How about the first game after Thurmond Munson died? I was at that game and everyone was in tears - the fans, the players and all the coaches. I'll never forget Reggie Jackson in the outfield with tear running down his cheeks. I don't think there was ever a more emotional game than that one.
And how about Bobby Murcer knocking in all the runs, including the final winning run in the bottom of the 9th, the day of Munson's funeral. Blows most of these "emotional" games in the video away.
Dallas Braden, who lost his mom to cancer while in high school, throwing a perfect game on Mother's Day 2010 with his grandmother who raised him in attendance.
In 1963, my Army dad got stationed in the Chicago suburbs, where I live today, and thus began my (currently) 60 year adoration of the Cubbies. I have had many ups (some) and downs (more than some) over the years but watching them come from behind (never losing faith) to win the 2016 championship in one of the most thrilling World Series to come down the pike was, and will always remain, one of the most emotionally thrilling experiences in my entire life. Go Cubs go! Cheers....
As a Cubs fan, I have to say that the odds were against the cubs but they in true cubs fashion Clawed back, Hats off to Cleveland for putting on a great show.
You left out the famous "luckiest man on the face of the Earth" speech by Lou Gehrig. Along with Dave Dravecky's comeback game for the Giants after having cancer.
Great list, but I'd probably replace a couple of those with the Angels no-hitter after Tyler Skaggs death, Dee Gordons homer when his best friend died, Jeter and Posada going to the mound for Mariano's last game, and Derek Jeter single handedly winning his last game.
>The game after Jose Fernandez died against the Mets when Dee Gordon hit that homerun was the one I thought of as well. That had the announcers crying.
@@frankbasilico9221Fernandez was high on coke when he killed two others by recklessly driving a boat. He should not be on any list, unless that's a list of the ten biggest assholes to play in MLB.
This list is incorrect. Lou Gehrig's speech is number one. The returning game after Thurman Munson's crash is number 2. I fixed it for you. You're welcome.
The final out of the 2016 World Series and the Cubs winning it all was something that brought me to tears. Been a die hard Cub fan since 1969 and grew up where all my relatives were Cardinal fans. I knew with that last out I could die a happy man 😅
Obviously one can make arguments as to the inclusion or exclusion of the biggest moments in MLB history, which seems for some people to begin when they came to the game. Case in point: How can Lou Gehrig's "Luckiest Man" speech not be there but -- with all due respect -- the passing of Roy Halladay is?
hello: I thought something was wrong with the vid. After 100 years how did the maker of this vid get it wrong? I was watching live and watched a replay 100 times. It WAS Kris Bryant.
Anthony Rizzo was of course, the First Baseman to receive the ball and touch the base and then put the ball in his left back pocket when the celebration began.
Fernandez killed two other people in a boat after snorting cocaine and drinking in excess. He deserves nothing, except a spot on the list of biggest assholes in MLB history.
Fact about aaron judge homerun it took 61 years when the record was placed in 1961 by Roger Maris. But there is 3 missing Lou Gehrigs speech, Robert Celemento Death and Thrumond death.
@@skyi3188Skaggs was an opioid junkie and Fernandez was high on coke and drunk when he killed two others by recklessly driving a boat. Neither deserves a mention.
I'm pretty sure their argument was that there should have been more of the netting like there is behind home plate to protect fans. There have been petitions to have mlb pass a rule requiring all ballparks to extend the netting across all of foul territory.
I hate to come across as insensitive, but WHO in their right mind would being a 2-year-old toddler to a baseball game, ESPECIALLY sitting in the lower row of seats, where batted balls can easily get to???
Mariano Rivera getting the hook in his final game from Andy Pettite & Derek Jeter? That should be #2. Dee Gordon HR after Jose Fernandez death easily #1.
