I have five of them! I can't believe how big my collection has grown. I love perfume and i love your channel. You're so fancy, uplifting, and funny. ❤i can't thank you enough for the good you're doing!
I just received barrakkat gentle gold today in the mail, and I am obsessed! To me, it's like pink cotton candy (in the most refined and elegant way) with a little bit of juniper spitzed. LOVE IT!
About three years ago I got rid of my entire 250+ full bottle fragrance collection. I just recently within the last three months started collecting again so this video is very fitting for me! First I got my favorite designer fragrances back but I have focused much more on Middle Eastern fragrances these last two months now. My collection is well over 100 bottles already, mostly Middle Eastern. I'm obsessed. Seriously cannot get enough. My favorite in my entire Middle Eastern collection is Ajayeb Dubai, the black bottle. It's so sexy on me, especially on my skin. I get the gourmand but also florals shine big time on me, making it more feminine leaning as opposed to unisex, or even masculine leaning, as others have claimed. I've got four backup bottles since they're only $20/each right now and I'm sure the price will go up as we've seen with many of our favorite Middle Eastern fragrances over the last few years (looking at you Casablanca!). 😂😂
Dang, you got me thinking about it. I didn’t like the yellow one too much though. I got a chemical smell from it. But I might look into this one. I did hear one RU-vidr talk about it only because they gave her the wrong bottle when she ordered the yellow one.
How are people loving Mohra Silky Rose? I live in the UAE so I know I didn't buy a dupe coz I ordered if from Lattafa directly. It's smells like any bubble gummy Britney Spears or JLo kindda fragrance, I got absolutely no rose and trust me I love my rose scents (I gravitate towards rose by default) I had to use the Silky Rose as a room freshener just to finish it 🤦🏽♀️ And don't get me started on Oud Tonka 😅 it's like a medicinal almond massage oil that Indian moms use to massage infants with 😂 again, I love Tonka, but Oud Tonka is straight up medicinal sickly sweet almonds. The dry down is pleasant, but you gotta wait for a good 30 minutes and I have neither the patience nor the will to buy a perfume that I can't enjoy from the get go, first spirtz, first sniff 😅 I've noticed people in the West enjoy Lattafa fragrances more, could be that I grew up in the Middle East and used to such overly sweet scents, and oud and bukhoor in home incense to perfumes, that I don't enjoy them as much. Swiss Arabian has some awesome gems like Rose 01 (fresh rosy, very Delina like), Amber 01 (cold, almost frozen yet fresh amber) Amber 07 (gourmand deeper amber) Hamsah (a beautiful splash of orange blossom with sweet honey) Inara (softer version of Chanel Allure), Inara Oud (a starter Oud for anyone just stepping into oud scents, good for summer) which in my opinion are far better than Oud Tonka.
I had almost given up on my bottle of Silky Rose. However, after around 2 months on my dressing table I gave it another 'try'. OMG the change was amazing. I now love the fragrance when just a few weeks ago, I hated it. Perhaps it is the weather, perhaps it is my mood or maybe it is all those things. I now get it. I too love the fragrance.
Nice list, Maria! I have a decant of Gris Charnel and own Liam. I would say they are about 90% similar. I don't feel like it's masculine, but rather unisex. The opening is a bit different in Liam, but other than that... Definitely classy. A great, easy reach fragrance for me is Shaghaf for Women ( not Shaghaf Oud). A summery, citrusy opening with praline in the base. It's so much more than just a grab and go fragrance. I dont understand why C.A.C.A.O. isn't more popular. It's divine. Perhaps people were expecting something more gourmand. I am not normally someone who likes patchouli, but this is done so well with a suggestion of chocolate. I would also include Swiss Arabian's Casablanca. Caramel apples and grapes...yum! Finally, I also would include Lattafa's Nasheet which is duping Nishane's Ani. I love this vanilla. I find it comforting, but the opening isn't for everyone. Still, I need this. Always!
