Adam Jones as TNA Tag champion was the #1 worst tag team champion in TNA history. He threw things and ran around the ring. I hated it then and still hate it now.

@@franklingoodwin In all fairness they are both ridiculous. However storyline-wise the Judy Bagwell angle at least made some level of sense, since it was part a feud that involved Buff Bagwell. Sort of a "I got your mom to come spank you boy" kind of moment, but shit like this has no business involving titles. The Strowman angle at best was just "I am such a beast I can win the titles with a child", i mean it could have been a celebrity, it could have been the biggest jobber in the company, it could have even been Braun winning it solo, it was a damn kid. Having said that, both made me want to puke.

When Hornswaggle is option that is used to kill big time angles and titles. 1) cruiser weight title and division, Hornswaggle killed it. 2) Vince’s illegitimate sone angle, Horny killed it. 3) anonymous Raw GM, the lil guy killed that one too.

I think we forget that when Russo worked for WWF, his ideas still went through Vince McMahon, who had the final say. In WCW, he had no filter. Moral of the story: don't hire Vince Russo

Same. Of all the old WCW titles I thought it would be the one to survive the longest. As it turns out that is actually the US title, which is the last remaining title from WCW active in WWE today.

And then there was that time this doofus named Doran climbed up to the roof, grabbed all the balls and got them down, then hung off the edge of the roof and dropped down to the ground a bunch of feet and broke both his legs.

Sable helped revive the Women's Title because of her overwhelming hype, Debra won because WWF was desperate of stripping Sable of her title after she refused and wanted to leave with the title, and Kat won because yeah, the puppies hype was the rage. After the Hervina incident, idk what exactly happened but we had more and more serious champions sans Stephanie but she did help churn out very strong storylines out of the title, Jacqueline, Lita, Chyna and even Trish despite her limited abilities at the time really elevated the title.

@@joshhale9355 Russo's one reign wasn't anywhere near as repugnant as McMahon's reigns as WWF and ECW champs. That's the only defence there is for Russo - the only thing worse than the booker giving themselves their own title is the owner of the damn company giving themselves not one but TWO reigns as world champ.

I love to watch old WWF-Shows from the 80ies. It is hillarious, when Jesse Ventura always mocked Vince McMahon for never been in the ring as a Wrestler. How could he know, that one day Vince will become winner of the Royal Rumble, ECW and WWF Champion - things Jesse never achieved.

Hornswoggle being used to retire the original Cruiserweight Championship in retrospect was terrible. They could have just moved the Cruiserweight Division to the ECW brand! If it was still around in 2009 it would have been a great title for Evan Bourne or Yoshi Tatsu to defend

I worked with Kenny chaos after Vince bought the dubya. He's a pretty good dude. He, Bagwell and the steiners are all great friends. I've actually worked for Scott steiner, met Rick several times and done county jail time with Bagwell. Good ol Georgia

If I owned and booked my own wrestling promotion, yes I'd probably book myself to win the world title to fulfill a bucket-list dream. However, I'd do it in a storyline the likes of me doing my best to keep the gold from the biggest babyface. Then after being annoying for a month-ish with "how great I am" he'd beat the snot out of me and get the title anyways.

I am one of the few wrestling fans who loved the angle when David Arquette won the WCW title. It was a good example of something wrestling seem to forget sometimes, that anything can happen in sports and in wrestling. Its very important to surprise once in a while so the shows dont get stale.

David Arquette's run in WCW is like a Mandela effect, he was by far the most entertaining person on the show at that point, would have been a wasted opportunity if they hadn't created any interest at all with it. His OTT heel work and backstage bits with Courteney Cox and Kurt Russell were genuinely funny. Okay, giving him the big belt was perhaps a step too far, but completely writing off his stint as an example of WCW's failure as a company is definitely a revised version of this period.

Russo killed WCW when he put the belt on David Arquette. You can get away with that for a lesser title. You absolutely CANNOT do that with your highest prize. It completely devalues your entire show.
