But John Petrucci is a shitty Rhythm guitarist. He is an amazing Soloist though. Best Rhythm Guitarists will always be James Hetfield and Dave Mustaine

truly incredible conceptualization and execution of those techiniques and genres/styles- one of those moments where i am inspired and humbled at the same time- mostly humbled tho. : ) dude- u rip. mad respect.
Davie kinda overrated ngl. I like him because his albums got some funky bass line i kinda hate the "slap like", play bass with pick is illegal stuff, and everytime i see someone play bass kids will go "can you slap?"
@@eureka3112 love him or hate him, you gotta admit he popularized bass among the general populace. I too started to learn guitar (not bass) about 2-3 yrs ago cus of Davie. I was inspired by him when he made challenges and solos. Tho he is totally different now and is more about memes than music. I miss the old Davie.
@@eureka3112 oh and I'm pretty sure a few years ago no kid would have known about bass and assume it was just an another guitar unless they played an instrument. Now kids asking to slap on a bass is not all that bad. I was one of the kids who didn't know bass and guitar were 2 different things.
Also love the tremolo. It's more nice to watch the videos like you or other musicians make of Black metal, it sounds better than the recordings of people actually playing it. I'm not into Badly recorded or .. Other things in the songs. I love the Guitar parts and also the blast beats of the drums.. The bass. Would love a full Black metal song from you, If possible it would go right onto my spotify list :D
1. Proto Metal 2. Doom Metal (especially if you play it slower) 3. Used in all genres where guitar is played 4. Blues Rock (Gary Moore and Paul Gilbert stuff) 5. All you need for Thrash Metal 6. Angry Black Metal 7. Used in all Metal genres 8. Metalcore and Deathcore stuff 9. Wait a second is that a Dream Theater? (Typical Prog Metal stuff) 10. Progressive Technical Avant-garde Death Metal
level 7: is it a song or improvisation? i love that part, so uplifting! it lose a bit the touch in the second round, but when that riff start gosh is pure power! Already wrote in a comment below...i could stop an alien invasion from my rooftop with that groove ahah
DoT has fairly easy riffs for most part, even tho their solos are quite fucking difficulties. I would say that 11 is Technical difficulties riff with all licks, that shit is absolutely insanely hard!
I hate these videos because they make me think "Oh, I'm a guitar power level 9" because I know how to do these things, but my ability to do them with any consistency is at a level 2.
Hi Bradley, just discovered you recently and dig your vids. Really liked the 40 underrated riffs vid, props for including Nickelback on that one. Just because everyone hates them doesn't mean they haven't managed a couple good tunes. Anyway now I'm gonna be THAT GUY and recommend a few riffs in case you do another of those videos. Byzantine - Soul Eraser, opening riff. (there are a LOT of stellar riffs in that song though) Darkane - Layers of Lies (verse riff, starts about 30 seconds in) Daath - Ovum (Opening riff) Last Tribe - Wash Your Sins Away (Opening/Chorus riff) Nylithia - Grinder (Opening Riff. Borderline solo if not for the repeat but dammit this song was my ringtone for like a decade) Tried to keep it to lesser known bands to match the topic. Fingers crossed you see my comment, keep up the great content!
aaah yaaah! halloween's coming early this year boys!!! (great vid my man! keep churning out that quality content and I guarantee you'll get as big as Stevie T, Rudy, Jared....). Video editing game up 1,000!