Maria! I have not even watched this video yet! I just read the title and knew it was what I have been waiting for from youand only you❤ Thanks a million 😊
Baroque Satin Oud! You told us it was good and I got it and love it so much!! A lot of people gave me the impression that it is a heavy/strong scent, but I find it to be light, refreshing, and addictive 🎉
Received my bois de vanille and c.a.c.a.o. Just about 5 days ago or thereabouts and I luuuurv!! They were both recommendations from you that I had been targeted for so long before finally finding them, so thank you! P.S. I've got 7 of your 10 recommendations with the exception of Atlantis (sitting in my cart) Shaghaf Oud, and gentle fluidity, so yay!!!💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
I am surprised anyone would find Liam Grey too masculine - I think it is right in the middle and not masculine leaning at all. I love it! So many great picks, and I have many of them (Shaghaf Tonka, Liam Grey, Bois de Vanille) and I actually bought Barakkat Gentle Gold and Atlantis based on your recommendation!❤❤ I do also have C.A.C.A.O, and I'm not sure if I got a bad bottle, but my bottle smells very oud-y almost on the edge of a barnyard oud, which I do not enjoy. As a result, that one was a big disappointment! I absolutely love Middle Eastern fragrances though, so thanks for this video and can't wait to see the upcoming one with you and Val!
I'm sad I don't get anything but a strong incense smell from Mohra Silky Rose and it's been macerating a month now. For now, my every day is Liam Grey. My church scent is Musamam White Intense. Date scent is Ansaam Gold or CDN Imperiale, bc they're so strong and feminine. Gourmand would be Oud Tonka or Qasamat Ebhar. A lot of these came from your recommendations. Love your videos!
I love ME fragrances videos. They are so informative and trust me when I say I have no guilt in blind buying them. If I had to start over I would def start with ME fragrances: From Lattafa: infini rose, infini musk, yara tous, leen, so candid, reyna, and narissa (her). From Orientia, Amber Rouge. From Afnan Mystique Bouquet. From Emper, Rouge Prive. These are some of the best long lasting and projecting fragrances in my collection. and they are the cheapest priced for sure. I have had the originals at one point and decided to sell them because it was exactly the same or pretty close.
Hi Maria, ignore my question on another video; Triple traders is sending me another bottle of Barakkat Gentle Gold. My daughters also smelled nothing, lol :o). I only own a few Middle Eastern perfumes so I am not sure if Amouage, is allowed, but in order I, would re-buy; Jubilation 25 Woman, Sunshine Woman and Journey Woman. As for the less expensive brands, also in favored order, Rumz Al Rasasi 9325 Pour Elle (OMG this is so addictive to me and I have nothing like it), Barakkat Satin Oud, Khamra lattafa, Lattafa Ansam Gold, Rasasi Hawas for Her, Rasasi Quasamat Rasana. And that's my entire Middle Eastern Collection.
I have Liam and I’m not a fan. I’m trying to wait and see if it might get better. I also love Shaghaf Tonka, just recently layered it with B&BW’s sweetheart Cherry and I’ve had so many compliments. My 3 yr old grandson told me Sassy you smell delicious and told Poppy as well! My husband loved it also!!I love it as a stand alone as well! I also love layering Firecracker Pop from B&BW’s with Nebras and it’s been quite the compliment magnet as well! I’m a huge fan of Gentle Fluidity Gold. Haven’t tried the Arabic formula but so willing to try!! I do have Baroque Oud and it’s beautiful!! I really want to try Boid De Vanille and I’m absolutely not a fan of Rifaqatt!!Great video!!😊
@Sillykelly, I also have some Juicy Couture Gold which I’ve never been a fan of but my daughter left them. I layered it with Cheirosa 71 through the Winter months and it was just beautiful! 😊
Shaghaf Oud Tonka does smell a lot like Velvet Tonka. But Oud Tonka feels sweeter and easier to wear then the one by BDK to my nose. I live and have both. I really like Nebras and the Roses Vanille dupe Val suggested. Not sure I'll keep Yara Tous or even Khamrah...
Videos like these make me think about my own preferences (and about the abundance on my shelves...). I think this is my list: Liam, Rifaaqat, Ameer al oud intense oud, Hercules, Khamrah (or Cocktail intense), Vibrant vetiver delight, Khair pistachio, Tharwah gold, Pendora Boozy cherry, Al rehab Dalal. I don't think Liam is solely masculine, but I think men can absolutely wear it.
