Sometimes I have sand around a pipe or something round. Typically you take a strip of sandpaper and wrap it around the pipe. Then you pull on the ends. But you have to move the sandpaper around. But your idea of attaching a piece of sandpaper to a hole saw gave me an idea. I will use that hole saw with sandpaper around it and then wrap a length of sandpaper around it and the pipe or round thing. Using a cordless drill I can sand all around the pipe now. Great idea!

I used to use newspapers too. But now I use the bottom of cardboard boxes. Stores typically cut away the top of a container of stuff and the product is still in the bottom of the carboard box. When I need one I take one home and use them around the house when I am doing some jobs. For example, I would put the paint can in the carboard bottom. It will contain any spills or drops.
