Been ordering all of my meat from Crowd Cow for the past year. Well worth it. Beats others in tenderness and flavor and supporting local is never a bad thing.
Personally, I think Omaha Steaks is overrated. My brother-in-law got my dad an Omaha Steaks package a while back, which included a few steaks; a dozen burgers; a few hot dogs' a few chicken breasts; potato sides and apple desserts. While they're okay, I don't find myself getting this over just driving to my local supermarket and getting those same meats for arguably less. Flavor-wise they're not much better than what I can get at my supermarket. I do like their burgers, though. Especially with a generous sprinkling of steakhouse seasoning.
I spend way too much money at Snake River Farms, but they always have sales and the meat is phenomenal... I bought a freezer just to hold all the meat. Absolutely the best steaks and burgers around.
Allen Bros. from Chicago. NO one else comes even close. NO ONE. I spent my entire career in the meat business and am very familiar with the key players in this industry. Not inferring that there aren't other good suppliers but Allen Brothers clearly stands alone at the top.
Both times I have ordered from Kansas City Steaks from QVC have been horrible. I ordered a second time because I thought the first one was just a fluke. Wrong!
Bring posted VERY recently, I'm surprised they didn't include Crowd Cow, not only do they sell high quality meat, poultry and even fish, they offer it at a very affordable and reasonable price (they also give u free shipping and I think a 5% discount aswell).
Something cannot be more unique than something else as you stated in your review of Omaha Steaks. "Unique" is digital, either something is unique, that is, one of a kind, or it is not. "Unique" also doesn't take superlatives.
Sounded like Omaha Steaks wasn't like, not because of their steaks, but because of what they sell that isn't steak. Also, two things about the chicken stir fry kit. You're stupid if you buy am chicken stir fry kit from a steak company and why in the hell is a steak company offering a chicken stir fry kit? It's like going to a sushi restaurant and ordering the beef ribs.
Hands down good ranchers is the way to go. Im saving 25$ 4 life. Never pay shipping and always get the highest quality beef and chicken fillets. Never outsourced or shipped from over seas..grass fed grain finished. Mmmhmmm.. 🐮 Good cow... 🐮 Average 12.00 per meal for 2. Plus they combat world hunger by donating food to drives and charities.
I RECEIVED A PACKAGE OF OMAHA STEAKS. THE BACON FELL OFF THE TENDERLOIN AND THE THING FELL APART. PARTS IS PARTS. FIGURE OUT HOW MUCH TOP SIRLOIN YOU GET AND AT A HELL OF A LOT OF MONEY PER POUND. COSTCO PRIME IS THE BEST.
Costco prime blade tenderizes their steaks, and leaves it in fine print. This makes it so you have to cook to 145° to guarantee safety which is rediculous especially Since a good prime cut should NOT need to be tenderized at all
Good Ranchers had several problems, they do not use enought dry ice or insulation, they do not honor their promotions, they are pretty elow at shipping , average of 8 days from order to door
If you live in Eastern Washington or Western Idaho, Snake River Farms distributes through the Yoke's grocery chain. Even as these prices get more expensive I can still get a decent 10 oz ribeye for about $18
Many years ago we tried OMAHA STEAKS, NEVER AGAIN, HEY DID YOU KNOW THAT COSTCO, also sells PRIME BEEF ?, people have picked it up by chance then COMPLAINED that COSTCOS BEEF is TOO EXPENSIVE, IF YOU CAN READ THE LABLE,then you can buy choice that everybody sells , although I find their choice is better than some supermarkets ,🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I debated watching this vid. Mashed seems to lean towards the niche and obscure, like some steakhouse in an alley in Chicago that's only open 3 times a month. But the Bearded Butchers recommended E3 Ranch, so, good job Mashed.
Every year I start to order Omaha Steaks, items in cart, ready to order, then I see and remember why I've never once ordered...THE SHIPPING IS MORE THAN THE MEAT...no thanx. Can anyone suggest a company with good meat and normal shipping prices?
