Out have been so busy! I love everything you made, but my favorite must be the top on the dress form. The fabric is so stunning

Busy, busy month of lovely makes!! Love them all. I have been busy too. Made loads and especially love the Andi set by Swim Style patterns (made 2) and the Atelier Jupe Lea dress. Looking forward to your August makes. Happy Sewing. 😊 Lynne

Ooo the Andi looks fun Lynne! That ruched detail! I havent ever made an Atelier Jupe pattern either...how did you find it? Do they have quite a narrow size available...(Trying to work out why I haven't!!)
@SewMyTime
@SewMyTime Месяц назад
@@debsmadethis yes, the Andi set is fun ( Sew Sarah Style has a great vlog). Made several Atelier Jupe patterns and in general they are great but instructions can confuse me a bit sometimes so I am grateful for the Sewalongs by Andrea of Beyond the Pink Door. Size range is not huge but goes up to a Uk 24. Hope this helps.

I'd love to see the forward shoulder adjustment as I'm fairly sure I need one! Great vlog and I love your Nerida Hansen top ❤
@debsmadethis
@debsmadethis Месяц назад
Thanks Avril. In this top it's really easy. I'll try and remember to add it to the next vlog! Remind me if I forget. I think it's one of the most common adjustments people need!

@@debsmadethis I have very slopey (is that a word?) and slouched shoulders and have been trying to figure out how to make things fit properly so I would appreciate it. Forgive me for lack of knowledge but I'm quite new to RU-vid vlogs - but it looks like you go wild swimming? That must be awesome 😎
@debsmadethis
@debsmadethis Месяц назад
@AvrilBrown-ld6gm I think we worked out I've been swimming outside for about 11 years. It is wonderful and often interesting !! There are to aspects to your shoulder the angle to the neck which can be any thing for squared off to sloping, and the placement relative to the centre line. Even little changes to fit here help the garment fit a lot better. I think Lucy from Sew Essential did a good series on back and shoulder adjustments....you could have a look there in the first instance?

You have made a great variety of projects all really great! I like the idea of being able to change your bag straps as I do that all the time to match my outfits with purchased bags. I haven’t started making bags yet. I look forward to seeing your next videos!

Thanks Jan! I think now the pockets are in a better place I'll feel happier wearing it! It was a lovely straightforward make. I used bias tape to make the channel....forgot to put the pic in but that made the only fiddly bit much easier! 😁

Your shirt dress is gorgeous, as is your cuff top! I love that you added pockets to your swim bag - my husband bought me a commercially made one. It's great to stand on while getting changed, but it's very bulky when the drawstring is pulled up, which is a bit awkward when I go for my post swim coffee! First world problems! 😆

Ooo interesting! I had been using a little mat and a bag that's getting more and more grotty for years ..and had this in my head to make for forever! I was thinking about a rucksack style one but tbh with summer kit I don't need that much room....unless I take cake !! 😂

Wow you are on a roll! Some really lovely useful makes. Having seen the bag - it is amazing! The dress looks great with the change in pocket placement. The tal top is great for the nerida Hanson fabric. The cozzies are brilliant too. I’m doing lots of planning but no sewing!

Love your Reeta. I'm half way through one, which I must now finish, inspired by you. I have a Jones, 1977ish - it was my 21st birthday present. Not been used for years 😢

Ooo fab, glad to inspire a completed make 😘 You could probably refurbish your Jones quite easily. I've been pleasantly surprised how little repair/maintenance required on many of these machines.

As usual lovely makes Debbie. I am also a vintage sewing machine freak!!! I have a few...in some instances they are much better than the new machines. I was making a bag in the last two weeks with vegan leather, my reasonably high spec Janome couldn't cope, my modern Singer Heavy Duty couldn't cope but my hand crank 1939 128K Singer went through it like butter. They really are fantastic machines and so simple. I would be very interested in any vlogs you make regarding adjustments.❤

Thanks Libby ☺️ My fancy Pfaff definitely has a huff occasionally when a 1963 Bernina just gets on with 6 layers of canvas !!

The Reeta shirtdress is very classy, very elegant on everybody I see, the Oeff bag is very nice but it looks too complicated for me... :)

Thanks Monica. It's not too tricky, I haven't made many bags but it's got good instructions....Mine was literally scraps so I thought no loss .....I could film the next one I make if it would be helpful?

Great makes. Question re your dress, do you find the waist sits up too close. I find these dresses with elastic that the waist inches up too high.
@debsmadethis
@debsmadethis Месяц назад
Thanks Gerry.Not elastic, there's a tie. It does tend to ride up a bit if I'm bending etc.....presumably it just finds the narrowest bit! It falls back when I walk and stand tho..I know some people have made it without the tie.