Maria, love this list! Do you remember that one frag that you loved from Val's collection (from the first video you did together), in the purple bottle? I think it was called Min Yashbahak or something and it was mango and fruit forward? Were you ever able to get that one?
Well now I want you to sing every review in amazing song. How fabulous are you!! Next thing ya know, I’ll be sending in song requests too😃 Thanks for sharing
Hi Maria, you have a beautiful voice!! Anyway, Shagaf Tonka is beautiful and I also have Velvet Tonka and they smell nothing alike to me. The Bdk isn’t as sweet as the Shagaf Tonka. I’m liking the middle eastern fragrances since the prices have skyrocketed in the past year! Love ya ❤
100% agree I hear so many reviewers suggesting they’re alike. I don’t find them the same at all. Shaghof is like a cherry jergens style almond smell & while I like it, BDK is far more sophisticated & less casual
I feel like Gris Charnel and Liam are very similar with Liam maybe being a tad more vanillic in the dry down. Liam seems more masculine at first spray, but not in the dry down. Considering the price difference, it’s a no brainer to me. If you want it sweeter, layer it with a sweet vanilla oil or lotion.
Thatwah gold gets me all of the compliments. Although I'm a fruity floral girly and I don't lean towards the scent so much but people love it on me. I recommend using it during the colder months tho. Maybe during night time
Hi Maria, long time viewer here, I just love your reviews. I really love the Baroque Satin Oud. Fantastic! I can't wait to get the Atlantis as I love lemon or Linden blossom with hyacinth. Currently I am wearing Shafaq by Ard al zaafaran which is supposed to be a dupe for Britania by Roja Dove. It's a citrus coconut fragrance. Love it. Nobody is reviewing it right now. Have you tried it? I know the OG Roja is like $1200, but I wouldn't pay more than $30 for this because although I love it, it's not very complex and doesn't blow my socks off. I couldn't even imagine paying for the OG! I have Sondos by Lattafa and Pose as Rose by Fragrance World (dupe for Rose Cherie by Guerlain) coming in the mail this week. I love these middle eastern perfumes! The affordable price points have totally spoiled me.
I love your energy when talking about fragrances. I have three middle eastern and not loving them. I find them leaning towards masculine and sketchy . I love the price point so I will continue to find one I LOVE. Can you recommend a middle eastern fragrance that is similiar to Jo Malone Red Roses?
Great Video and I like your choice. In my opinion you could have added some fruity fragances, some Oud fragances and some nuttet ones too but overall a Good selection. Mine would be: Zimaya Sharaf Blend (Spice) Swiss Arabian Rose 01 (Rose) Lataffa Pride Nebras Gold (choco) Paris Corner Khair Pistacchio (nutty) Maison Alhambra Rose Petals (spicy rose) Maison Alhambra Reyna (fruity floral) Maison Alhambra Infini Rose (Oud rose) Maison Alhambra Gris (woddy) Armaf Club de Nuit Imperial White (fruity floral creamy) Lataffa Yara Tous (fruity)
@@sarahm725 😂 glad I‘m not the only one! And dumb me blind bought two different dupes of it at the same time 😩🤌🏼 I tried layering them but I had to scrub them off 😣🤢
I know this is going to sound a bit strange. The first time I sampled it, I mistakenly oversaturated my hand and it was quite screechy and a 'no'. I washed a sink full of dishes and then cleaned my tub. Dried my hands and was met with a beautiful rosy, woody fragrance 🙃 sooo when I sampled it the next time I sprayed it from a much greater distance from my skin (and sparingly)and then I was like ooooh okay. I've heard the oil version is more, um, tolerable
If I had to start over I would get (in no particular order) Matin Martin Miral, Ard Al Zaafaran Mousuf Wardi, Afnan Rare Passion, Ard Al Zaafaran Oud 24 hrs, Khadlaj LaFede, Maison AlHambra Niche Royal Rouge, Afnan LaFleur Bouquet, Lattafa Musamam White, Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud, Paris Corner Frenetic Emir and Lattafa Tharwah Gold.
I own both BDK Velvet Tonka and SWISS ARABIAN Shaghaf Oud Tonka. And Shaghaf Tonka is definitely a dupe for Velvet Tonka. They are like 90% similar imo. ST is louder, has more almond and more gourmand-leaning, but other than that they are very similar.