Desert mountain grass fed or Frankie's free range meat are both good options. $100+ orders on Frankie's are free shipping. And all the bundles on desert mountain grass fed are free shipping
we produce the highest quality, corn-finished Angus beef right here on our family farm in Holdrege, Nebraska. Check us out if you want to see what the hype about midwest beef is all about :)
Crowd Cow is the best I've ever had! They sell real Japanese A5 Wagyu beef and their prices are very reasonable for what you get and shipped here!! I've only had their A% Wagyu but I would try the others as well but they always come through with the best portions for the price so I always buy their A5 Wagyu from Japan!
if you'd like to try what real Nebraska-raised beef tastes like...check us out! All of our premium beef comes from top quality Angus cattle that we hand select :)
@@thenomenclature7243 Well now that's just silly. Anyone willing to spring for prime can certainly afford SRF if they chose to go that route. I admire your passion, enjoy.
Look, I'm gonna share a little secret with everyone who reads this - the very idea of Angus, black or red, being the "best" beef there is, is bullshit! I can put an Angus, Hereford, Charlaios, Guernsey, Texas Longhorn, or any other breed you can name, all of them, side by side, and NO ONE, not even the best chefs in the world can distinguish between them! It's a marketing fallacy! And I know as I grew up in a working cattle ranch in Wyoming. I've put several restaurant owners and managers to shame proving it, too! Stop believing the marketing lies!
@ Ken Prier; Angus beef is so overrated. The American Angus Association did a great job of promoting Angus beef, but as you stated, there are many breeds that are just as good.
@@lindamarziotto2071 you are very welcome. Honestly, try a blind taste test with "certified angus" and any other beef steak, both seasoned and cooked the same way - you cannot tell the difference!

@@karlbraun9564 you're right, the Angus Stockgrowers Association did a fantastic job promoting Angus. But while I'm aware of other countries raising so-called better beef, I have to disagree that theirs is actually better. I've had Japanese beef, Argentinian beef, Brazilian beef and others. Are they good? You bet they. But it isn't necessarily because they are better, but they certainly are different! If you cannot afford them, and most Americans can't. Even so, I firmly believe in supporting American cattle ranchers over imported beef any day. I just don't care for or subscribe to the marketing deception.
My advice is to stay away from anything labeled grass fed because 99% of the time it is not. My personal choice would be pasture raised and grain finished. Patronize a local butcher who knows his sources and you will not be disappointed.
@@granddaddyofthemall6320 there are so many variables which can affect the taste of beef. A few include age, breed and diet. First you need to define what Grassfed is. Grass includes a lot of different grass plants, and how those plants were harvested or stored. Was it fresh grass? What type of grass? The climate it was grown in? Etc..
Long time Omaha, NE, USA resident here. Omaha Steaks is a joke; you can literally get much better beef at HyVee or Costco for 50% of the price. The other stuff they sell is just processed, repackaged, overpriced crap from other suppliers; all Omaha Steaks does is mark it up and put their logo on it.
how is butcher box and crowed cow not on this list?!?!?!?!? Snake river is just a glorified prome steak and not worth the money they ask. the only good one on this list is poter road
In the 70s, my dad would set a package of meat on the floor of the local jerks grocery store, and stand on it, he said if the meat squished more than an eighth of an inch, it was no good....all those times you thought it was gristle in your mouth....it was my dad's cheap ass loafer stepping on meat with those little winter office cinders all in the meat
Just avoid good ranchers. The worst shipping and quality I ever had. Meat came thawed and the not properly vacuumed, leaked inside the box. I will stick with SRF.
Ya not doing Snake River Farms good! Sure - I haven't ordered from all there is but I can say this. We used to get Gelson's Markets 'Prime steaks,' then found a farmers Market that had Harris Ranch meat. A drop in price but definitely almost the same as Gelson's Prime. My wife said that she would like a steak of the good part of the Ribeye. At the time I didn't know that someone had them and they were called "Cap of Ribeye Steak." So... To kick it up a notch I got the American Wagyu Black Grade for us just before Thanksgiving. It is a level above and beyond "regular steaks!!!" When we both took that first bite... We both were laughing! I would advise anyone - do not put any sauce or anything other than salt to 'season' it. This way you'll definitely get the "Snake River Farms" experience! I would also recommend that you try one from Snake River Farms at least once in your life.
Incidentally, back in the 90s when I used to live on Loring Park in downtown Minneapolis, there used to be a locally owned bookstore called Amazon Bookstore.
You’re buying steak… in the mail?!?! Come on now! Get a life. Grow some legs. Go to your local grocer. Or butcher. You can’t go wrong with certified angus beef. Don’t mistake that GRADE of beef with some wannabe ‘angus’ beef. And please, don’t waste your money on mail order meat. I bought it once. Never again.
