I like it when actors don't do something midway through a character that doesn't make sense or feels wrong (like Corden with the Posters)...What I don't like is when actors take a role, knowing what the script calls for, then try to change it after the fact because they don't like it. Just, don't manipulate a script for a pay day, just turn down the script.
@@marvelsProtege Ohh that was just one of Piper's grandkids who inherited telekinesis. Same power as Prue, but not actually Prue herself. Her closing the door was a nice homage to Prue, but it definitely wasn't supposed to be her. And the girl closed the door with her hands 😉
I think everything changed when Sean Bean survived Silent Hill Revelation. Having a chronically killed actor survive in a role where the character died in the source material? That's like universe itself glitching out.
Creed might be the most underrated character on The Office. He doesn't have much to do or say for the most part but every time he says ANYTHING, it's always off the wall crazy and hilarious!
I didn’t find for ages after that he’s a famous singer sort of playing himself. That was so random it still makes me laugh. Also: “SUH!! There has been a murder and you are a suspect!” “Ok.”
I would have to imagine that, much like the case for Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen on Fuller House, the door will remain open for David Hyde Pierce on Fraiser as long as it goes on.
Totally with Colin Baker. They gave him for the most part some pretty awful storylines, then blamed him for it and sacked him. No need for him to apologise from my perspective.
It’s appalling that a straight man who refuses to play gay is in the wrong. Especially when the same people who cheer the True Blood writers are the same people who believe that straight men shouldn’t be cast in gay roles. Also, I’m gay so this has nothing to do with homophobia. A person shouldn’t be forced to do something that they aren’t comfortable with. If a gay actor said the same thing about having a gay character that they play being written into a straight relationship then the actor would be supported and celebrated. It’s truly appalling.
I think part of the issue is that he accepted a role in True Blood, where there's loads of same-sex romantic storylines regardless if the character is gay (lots of bicuriosity). Especially for the vampires, who have the whole "open to anything" after hundreds of years of life. I think this should have had to be included in the initial contract with the show if he felt so strongly.
@@MelissaBlue but the role that he accepted didn’t have those tendencies until the writers decided to do the storyline. He had to assume, regardless of what other characters did in the show, that his character would be heterosexual. There’s no way to justify the writers or to celebrate his replacement. It’s also hilarious that an actor who refuses to do sex scenes or kiss women was celebrated for his beliefs in the same video but this actor is wrong simply because it pertains to homosexuality. That’s called hypocrisy.
Superstar is a bit of a stretch for James Corden. We want to send him back to you guys and you guys want him to stay in America....hes unloved where ever he goes....sad....🤷🏾♂️😒 Never seen the office. British or otherwise. So I can't answer your question, sir
Sean Astin is another actor who won't kiss other women on screen. Kind of funny when you consider how his dad was with Carolyn Jones on The Addams Family, but his mother, Patty Duke, was really good at acting blind and deaf, so it wasn't a problem. 😺
I don't remember John Astin ever making out with Carolyn Jones in The Addams Family. There was lots of hand-kissing, but that was about it. Quite an imagination you have there....
What's funny about it is, if done today, Grimes would get shit on for a straight man portraying a gay man. (though gays pretending to be straight is still perfectly acceptable somehow)
Do people not understand that playing a character is playing a fictional character that does not reflect you as a person or your beliefs. People will play serial killers, villains, fairytale characters, monsters, superheroes etc...but omg a bible thumper or a gay person, gotta draw the line there! People need to get over themselves. You people act like they are asking him to be gay in real life, good grief.
