I really liked the editing of this video! Also, tell Sammy congrats for running three miles in under 30 minutes!! It would probably take me at least 45 minutes. :)
Journaling has taught me an inordinate amount about myself and the depths of feeling, thought, and meaningful awareness that I possess the capacity for. Journaling has taught me there is always a safe, accepting, quiet refuge to turn to in the midst of life's tribulations. Journaling has also taught me much about my value as a human being and the inherent knowledge within my soul revealed more and more with every entry. Journaling has saved me over and over again over the course of my fairly hard, tragic life. Thank you for reminding me that I do not necessarily have to write EVERYTHING. I tend to do this and therefore, tend to live more in my Journals than I do in the realm of outward experience. ✍
I love to do my journalling during the morning, (because of covid), for me it's very simple I know that it's done it's on the way (I'll leave the journal entry open all day long just in case something else pops up in my head). My journaling has taught me so much about myself that I didn't even know was possible. I think it's the first three journals that are my darkest periods thinking back.
@@CarrieWalker Carrie, try this: This is a New Year's resolution exercise, the exercise that I do (does essentially wrap up the year prior and goals you want to set for the following year). and you what you're looking forward to it's something I got from a magazine I know (I'm so grateful) I did. It asks you what: What your favourite memory is, your favourite place you've visited, lessons learned your accomplishments. (for the previous year). For the following year, it asks what: I'm looking forward to, I want to learn, I want to go visit, bad habits, what bad habit do I want to break (and last but not least), What goals do you want to set? I sent you a photo via Instagram.
I'm just about to finish my 6TH journal (having 11 days to fill in 16 pages (makes me a bit anxious, but I love the challenge of it. I have something that I do every New Year's, and (I would like to be able to do this exercise in my new Journal, (not in the current one I have). The exercise that I do (does essentially wraps up the year prior and goals you want to set for the following year). and you what you're looking forward to it's something I got from a magazine I know (I'm so grateful) I did. I definitely love doing the tip when you write about someone else. For example, my mom got surgery in her shoulder 4 months ago, and I have written down all her process, I wrote the first week when she got the surgery, how she was in so much pain, I wrote when she came back from her physical therapy and was crying in the couch because the pain was unbearable, and the mental breakdowns because the process was so slow, and I wrote how I was feeling about that, how I was in pain too for seeing her like that, so I kept writing about it, everytime she left for her therapy and how she came back with more improvements. I love looking back and see her process and tell her how much she improved, because now she only have a few more therapies! And she’s doing better. So yeah, writing about someone else it’s definitely rewarding to look back on, good and bad.
I just started watching your channel and I love it! You made me realise that I wanna journal and I am starting to write and do what your kinda doing. Thank you Carrie!
In one of your videos you said that you can journal by writing inspirational quotes and that got me thinking so now I am making an inspirational journal for one of my friends because her birthday is coming up. Thanks for the inspiration!!! 💛
I have had a diary and have been writing in a diary since I was in 5th grade. I was looking back at it the other day cuz I was bored and litterly the first thing that I wrote about was my crush that I liked since 3rd grade, that I loved for years and still love to this day. Wow 😀
For me I lie, to journal in the middle of the night because that is just when I feel the most motivated and since I am in bed and everything has already happened and by the end of the day I am happy to get into my bed and pour out everything to a piece of paper
Ever since I watched your videos I started Journaling . Ever since I started Journaling it’s really helped me understand myself. Ilove you so much I can’t wait to finish my first ever journal.❤️💜🧡🖤🤍💛💚🤎💙
Cool I am on my six journal and I love journaling it is amazing I love journals what does it mean to you for journaling? And why do you love it so much ? And how ? I love journaling because I love to fill bunch of pages in I have a lot of journals that are blank and now I finally am journaling thanks too you even I started with out you thanks ☺️
"I don't have that kind of time!" yes. It's true. I used to have time/energy to journal daily. Now I'm glad if it's 2-3x/wk. Sometimes the stuff I really really should write about ended up wearing me out so much that I just... can't. I do *eventually* want to transcribe a lot of old things to one electronic format. I can tag things, put posts together from different notebooks (I'd have 3-4 places where I wrote stuff about 1 date,) etc. If I'm thinking about a topic, like a recipe I used to make, I can hit the tag "recipes." All the recipes I used to make and then didn't/couldn't for some long expanse of time. Easy! BUT... the TIME....
Hi Carrie! I was sitting this morning and reflecting on our Christmas Eves and realized I hadn’t watched one of your videos in a while. I don’t know what led me to pick this one to view….but so glad I did. These tips are really good. I often wish I had chosen to journal in my life. I’ve lived a very interesting life and it would have been so fun to be able to read back through various events in my life both big and small. Also, as someone you have shared some of your journal entries with, I want to give you a huge “Thank You” and attest to your audience that it is so enjoyable listening to someone else’s point of view on a shared memory. I truly believe you will ALWAYS cherish and be thankful for your journaling. Hugs and Kisses to the Walkers…..and big congratulations to Sammie!
In a diary i had in like 3rd grade, I wrote on the top of the page, no date, no explication, just “the Lara trap” (lara is my sister) and there was nothing else on the page. I showed it to her and we were laughing hysterically lol
