I subscribed to half a dozen or more channels doing fashion hauls for over 50s and thoroughly enjoyed them for a few months but then got bored because I found I was watching the same promos over and over by different people (I'm thinking of pillows, cooling blankets, vacuum cleaners, scarves etc etc). I'm sure it's very hard work putting out regular content and there are some lovely people doing it but at the end of the day there's only so much time for watching. You're a great presenter Karen. I wish you luck with your channel.

This vlog in itself deserves thousands of views! I'll never have a youtube channel, I've been retired for a year now and it seems like hard work. The thing that rang true as a viewer was the long rambling intro. I've gone searching for many things and if they're not straight to the point, I'm off! having said that, I do enjoy your vlogs, whatever they've been about. xx

Morning Karen, I absolutely loved your vlog re: youtube errors. It was so interesting. I think all you ladies put such a lot of effort and hard work into your channels, the hards thing I think is thinking about things to vlog about. I also think karen that it's harder for you as you don't drive, having to return items, etc, and go places to vlog. If I tried your job, I'd fail in the first week as I wouldn't have a clue what to talk about. That's mainly because it don't do much, as I have a bit of a boring life, lol!!!Congratulations in getting monetized, hopefully that will become more in time. Keep up the good work, karen. An informative video. It was or is kind of you to help other utubers . The people I like to watch must have a good chattie Chanel and a sense of humour, if also against themselves. Content is key but has to be with the former. Glad you are doing well😊

Thank you Karen your video has helped me clear up some thoughts whizzing around my head as a want to be youtuber. So it’s interesting listening to your ideas, thoughts and mistakes although I would call them a learning curve. It’s a brave thing to do and you come across on screen as a confident person especially when modelling underwear or beachwear, you look like you know what you’re doing. I’ve learned lots from you and I will take everything on board that you have told us. It must be easy to think that you’re going to do videos but there’s lots more to it and I would like to be prepared as always when I tackle something new. Brilliant! I love a good clothes haul at change of season because that's when my mind turns to updating my wardrobe. In recent weeks I've found it hard to stay interested in summer clothing hauls because I already have more than enough for what will be a very short season!

Good morning and thank you for your videos. I enjoy watching your videos. I find your voice very calm and pleasant. You come across as a warm and friendly person. The sort of woman that it would be lovely to have a cuppa' with and chat. I appreciate so much that you don't have the nervous tics and you don't repeat the words 'like' or 'so' and 'anyway' over and over like many of the young women have a habit of doing. The videos I like best are when you show how to use things you already have in your wardrobe or where you buy one thing and show how to mix and match it with what you have. Hauls are OK but when you live on another country/continent, it isn't possible to shop for that item anyway. And many of us have a closet full but we would like to know how to use them and how to make an outfit. I enjoy all the ladies in your video group but yours is always the one I click on first. Thank you for sharing your time!

Hello Karen,,A really interesting, worthwhile, informative helpful video. Personally the majority of my you tube Ladies are over 50 except for Becky, Maria crockers daughter..Karen I have noticed that more and more you tubers at least those I watch are promoting the same product. I agree with you on dragging the introduction,,I was interested in videos pertaining to health but its took so long before they got into the main issue,I turned them off...great great video ❤

Thanks for that Karen. I too did not realise so much work goes into making the videos, and initially for so little payback. I agree about the long intros, and have watched some where the content did not really match the title even up to the end! You have to be committed and put a lot of thought into it as you outlined. You deserve to be successful, so keep at it.

Great video Karen, you’ve given me lots to think about I really agree about companies reaching out and asking you to do a whole video dedicated to their product. I only accept if it’s a good product I want and it can be included in a more general video. I personally never watch videos totally about one product so it’s not something I’m prepared to do. They usually agree and if they don’t that’s fine 😊

Couldn’t agree more about long intros! I watch a lot of channels and skip thru the intro every time. I feel they are just using up time and so boring! Love your straight talking Karen. Very interesting videos 👍 x

Oh, Karen... I'm guilty of most of those things you mention! Long ramblings and intros and I struggle to title my videos as well as being guilty of poor Thumbnails!! I'd love more views to allow more opportunities, but I don't want to keep on about it! Thanks for the wake-up call, I think I need to change. My channel was never about just making money, but there is obviously a cost involved to produce the videos, so I'll look at the links. Brilliant video x

Hi Karen, fantastic video & just what I needed as a new RU-vidr. My most popular videos are the try on hauls for well known shops. I know that if I lean into that, my channel will grow but, although I really enjoy doing those types of video, I don't want to just do that. Something I need to think about.

Really interesting Karen. Although not a RU-vid presenter I do enjoy certain channels. Didn’t realise how much was involved….i thought it was just perching a camera & talking into it 🙄 What I really enjoyed as a one off you did last Christmas time was the countdown days advent click on calendar, I found quite a few different styles I enjoyed, different to what I normally watch. Hi Karen You are very brave doing this online as I couldn’t do it. You get people who go the whole 10 yards then others who don’t. Then you get others who like the gifting and whatever next but telling people it’s a lot of hard work doing the vlogs. They are happy getting the gifting and rub peoples nose in it. Not interested in doing my own video's but like to watch them. As you said something that drives me mad is ... showing things in detail b4 trying them on. Just try it on we'll see it then, too much waffle. If you link the item people can look at what things are made of themselves, some waste time trying to read labels.

I found you through the transatlantic ladies. But I don’t always watch you to be honest. Your clothes choice are not my style. I watch Helen Mary Jo and Nanna M and they have both grown so fast since I have been watching. You title today did catch my eye because I’m just interested in how having a RU-vid channel works oh and I love Melissa Murell styling for the every day woman.