Hi beautiful Marina you are such fun and wonderful person….🥰I order C.A.C.A.O When you and Val made that video believe me it getting better and better but can recommend any other layering ? I tried with Ajyeb and is fantastic let know what is your thoughts ❤❤❤
I love whatever portrait (white bottle) but haven’t tried the one in the black bottle. At first I wasn’t crazy about portrait and now I can stop thinking about it. I have a sample but want a full bottle!! As far as CACAO try it with something like a rose fragrance- or cherry would go well with it!!
Have you found any middle eastern ones that resemble devotion? I love that perfume but it must be in a hurry because it leaves my skin SO quick. It’s pricey to only last an hour on me.
I could but they never do well. I will certainly consider doing it at some point…it’s been a long time since I’ve done a makeup tutorial! 😀💕 thanks for the request!!
New subscriber here!! Thanks for your video.. super informative!! Do you have a strawberry milkshake fragrance you recommend? I tried Yara but don’t get strawberry at all.
Thank you for subscribing!! The closest to strawberry milkshake that I have smells and it’s more strawberry cream would be Burberry her. I’m always on the lookout for something like that though!!
Le Monde Gourmand Fraise Fouettée Eau De Parfum It reminds me of strawberry milk or strawberry Quik. Also Coach Love. It's a beautiful wild strawberry. I totally forgot about that one.
Is there a middle eastern dupe for Kilian Can't Stop Loving You? I need one so bad!!! I absolutely love that fragrance, I received a sample in my Sephora order and I can't stop thinking about it but don't want to spend the $300 price tag. I'm hoping for a dupe from a middle eastern house.
I’m thinking I’m going to be the proud owner of Atlantis in the not too far future lol. I love BBW Coastal Hydrangea in the heat of summer and I see that as a great pairing with Atlantis.😁
Maria, I have a question for you. Do you know of any clones of Narcisso Rodriguez fragrances? Specifically, the Musks? I really love the black bottle Narcisso for her and Rose Musk Noir but, unfortunately, I can no longer pay upwards of $100 for fragrances. I'm try to find a clone for something similar to those 2 and thought if anyone knew, it would be you (or Val! Lol) I have been into fragrance for a very long time. I was hit head on by an uninsured driver and am now disabled. I have no financial recourse because he doesn't have a pot to piss in, so I've essentially lost everything. I love that Arabic fragrances are becoming mainstream and that these brands are cloning really amazing scents because I've missed out on so many things because of my accident. At the very least, I can get a $20 perfume every so often. Family will even get me one for Christmas, or Birthday. It's nice to not feel bad if someone gets you a gift you can't afford to get for yourself. I miss being able to buy something just because I need/want to. Clones give a tiny bit of that freedom back. Have a wonderful day! 💗🤟🏻🌸
I tried Atlantis on your video recommend. I smelled it when I first sprayed it but then nothing after that. It smelled good but it did not last at all. After about 5 minutes I smelled nothing. Either I got a bad bottle or because I have been sick my smeller is off or maybe that is just how it is. Way to light for me
That’s too bad. Maybe give it some time to see if your sniffer improves. The fragrance may need to mature for a month too…sometimes that helps with middle eastern. I found it to be quite potent, that said sometimes people will go anosmic to certain fragrances. I hope it ends up working out for you!
@@mariacollettlifeso it is quite possibly my nose and being sick cuz I am not smelling anything even my strong perfumes so I will smell it after I am 100% well. It also could be how it shipped as when I got it the bottle was quite hot. Not shipped in AC.
I have yet to find a Middle Eastern brand/fragrance that works for me. I get migraines easily & they all seem to trigger one!😓I keep trying though.😅Bitter Peach came close.
Great question. I don’t think they are alike. Light blue is a lot more citrus and woody…Atlantis is a bit more juicy citrus and more aquatic than woody. Both fresh fragrances though
Hi maria love watching your videos..have you tried empire victor by khadlaj thats an absolute amazing vanilla i love it so much even got a back up bottle 😊
Maria, just a question, is your channel more so Middle Eastern fragrances now? I’ve subscribed to you for a very long time now, but have noticed you doing mostly videos on Middle Eastern frags now
