my cat sophie was likely born to a feral mother. she appeared at my daughter's door as a kitten. she does not like to be held, and is not a lap sitter. but, she follows me from room to room, sits on the arm of my chair or naps at my feet. she loves to be petted, and often sleeps on my bed. i love dogs, too, but a cat is an easier pet, for an older person. she's my buddy.
@@rosiestewart870 I also have a Cat, 'Tina (short for Christine), that I got from the local shelter. Her Mom was a "barn cat," she was about 8 weeks old. It took days to win her over, poor thing was so scared, and she is the most Loving Cat to me and me alone. She is a "ghost" when people stop by my house, I assure them I do indeed have a Cat. :)
Sometimes, my cat gives my face a thorough licking. 😂 It doesn't feel too good, considering how rough a cat's tongue is, but I love it, all the same. 💖
@Mike Perkins This reminds me of my university days. There were 7 cats all of different age ranges and I loved hanging out with them and feed them but when I'd come back home I would find cat hair all over my clothes but it was worth it. :) I'd trade anything to go back in time and spend more time with them. Animals are the best creation of God for humans.

I remember all the sweet cats I have had. Everyone so different but loving in their own way. I read somewhere ... your pets eventually cross to the other side...but they never leave you...
and what is also heart melting? when your petting a cat for a while and then you stop, they hold/touch/tap your hand (that you pet them with), with one or two of their paws letting you know to keep petting them!
You're very fortunate to have kitties that love laps. Mine are not lap kitties. But one of them sits right next to me, purrs and stretches and let me pet his belly quite a while
We have three littermates. Buddy is my total Lap Cat. Gracie sleeps right against me. And sister Dusty won't do either, but she does head-bonk us. So we take them as they come - right? 😻 A belly-showing kitty is a compliment on you. Your kitty trusts you with his life.
@@danielfl.9347 That's not a reason to not like cats though. My partner likes spring, trees and flowers but has allergies. Some people just don't like cats cos they don't know them or bother spending time with cats. Or they prefer the neediness of dogs and can't deal with cats' Independence and love and affection on their terms. I have a narcissist family member who hates cats and I can only surmise it's because cats don't kiss his ass and don't do as he wants when he wants.
My cats are neutered. Always have a clean litter box and plenty of scratching posts and cat towers on every floor of the house. They pee where they want and scratch up all my furniture, door frames, and even bare walls. Really one does the peeing and the other does the scratching. The one keeps me up all night meowing to get in the room or an hour later back out. Installed a cat door he can't figure out. Honestly at this point I'm just waiting on them to die. I would never get rid of them...not because of love but because they're my responsibility (really my husbands, they were around before me) So maybe some people don't like cats because they've never been around them. I don't like them because even though I give them everything they need... I even pet them and play with the one that likes to... they destroy all my shit. Last week the one stood 5 feet from his litter box, looked at me, and peed on the floor. I'm a vegan, peta member, animal lover..... but will never get another cat.
Cats are just awesome. I have a barn cat that is just so loving. Unlike most cats, he loves to be cradled and held. He won't even struggle to be released, he just lays in your arms and kneads his paws... and sometimes drools. He loves to be loved. Cats are awesome.
I am a cat lover. Awww! How sweet! I wished badly to hold and touch them. I too have a cat, she brushes against my legs and purrs very loudly. She is so cute and sweet! The panther looks just like my oldest son's cat, and that ginger is a doll. Currently kitten-sitting my youngest son's 12 week old Balinese-Siberian mix Floof Princess. Love her to bits. Endlessly entertaining and fascinating!

Sooo cute. Can never understand people that dislike cats. How can you not want to put your face in that belly and give smooches. They are soft, furry cuddle love bugs. I have to restrain myself from petting and giving sleeping kitties smooches
What can I say and respond??!! I completely agree with all the positive and loving responses about cats!!! I am an animal lover ... no matter what animal. Animals are simple, loving, dependable, and deserving of our respect, care, and respectful love. What more is needed!!

This is my new favorite video. Everything about it is true. I LOVE when the adult kitty was rooting. Several of mine that I've brought up on a bottle did that their whole lives. One even used my earlobes as pacifiers.

We must all recuse as many as possible, don’t let someone say horrible thinks about cat and just sit there (Speak Up) Cats are the sweetest angels as well as dogs. Evil people prey on innocent; cats, dogs and babies can’t fight against human cruelty. You can help by each cat you save! God made my 2 cats and I would protect them from anything.
