mars is doing better, he is so sweet! Even though I'm not buying Ikea kitchen cabinets, I'm using the kitchen planner to play around with different layouts. It's pretty easy to use.

As someone who is recovering from a medical condition, the assembly service is godsend. and holy shit they worked so fast. It kinda pained me to pay for it and the extra fee to have the delivery people to carry my stuff up to my third floor apartment, but imo it's so well worth it. If you have no mobility issues, I'd say just still pay for the carry option if you ordered furniture.

Glad Mars is feeling better.❤ I managed to order and pay for a shelving unit in store the other week. I saw an employee near a till in the sofa section and she ordered it for me, arranged delivery, and let me pay there and then. I didn't need to queue at the exit tills.

You might want to mention that 'Click and Collect' has a fee attached.

I love IKEA but hate their shopping carts!!!! I always leave with a back ache and in a bad temper from wrestling with these strange carts that are impossible to control or to steer around corners. What in the world is up with the carts with all their wheels going in different directions???? I've been told they work better with some weight in them. Next trip I will put something heavy in while I shop then remove it before check out.

Mon always great advice! I so look forward to your videos! I’m definitely going to try hitting to As-is section first the next time I go. And doing the click and collect so I won’t stress about if there will still be stock left when I get there😬. And I too LOVE assembling IKEA furniture! I would never pay someone else to do that!

Mars would really get along with my cats. They sleep a lot too. Thanks for all the tips. My daughter used to help people with building their IKEA products. I built two KALLAXes, one with a slight adaptation. As an older woman, l was proud of myself. My favorite armchair came from the discount section. I don't drive which means l have to beg my family to drive me. Question: What about delivery and shopping online?

I like your content, but the exclusive focus on IKEA makes it somehow boring for me. I have nothing against IKEA in principle, but they often only imitate the designs of real classics. I know that's probably not quite budget anymore, but I'd like to see what you think of other Nordic designs. I'm a big fan of Iittala, Skagerak, Muuto or Louis Poulsen, for example, and I'm often lucky to get them second-hand for less.
