You are beautiful as are all these gyroplanes. Got to get my license and buy one before I get any older. I was in the Air Force and served 2 tours in Vietnam and Thailand during the war and have never gotten flying out of my system. Thank you for a Top Notch video!
I love the gyrocopters and enjoy your videos immensely. I also appreciate that you mention the cost for each of them, they are all out of my price range but you never know, I might win the lottery--if I ever buy a ticket.
Any of the side by side versions, No. 5 perhaps. I love autogyros, I would like to have a go in one some day. I've flown in a few fixed wing types and a couple of helos. An auto-gyro looks like a great combination of performance, economy and convenience - plus LOTS of fun!
These are expensive for me, but cheaper than I expected. A lot of my friends talk about wanting a Ferrari or a Lamborghini but for less money you can get one of these and to me it’s way cooler. I hope I can live long enough to see personal aircraft become more popular. It would be awesome to take my son to school in one
Seems like the average cost ran around $80K with some of the DIY kits for less... I like to save money like the next guy but I'd rather have a professional team assemble any type of aircraft that I'm going to be in! Saving money is good but landing is better. I'm not much on heights so one of these won't be in my future. A DR-1, after some serious flying lessons, maybe. For what it's worth, I thought #1 had some great lines.
I spent the majority of my adult life working on complex equipment. However I agree it it flys with me in it I want to know a professional played a role in assembly and final inspection!!!
Always wanted one but for now there price tag is a far reach 80,000 now if they sold for let’s say 30,000 maybe then more people would be able to afford them and you never know it could go main stream like the model t
I was very surprised to see my Cavalon in this movie. I really don't mind you using my pictures, you're very welcome, but it's polite to ask first :-) I have movies of the Cavalon in flight if you want them
It's amazing that someone buys hang gliders. Either they do not yet know that gyroplanes exist, or they do not trust them, do not understand their advantages, or they buy hang-gliders simply out of habit and old memory. Of course, I am not against their desire, maybe they just want and like it so much, why not. But for me personally, the value of hang-gliders disappeared when I learned about gyroplanes, I understood the principle of their flight. For they are better than all hang-gliders and paragliders. And doubly interesting. On the ground, the gyroplane is more compact, it will not be blown away by the wind. In the air, the gyroplane performs maneuvers that hang gliders never dreamed of. Yes, the aerodynamic quality of the wing of a hang-glider is better than the rotor disk of an autogyro, and it has less air resistance. But it seems to me that this is such an almost imaginary advantage that it can be easily neglected. Yes, fuel consumption will be slightly higher, but so what? Hang gliders are probably good where you need to take off from somewhere, just fly some distance and land. Boring things! And on a gyroplane, you can parallel the practical journey from point A to point B, you can do all sorts of tricks and get great pleasure from the flight! And it also has a panoramic view, because no wing blocks the sky! By the way, that hang glider in the video has a design similar to that used on gyroplanes. If for some reason I got a similar hang glider, I would not miss the opportunity to convert it to a gyroplane. The alteration would not even be difficult, the hang glider has a pylon, dismantle the wing, fix the rotor hub and the rotor itself on the pylon, control the thrust and that's it, you can fly!
Hey he didn't mention anything about any magni gyros, I just recently went up in a magni gyro M16.I believe that in itself might need a honorable mention considering it's a tandem open cockpit gyrocopter
Wonderful Presentation. As a S.E.L. and Sailplane pilot (Glasflugel H-301) I am curious about the life expectancy and general maintenance of the rotor head and blades. Anyone have general DATA on this subject?
It makes no difference what you pay for one of these, the thrill and fun diminishes exponentially once you realize that the vibration problem is inescapable.
Manufacturers links are in the description below the video. Im sure there are different laws for some of the models shown here. It may depend on your location and which aircraft you are interested in.
i woud like to win the power ball and approach these gyro plane companies to build a cargo carrying gyro to replace the navy's aging carrier CODS with a craft that can carry three tons of materials to the fleet at one time while at sea
I would like to fly one of these, I have flown small single engine planes in my 20's and now at 65 and my body is going south. I look forward to flying at least one more time before I can only fly in my dreams. I have invented things in my lifetime with a crew of friends. I long to feel free again in the sky's above.. Thanks for the show, always ready for and invite. Thanks Gerry Grilli
I've flown as student pilot in the 10-Eclipse and the not represented here, Silverlight Aviation American Ranger. Both are great. The Eclipse is better for cross-country.
#5 to me is the best choice. 1) side by side 2) distance 3) possible speed 4) flight height 5) looks more comfortable and more pleasing to fly especially with a passenger.
Hands down, the CAVALON is the ONLY gyro I would consider. It has a proven record that the new 1 on the list isn't yet ready for sale. And like the saying goes, " Never fly the mark 1 of ANY aircraft!". Fly safe everyone! ♥️
It's the Cavalon because its lowest priced, range, and speed. What good is it to own one of these unless you can take off from a short field ( which they all can do) and land in a short field or short strip of rural highway (when the police aren't looking) near a relative or fun destination. Only one problem, well 2 problems 1. I don't want to afford $60,000 and 2. I don't have a pilots license.
а где самолеты? я увидел только автожир!!! я думаю что все кто имеет хоть какое то отношение к авиации знают о этих прекрасных машинах!!! а те люди которые не в курсе должны знать ПРАВИЛЬНОЕ название и их ТТХ!!! and where are the planes? I saw only a gyroplane !!! I think that everyone who has anything to do with aviation knows about these wonderful machines !!! and those people who are not in the know should know the CORRECT name and their performance characteristics !!!
is it legal? Is it street legal, where can you fly it to, do you have to have a licesnce or what kind of license do you need to fly one? I've never seen one of these in real life before. This must be in the desert somewhere. It looks like a helicopter. They call helicopters, choppers sometimes. It look like a small chopper. Maybe a rapper, or a movie star could have one in their movie or music video. The closet i've seen to one of these is a drone..
With all the flying car crap A gyro best fits the bill. Easy, small and less expensive on the maintenance end. I would much rather fly one of these vs any flying car or drone BS.
Let me know on the central Oregon coast and waiting for that super earthquake and tsunami I need an affordable emergency escape pod for two people. Minimum weight carrying capacity 500 lb. Able to reach at least 3000 feet in altitude. It doesn't have to go fast nor does it have to go high or carry great weight.
Without Useful Load data, how do you know that anyone of these aircraft will fly with me in the cockpit? Perhaps you would like to be the test pilot on low altitude stalls?
haven't read all the/any of the comments so my Q may have been answered already. Most buys are based on the toy been able to get people to a destination. so how much weight can they carry and is there any space for safety equipment?
I think the sport copter2 is very good has shocks on it safer landing and many fine qualities and is based out of Scappoose, Oregon I am in Washington just my op have a great day be safe and a great xmas .
those floats look cool on the autogyro. too bad mossad put backdoors into the gps that is linked to the electronic pitch control and they can make it crash at anytime
#5 taifun my pick, I am thinking of travelling in helicopter for short distances too cause of the insane city traffic and driver's but the large rotor diameters are a problem cause they can't hit nearby objects in congested areas I think the multiple blades(>2) with shorter diameter can be better for such situations.
9:00 180 km/h not mph. Great video. Gyrocopter DIY plans and kits 40 or 50 years ago, could be made for a few thousand dollars in today's economy. Now $60,000 to $160,000 is a shame. There are still kits for the DIY amateur kit builder.
