Rose vs Esparza II was truly the fight of all time. Both fighters made their walkouts, there were fans in the audience, and they even stepped foot inside an octagon! You cannot ever deny that out of all their fights, that was the second.

To be honest I don't like to say this ever but to me it looked like the moment was too big and got to Gane. I felt like it looked like Gane said to himself I can't fuck with this guy as soon as Jon got a hold of him.
@James Toney it's bizarre because this isn't boxing. Every MMA fighter trains in every aspect of fighting in each and every training camp, and you can bet you ass that Gane trained as hard as he could in the wrestling department specifically for Jones, and still got manhandled like a little child. And he's much naturally bigger than Jones, and the fact that Jones hasn't fought in 5 years and made the #1 contenter look so helpless, is quite in fact bizarre.
I legitimately, unironically applaud Carla Esparza's performance against Rose. I mean it's pretty much unanimously agreed upon that the primary goal of MMA is to become UFC champion and take as little joint and head trauma as possible, and she did that perfectly.
She fought her ass off to get the title back- remember, she had it before... it's not like it was a fluke win. Plus, her wedding photos turned out great haha

I agree with your argument, but not with it's application to this fight and how it went. Sure she didn't take any damage, but she didn't do anything to warrant the win either, getting the decision was pure luck, banking on the judges being confused about what they saw, clueless about how to possibly score that for either fighter and somehow siding with her. Sure it worked out for her but it was not even remotely thanks to her performance.

I mean if my opponent isn't attacking me and I'm feinting and pressing, that's octagon control, that's a judging criteria, albeit the absolute last one on the list but it's a judging criteria nonetheless, and therefore I'm winning, why should I risk anything? especially with the championship on the line?
