Doggett became one of my most favourite characters. I was so sad to see her die. There was more to her than meets the eye and she could’ve gone far if she hadn’t been screwed over.
She went from that obnoxious character you just want to see in a body bag to a character you constantly root for and feel for. She's amazing and I wish she had just waited until the test results came back
Usually when something bad happens we all go like: “This is a TV series”. But Orange Is The New Black tells REAL PEOPLE’s stories, and that’s what breaks my heart the most. Because somewhere there is a Maritza being deported and being left alone in a country she doesn’t know anything about. Somewhere there is a Red who got Dementia also because of SHU. Somewhere there is a Taystee being put in prison for doing NOTHING, while we all actually believe she murdered someone. Somewhere there is a Nicky, who lost her family, the people she loved and can’t get to be there for them. But Somewhere there are also people who are trying to get this better, and this starts from Orange. #OrangeForever

Akihito007 “blame the character’s mother”. Even if we were to follow a law who is basically against human rights, you may agree with me that we don’t decide where we are born. Maritza believed she was born in the USA, when she was actually not. Then why was SHE deported, and not her mother? You answered yourself. Maritza has no guilt. And her mother only tried to give her a better life. If you were born somewhere else you’d think about what you said twice.
I feel bad for Nicky too. Even though she had one of the "happier" endings, her two closest friends became mentally unraveled and she had to be there for both of them. Once they both got transferred to Florida she probably didn't get to see them much anymore :(
I really didn’t like the ending. There was such a good setup for her happy ending but then her girlfriend gets deported (is probably killed) and her friends go mad and leave her. When they go to Florida, Nicky is all alone. Especially with Alex in a different prison. I was so mad
@@gabriellethebard9339 I'm not sure. I think (if I'm remembering right) that her original sentence was 10 years, but she was at Litchfield for at least a few before Piper got there. Provided she avoids extra time, she probably has about 3-5 years left. Maybe less
YES I loved Loli so much, she was so innocent and the only reason she was "a bad person" was because she didn't get a good treatment, she will always be one of my favorites :(
this show had so many examples of character development. in the first few seasons i hated some of the characters that ended up being some of my favorites
The last two seasons hit harder than a train out of the blue. Tasha "Tastee" really was the main character. She insured so much pain and saw way too many people die. I couldn't even have her force being wronged for life
I read yesterday that Danielle Brooks (Taystee) was only supposed to be in for 2 episodes on season 1!! So awesome the producers recognized her talent and turned the show about her instead.

i just realized that Red started out working in the kitchen helping Nicky and Trisha get over their addictions and stuff and now its Nicky working in the kitchen helping addicts and taking care of Red
I felt so bad for Doggett, she lived her whole life believing she was stupid when she only had dyslexia, when she was really smart and past the exam without extra time. It brake my heart to see such a good character end like that
I know right? I was hoping that Cindy would get a letter from the new warden asking for her help with Tasty's case. Something that would show that there was still hope for her.
@@lurblur11 not everyone gets a happy ending that's life, father's leave their kids and don't come back (daya) people try to do good and get fucked over (the warden) innocent people do life in prison (taystee) and people get killed by cops and the cop gets off Scott free(pousay) this show gave a watered down depiction of prison life for women and made it funny but still showed how real life goes for the less fortunate at the end
I remember being so ANGRY when they tricked Blanca into thinking she was getting out just to take her to a deportation center. I’m so glad that in the end she was able to have her happy ending with Diablo.
When taystee gets a life sentence for a crime she didn't commite was the heart breaking moments. Specially when her best friend betrayes her. Amazing and unforgettable tv series
Doggett's death took me out I was crying so bad and don't even get me started with Suzanne's reaction after it happened with the breakfast for dinner. And when she passed her test and her ghost walking away that shit HURT

it was so sad, but at the same time it was very intellectually honest and socially responsible for the writers to be truthful to reality. had she managed to get back to her kids we would have been falsely reassured with the lie that immigrants easily get a happy ending. this way instead, it's harder for us to forget what really happens.

I hated dogget season 1 but throughout the seasons she had the most character growth IMO and it was so heart breaking to see parts of her past and how much she was devalued and how much she struggled just for her to die and end up passing her GED :(
Nicky is my favorite character. The fact that it looks like she got it easy but after watching the show over and over you realize that she lost everyone.
@@paigeaustin7107 - the huge scar on her chest that you see in the season 3 flashback, where she’s in the hospital after having emergency open heart surgery due to heroin use & an overdose - that wasn’t makeup. She had to undergo the same procedure in 2012, for the same reason. So, the scar is actually there & they didn’t need to add makeup, or anything, to make it look worse that it really is. 💔
Out of everybody you felt the most bad for her? She is selfish and shallow. What happened to her was messed up but there were people that worse things happened to that weren't so self absorbed. Maybe this experience will humble her.

i felt bad for lorna she couldn’t accept her babys death & fabricated a whole story of him being a alive even going as far to steal pictures of other children off the internet. as a mother myself it hit hard
She needed mental help since season 1 when she kept lying about Christopher. She was so annoying and delusional it was hard for me to feel bad for her.
It doesn't seem to be in the video, but that flashback of her accidentally causing someone's death and having a blackout really hit me as well. She just blacked out everything she couldn't handle, and she lived in her own fantasy world. That's why she thought she was engaged to Christopher, and had all but forgotten her crimes.
After they came to max piper kind of turned red in because she thought Alex had been killed, Red ignored everyone while they were in c-block and if I remembered correctly they don't really talk throughout the rest of the season. Then the last Nicky saw Piper it was at the wedding Yeah it's sad that they didn't talk during s7

