10 Man Raid Comps in Cataclysm - Who Makes the Cut! (and my personal 10 man raid comp) 

Are there any specs that are close to mandatory for certain fights? Like shadowpriest for algalon and lk. Also I see many guides mentioning to bring as many bresses as you can but didnt they implement a bress limit for boss fights at cata? 1 for 10man and 3 for 25man

How important is it to have dps changing to tank or healer throughout the raids?

I think one thing to consider with comps in addition to buffs/debuffs, 10 mans especially, is loot distribution. Your lineup has feral/hunter sharing melee slot and 4 other people chasing 2Hers. Melee daggers and 1Hers rot. They did give each raid tier 3 2her options and make most of them 3.6 speed, but they're all chasing that Sulfuras or Gurthalak in the end. I may be overly concerned about it because of our loot dry spells in Wrath Classic, but, something to ponder. 10-man will also lean more heavily on that hunter player to be willing to spec/pet swap based on the raid need. I can't recall the personal dps/sim differences for Survival running a ferocity vs cunning pet in a raid when every buff is covered (may need to wait for fleshed out classic sims). Minmax'd comps may make tier by tier decisions, as well, and run splits to make sure they have the gigacomp for prog or speed runs for that phase. We don't get the pre-nerf Unholy in T11 where you were beating other classes by 10%, but we don't get the in-the-grave Firelands version, either. AMZ was pretty useful for some things like Nef electrocute. From a loot perspective, I think if you swap the Unholy for Assassination and Arms War for Fire mage, you have a better loot spread and gain the 5% spell crit. Losing the warrior means hunter has to run an Acid Spit/Ravage pet, so ymmv. You could swap Fire Mage for Destro lock and maintain the spell crit, losing cleave/aoe damage for healthstones (which are effectively another raid CD when used properly). That swap could also be the SP for a Lock, I guess. I can't recall if Smoke Bomb had raid utility in Cata or we had to wait for MoP for the DR piece. So I'm picturing: Blood, Feral, Ret, Assassination, Survival, Ele, Demo, Fire, Disc, HPal. Can cover every buff/debuff minus Resto Shaman CDs and VE, two combat res. Gives solid phys/caster spread. What my 10s guild ran back in the day and still cleared HRag: Prot War, Prot Pal, Frost DK, Arms, BM, Fire, Ele, Tree, HPal, Holy/Disc/Shad flex. This was mostly based on what people wanted to play and a couple players being more flexible to cover some missing stuff. Not optimized, but still eventually got the job done.

Is there a tool somewhere for playing around with raid comps for cata, that will show the buffs that are covered?

can u do 25 man composition?

finding it hard to get anyone to play ranged dps what is the minimum ranged dps to have you think ? (outside of healers)

what do u think about this comp? I feel like this one has almost all the buffs and least loot competition: bdk bear/cat disc hpala ret (prot os in case 3rd tank needed) ele (resto os for 3 heal fights) aff/demo balance arms survival

1. Blood DK 2. Bear 3. ret pala 4. arms warrior 5. SV hunter 6. Elemental Shaman 7. Fire Mage 8. Balance druid (offspec resto) 9. Disc 10. Hpal There is no better comp in terms of dps/heal and loot distribution

What about the gym comp?

In cataclysm hunters no longer use in Mana so survival does not bring a replenishment buff It brings a haste buff and then whatever buff the pet wants to bring

I wonder, wether 10 man would be 1 healable like wrath content have been, with the right comp

I don't understand why you would ever bring a Rogue to a 10man, they offer nothing in terms of buffs for the raid. Might aswell bring a dps that offer similar damage and more utility.

Do 6% spell power buff and the 10% stack?

Shadowpriest is onyl really viable in 25 mans.... and in your perfect comp you dont have a lock so no DI and DI is by far the strongest buff in the game and is arguably the strongest buff in the history of wow.

shadow priest VE is so bad compared to wotlk VE it makes me sad
