PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING! UPDATE 3: Yes. I know that some of you are 12 and already know how to play all the Transcendental Etudes blindfolded, with one finger. Sure, you are far better than me. No, you don't need to humble brag about it in the comments. True pianists keep that to themselves. UPDATE 2: The piece I rated as level 1 is "Au Clair de la lune", NOT "Clair de Lune". One is a nursery rhyme, one is a Debussy piece. UPDATE 1: I've been asked many times to rate what level some pieces are, so I've prepared a list featuring some of the most common: Moonlight Sonata, 3rd Mvt: Level 7.5 Pathetique Sonata, 1st Mvt: Level 6.5 Pathetique Sonata, entire piece: Level 7 Hungarian Dance N.5 (Easy Version): Level 3 Hungarian Dance N.5 (Original Version): Level 7 Most of Bach's 3 part inventions: Anywhere from Level 4-6 Hammerklavier Sonata: Level 10+ Transcendental Etude No. 4 and 5: Level 10+ Paganini Etudes 3 and 6 (La Campanella and Caprice No. 24): Level 10 Flight of the Bumblebee (Rachmaninoff Transcription): Level 8.5 Chopin Ballades: Level 9+ (Taking into account interpretation) Ravel-Scarbo: Level 10+ Ravel-Ondine: Level 10 HR6: Level 10 Reverie (Debussy): Level 5 Etude Op.10 No.4-Torrent: Level 9+ Grand Galop Chromatique: Level 10 Rach Prelude No.3: Level 5.5 Rach Prelude Op. 23 No. 5: Level 7 Clair De Lune: Level 5.5 Chopin-Grand Valse Brilliante: Level 6 Note that this is my personal opinion, and does not reflect what others may think! You know, piano is surprisingly underrated. We may not know this because we already love it so much. And I'm really glad you are not masking your mistakes. You are admitting them which is great. Even someone really experienced makes mistakes. And people can play beautifully behind camera but can be really nervous and so make mistakes on camera. I have been playing for 27 years which seems very much now that I look at it. This is what I love and it's nice you love it too. Don't let anyone tell you you are bad because you are not. Keep it up and please let's keep it real. 🙂

Guys chill out it's a comedy video. Remember that these levels arent actually a thing, and you can be level max on one peice and level min on another, but thats not your piano level.. also theres no levels, this isnt an anime combat system. And there's not really a difference between typing on a keyboard and playing piano, so it's best to have your own style and write and improvise. Also a youtube video so it's designed to be annoying and obnoxious to get clicks.

Nice to know I'm at level 5 (Barely). There's alot of pieces I wanna play and it'll probably take a really long while before I actually get to play them. But it's a good feeling to know that you managed to make progress. The better I get, the closer I become to being able to play what I want.

@lucachu7775
@lucachu7775 2 года назад
I’m not him but I’d say it depends on if you are doing individual movements or the full sonata. The individual movements could be around 4-5 while the entire sonata would be 5.5. The sonata is definitely harder than Sonata in C K 545 by Mozart which is level 4 But a bit easier than Sonata in F K 332 by Mozart in my opinion.

I guess I'm level 6-7 prob closer to 7 granted I don't really practice anymore lol. But in all seriousness I almost thought this video was pathetic when i was at level 10 as I know there are harder pieces than Hungarian rhapsody 2. But level 10+ came and it proved that this is not one of those "troll ones" which just put hungarian rhapsody 2, moonlight sonata 3rd movement, fantasie impromptu, la campanella, etc. as the hardest pieces
@HinLunChen
@HinLunChen 3 года назад
The 3rd Movement of Moonlight or Fantasie Impromptu doesn't even come close to being at the top (Level 7/8). HR2 and La Campanella are near my limits of playing, but of course there are several works by Liszt, Scriabin, Alkan and Sorabji that are harder (not going to play those anytime soon) Also, don't call Hungarian Rhapsody 2 pathetic :D I know people hate on it because it's overplayed but I think it is definitely quite an extreme piece that requires tons of time and energy to perfect.
@CewbPianist
@CewbPianist 3 года назад
It isn't pathetic but in terms of the way how people think it is the hardest piece in the world. I def enjoy listening to it. I kind of actually want to learn it sometime
@HinLunChen
@HinLunChen 3 года назад
I'm learning it right now alongside HR6 and Transcendental Etude No. 8. It is an incredibly fun piece to play, and one of the few times where I actually enjoyed practicing :P It did take me several years to get from Level 7 standard to where I am now tho, the difference between levels gets bigger as you go up.
@CewbPianist
@CewbPianist 3 года назад
Yeah, don't have time or practice classical music that much anymore. Still interested in it but just takes a lot of time and effort. I'd say I'm now more of an all rounder in terms of playing various genres of music.
