The atiatihan of aklan perhaps is the most awaited among festivals as kalibonhon in particular and aklanon in general anticipate this religious and cultural gem of their province as early as october several months before the actual day of the celebration which is on the 2nd sunday of january after new year.This fiesta is considered as the blessing of the almighty to their place as they considered the sto nino as a miracilous one once they celebrate the feast they will receive abundant harvest and even healing their illnesses.

The atiatihan festival is perhaps the most original among pinoy fiestas as it influenced the many other festivals in their costumes and weapons as well as the way the aklanons performs their streetdancings from dawn to dusk by starting the whole day long merrymaking by holding the solemn catholic mass in the nearby kalibo cathedral.

atiatihan festival in aklan is perhaps the most unique among philippine fiestas as It is done by painting the, face and the whole body of the participsnts with sooth extracted from the prying pan.The celebration is not complete without the signature noise exerted by the revelers hala bira pwera pasma to relieve the exhausting heat from the dawn to dusk sadsad or street dancing around the whole area of kalibo the capital of the province of aklan.

How come hindi mo naisali ang Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival? This is the grandest and biggest festival of festivals in Eastern Visayas. Also the home of Buyogan Festival, Linganay Festival, Pasaka Festival, Buraburon Festival.