I think they are both right. He was right for not doing something he wasn't comfortable with when, at the time he signed to play the character there was no indication he would be doing any gay love scenes, and they were right to replace him because they need an actor who is willing to do what the role required as it evolved. I don't think he should be looked down on for it since it wasn't what he originally signed on for. Had he known before signing up for the role that it was going there, that's different. Which brings me to... I am less sympathetic to someone like Kathy Bates who took a role as a satanist and then was all "oh, I won't pray to satan". What does she think satanists do? I would think that's one of the main things they do. I'd be curious to know if she was willing to do all the tv version of satanism human sacrifice stuff, but the praying was a step too far. Like Neal with the "I'll murder people on screen cause my kids will be fine with that but I'm not kissing someone who isn't their mom". People are weird.
I now have more respect for Scott Grimes than the vast majority of actors. Good for him! And I'm guessing that the gay storyline came completely out of left field and had never been hinted at in previous seasons. Writers have become really bad about taking straight characters and suddenly turning them gay without any hint at all previously about the character feeling that way, even with characters who have very passionate straight affairs. This makes no sense considering that being gay is supposed to be something people have no control over. (And no, most of these characters aren't suddenly portrayed as bisexual, they are portrayed as gay. Idk if that was the what happened in True Blood, but it definitely has happened in other TV series.)
It's a character...playing a gay character doesn't make you gay in real life lmao. Also this actor willingly took part in all three of the Fifty Shades movies but yeah...so much respect for him and his work lmao.
There is no Satan. God….sure. But no Satan. And even if there were….I’m pretty sure a God who saved you twice from cancer isnt going to get pissed at one for saying “Hail Satan” on a TV show.
Even so, why risk it? I have come close to death a lot. Yesterday, I was watching this movie where there was fighting and all the tanks and choppers had three sixes emblazoned upon them and I thought to myself, "No effin way would I ever get in or on one of those!" Notice how I typed it out instead of using the numbers? Well, THAT!
@@WinstonSmith19847 I hear that bs a lot. You think because God is all-powerful, so that is the source of cancer. Did you ever think that cancer is caused by the evil inherent in the unyielding ambition of mankind? God did not put teflon chemicals in the water supply, you know.
My guess is it had something to do with/was similar to what happened with him and Homelander in the comics. Aka a situation akin to the Starlight and The Deep thing.
Lol! Comic readers know. In the side comic "Herogasm" you learn that once a year or so the hero go off to fight a threat in space or something. Its just an excuse for them to go off to some hidden island a bacchanal in every sense of the word. In the OG comic, Soldier Boy regularly sleeps with Homelander in hopes of making it to The Seven.
Sean Bean isn't even close to having the most death scenes. We just think he is because some of his deaths have been so prominent. He's not even in the top 10. Ironically, his Lord of the Rings costar Christopher Lee has the most onscreen deaths. He's died 70 times onscreen. No one else is even close to that number. Dennis Hopper is 2nd with 48 deaths.
I don't know if you have this on another list or not but speaking of actors who don't go against their beliefs, Lisa Welchel from the Facts of Life turned down the opportunity to do an episode about her character Blair losing her virginity because of her Christian beliefs. When they went ahead and did the storyline with Mindy Cohn in season 9, she even refused to be on the episode and her character was written off as being out of town.
@@kiwisoup He also tried to get another cast member fired because of her promiscuity (or something like that) in her personal life. I can appreciate his devotion to his faith and how he also won't kiss another woman, but I can't agree with affecting another's job because you disagree with them. Maybe he's not like that anymore tho.
@7:10 queen latifah also started putting in her contract not to be killed. With franchises all the rage, she doesn’t want to miss out on a future project.
Leslye headland is a great writer. She switches perspective constantly. Russian doll looked like a hot mess but it was entertaining and when it all came together it was brilliant. People hating on episode 3 of acolyte should look at the episode of andor where they walk and camp and plan or the first prison episode. I loved Andor but don't tell me every episode was action packed just because you loved the character Andor but hate everything Leslye does just because of her political views.
Maybe Neal McDonough should just play single characters. Characters who aren't in relationships. Sometimes actors kill me with that mess. A sex scene I can understand. But a kiss? Good Lord 🙄🤦♀️