My heart broke for Nicky and taystee this last season. Nicky lost the only people she ever loved and taystee was just trying to stay alive and positive then when Dogget died she probably felt so lost again 😭💔
I‘m so sad over this ending. Nicky doesn‘t have her „family“ (red,lorna,piper,alex) anymore. Taystee has to be in prison for a long time for a murder she didn‘t commit. Red is sick. Morello is sick. :( Pens died. My heart broke over this season 💔
that’s why dianne who plays maritza was at the front of the protests, she said that it was EXACTLY like poussey’s death they died the same way and both of their last words were “i can’t breathe” so heartbreaking ❤️

Bawling my eyes out crying for mostly everyone but primarily for Red, I was so invested in her character, she's; charming, loving, helpful, courageous... Seeing her developing dementia was like loosing a part of me, the part who recognizes her as a family. Good job to the casts of OITNB and the director, you've guys made a lot of people life exciting and emotional by making this series
I didn’t know why I cried when Doggett died, but seeing it again, it’s because she wasn’t given the extra time. It’s something small to outsiders, but that extra time really does relieve tension. My professors sometimes forgot my accommodations and I failed because of it. And the law And the professors just say they can’t do anything after the fact. It’s just sickening sometimes, especially when you really do try hard.
Tiffany is easily the most relatable character for me on the entire show. Poor girl lived a truly miserable life in poverty long before prison. It's impossible not to have a lot of empathy with her watching this.
Her character development was amazing! She went from being one of the most hated (and one-dimensional,) characters in season 1 to being a fan favorite. I hated that she died, and sobbed when it was revealed that she had actually passed the GED.
When Vinny came to tell Nickii that their baby had been dead a long time and Lorna was just finding photos of other babies on the internet. That’s probably the saddest scene in any show I have ever seen. Not probably it is.
i created such a strong relationship with this series that even with the passing of the years i still cry remembering the stories and how very sad it all was
people with bipolar disorder function quite normally in public and don't hallucinate, become overtly delusional and paranoid and its extremely disrespectful and kinda cold to say 'other disorders like that' when bipolar disorder is really not like schizophrenia. which is what she has.
Deportation is some of the worst shit I’ve ever seen this shit is so heartbreaking especially splitting up families, especially when you know exactly what’s going to happen with those poor kids 😭
But Taystee started that excon help program. What would she have on the outside; remember the 1st time she left on early release in season 1?

Watching this made me cry again. So many injustices in this show, and which makes it ever more heartbreaking is that probably those things really happen all the time in prison
Lolly wasn't crazy. When Healy finds her in the time capsule holding the potato, it breaks my heart. What breaks it more she's screaming for help while they're taking her away. So sad how they gaslit her into oblivion to save there own asses. Basically used as their scapegoat when she helped Alex.
I felt so bad for Lolly. She truly believed that Alex was her friend, and she killed that man to save Alex's life. But then they all threw Lolly under the bus and let her take the fall for everything. I wanted to cry as she was yelling for Healy as she was being taken away, and you can see how even Healy feels bad. Healy tried to make friends with the inmates, and it always backfired on him. Lolly really trusted him to protect her, but he couldn't do anything about it. Healy looked like he felt so bad for Lolly as they dragged her away.
Sam Healy can relate to Lolly cuz he went thru this too because he's mom was the same as Lolly its a heartbreaking moment to see someone go thru that too.
With Healy I can relate because my mother has severe depression and walked out into the middle of a river in the night, nearly drank herself to death, lost a child, and nearly lost me. I’m borrowing my fathers phone as apple needs it’s .99 cents from my phone only. My father had a psychotic break from paranoia schizophrenia, and I dated a heroin addict and had a best friend who fell to the justice system and I found my bf dead, as did I lose another close friend. In terms of gay rights, my best friend whom I met first is no longer here because he was bisexual and someone said something pretty fucked up, he drove off on his motorcycle, and you can guess where that gets left off. Now, I’m being fucked around by the medical and psychiatric system. As I am trying to convey, this show is deeply deeply relatable. I mean on the Richter scale it out of the ball park for me. I continue pressing on, trying to gain traction and help to and aid those who need help too. Of course nothing in this world is perfect, but seeing shocking things happen to those that don’t deserve it is horrible. It’s the worst crime if not equal and comparable to people who commit serial crimes or crimes of abuse such as the security guards. Thanks for the video and for letting me voice my thoughts-there is a lot coming down on me at once and I still have not finished the OITNB. I’ll try as hard as it will be. Stay well everyone.
The ending was perfect in my opinion. It showed the reality of prison, some make it out and continue their lives, while others don’t and it can destroy them. Life is unfair to people who are genuinely good sometimes, to people that deserve a second chance or were locked up unfairly. If it had ended with everyone getting out and being happy, I think I would have hated it because it’s not realistic, and I didn’t watch this show to experience a fairy tale.
I agree. Although part of me wanted to see every character get a happy and neatly tied up ending, in reality I know it wouldn't be realistic. The endings we got are better, even though some of them hurt. For me, Taystee and Doggett hit the hardest. Closely followed by Red and Lorna.

Blanca's fate really shocked me when I really believed she was going home free....NO she was sent to a detention center to be deported. That took me off guard.
See here’s the thing, they took Lolly to psych and they basically say cause she was hearing voices and talking to herself when crazy eyes does the same thing all the time omg
If you remember in season 1, Suzanne (crazy eyes) parents made a deal with the prison to keep her out of psych. Money talks, bullshit walks unfortunately. Lolly didn't have any family. They abandoned her.
My heart Breaks for Tasteee. She ain’t deserve that all she wanted was more opportunities for the inmates and basic needs meet. RIP Tuckey i knew she was gonna pass! Broke my heart that she wasn’t able to see her certificate.. My favs were Tastee, Daya, dogget after season 3 OITNB was gold definitely gonna miss this show ❤️
