In addition, Charlotte has one of the best VA hospitals (and another north of Charlotte) that also takes Tricare and dependants/spouses. My son has lived in Durham for over 5 years and has had no problems. It is about a mile from Wake county line and is an expensive are to live in. Hence, low crime
Durham has certainly changed a lot. When I lived in Raleigh (06-12) it wasnt a place you wanted to go. There is still a lot to do to the city but it has changed a lot! And yes closer to Wake County you are the lower the crime rates.
Actually, downtown gastonia is pretty cool. I love going there. People are nice, they have a really nice firework show on the Fourth of July. That is very easy to attend, and it also has Cavendish brewing Company, how about cowboy water and a bunch of amazing crazy pizza flavors. I was at the beach the other week and I have lots of fun with a chick from Whiteville North Carolina. I went to Henderson once with my dad to visit one of his customers. It’s a city way up in the middle of nowhere that has nothing going on. Went to school with a few people from Lumberton, super nice folks, who live in a very dangerous town. Greensboro is like the forgotten city. They recently established a social district in their downtown area which is pretty cool and there is a lot of history there. When I went to the Governor Moorehead school, for the blind in Raleigh, we would watch the news. It seemed like every other story was about Durham or Fayetteville. A positive note about Darren, it has an incredible food scene, especially for a city in size. Fayetteville and Lumberton are dealing with the curse of I 95. The drugs flow through there from Miami and New York. Also, there are not as many economic opportunities. Those cities. Couple that with being super close to a major drug Corredor and you’ve got yourself a dangerous city.
Love your insights! And you are spot on with all of them :) this list is based on population va amount of crime. But that goes for any city anywhere. Drugs turn even the nicest city into a big problem. It's so sad
@@livingincharlottenorthcarolina the drug problem in this country is a Travisty. Drugs turn the most kind people in to Devils and zombies. Also, most of the towns on this list seem to be in the eastern part of the state where it is miserably hot and humid summer. Went to Fayetteville to see a friend in the summer once and I thought the air was trying to strangle me.
Never had an issue around Charlotte but have my CCW on me most of the time just in case. Never had to remove it from my holster in the 19 years living here.
@@livingincharlottenorthcarolina the biggest downside to living here is how fast it's growing. I don't think my wife and I will stay in Charlotte after retirement. We have an acre lot with no HOA inside CLT city limits near Harrisburg and new houses are going up all around us. When we bought the house 10 years ago was very quiet area and felt like we were in the country even though it is just a 11 mile drive to center city.
8:41 pm 3/2024 I came to Greensboro in 2005 from Neworleanes La and Greensboro was a beautiful place to live but coming Neworleanes and I was in Katrina storm and Greensboro was the place to I’ve been here now21 years and I watched Greensboro grow and now it’s like all you hear is sirens all the time the bigger Greensboro grow the worse it get but I thank god I’m in the safety zone and that’s giving our lord and savior the glory
which would you prefer for a young family, i am 30 with 2 kids (2.5 and 1 on the way in april), which would you suggest.. Charlotte or raleigh area? also i would need work in a hospital and my husband is an electrician
Honestly I've lived in both and I vote Charlotte Hands down. There are sooo many amazing towns and communities here that there is something for every budget. People are nice, SOOO much to do, and plenty of work
That Albemarle post is actually false. Yes they have a housing project area close to downtown, but the majority of the homes are regular homes with regular people. Half my church lives somewhere around downtown and have been there for years without issue and they are mostly middle age to elderly white people. Now there is a high oppoid addiction problem but that's for all of Stanley County, not just Albemarle.

My Mom has been in wadesboro 28 years and me and my daughter and grandchildren been here 8 years it's really not bad as yall think but there's crime everywhere even when you don't see or be involved it's there no town/city is crime free....sometimes people do things and don't feel it's a crime when it is ijs
"She", talked about that statistics as they were presented to me via my research. There is gang crime in every state in the US, but the way the statistics are broken out none of it specifies this.
haha I thought the same thing. It's a very depressing town to drive through on the way to the beach. There are probably many that were right on the line and didn't make it to the list. Only had time to cover 10 lol
I am sorry but Whiteville might be a town of 5,000 on paper, but we are the epicenter of business for Columbus County and much of Robeson Bladen counties. There are 11,000 households in our zip code. We are more like a town of 30,000 people which is why when you compare our rate of crime to our artificially low population, it sounds terrible, but it is SO False! We are also a major throughway for beach traffic so we are in a constant state of visitors swelling our population. Also, consider the fact that NC no longer allows forced annexation so Whiteville is a town that desperately needs a tax base of 30,000 people that swarm our city, but we can’t! To suggest that people should “just don’t go to Whiteville” and then in the same video try to convince people to move to Gastonia is absolutely insane to me. Hey there! This is great information. I hope you know in no way is this video meant to hurt anyones busines, it is information pulled from a few online sources citing the most dangerous cities in NC. I believe I also mention that people should take it with a grain of salt, esp those moving from states with crazy crime (I'm from NY originally so i know what really bad neighborhoods actually look like). And yes Gastonia has its not great spots, and is on the list, but also has some incredible parts that are quite pretty! I"ll have to come by on my way through to the beach sometime :) Thank you for sharing!
If you would of did 5 minutes of research on Greensboro ( outside of crime) you would know your analysis is totally off 😂 you probably have never been here. And it’s Reidsville!
I've been and I'm not a fan, not saying it's a horrible place, every area has crime. This particular list came from the link in the description which named these locations and general areas. :) Mean no offense :)
