Billy Gunn had successful, still remembered tag teams in the New Generation, the Attitude Era and the post-Invasion/early Ruthless Aggression eras. Pretty impressive.
Didn’t he also hold tag gold when he was running that faction with Sanada and Abyss? Don’t remember the groups name and they weren’t that good but that’s another one that could be mentioned
A correction: Hiroshi Hase didn't leave wrestling. As a matter of fact, he's the serving Governor of Ishikawa Prefecture *AND* wrestled at NOAH's first show this year (the one headlined by Muta vs. Nakamura). Hase is going to be a case of never fully going into retirement until he passes away; but, he's not worried about getting himself over as he's more known in Japan for his political career than his wrestling career anymore.
This is the reason why Kane is one of my favorite wrestlers in WWE the guy is supposed to be a tortured soul that's been turned into a demon that destroys everyone in his path and yet he had chemistry with 7 other wrestlers and won 12 tag championship across 3 eras of WWE.
There's really no debate that in WWE it's Kofi Kingston, who could make the hall of fame on his tag record alone (let alone being the 30th grand slam champion and title winningest wrestler of the 2010s): 15 tag title reigns Record setting longest title reign (since dethroned by Usos) 4 different partners (New Day, Evan Bourne, R-Truth, CM Punk) Won the Raw, Smackdown, and NXT tag titles 3x PWI Tag team of the year
Edge was Part of one of the greatest teams ever, then went on to win the belts with maybe the widest variety of partners ever from Rey to f*cling Hulk Hogan. Unmatched
Kane is the most under rated wrestler from WWE, he always carried himself good and was cool even when he was used for comedy purposes...Kane was secretly funny as fuck.
Imo kane was actually better when part of a tag team than he ever was as a singles competitor. The character of kane as a singles competitor may have been better but his matches were far better when in a tag team
Jackie Fargo. The answer is Jackie Fargo. He held nearly 60 Tag Team Championships, with a multitude of tag partners. When it comes to tag team prowess, nothing comes close to Jackie Fargo.
I would have LOVED it if there was a backstage segment where all of Kane's former tag partners were arguing over which of them was his best partner. Kane would then walk in on them, they would ask him which one of them was and be would go "Oh hell no!" And walk off. Bryan would then go "See? He said me!"

Bobby Eaton is the best tag team wrestler ever, the only thing that kept him off this list is they didn’t switch the belts every other week like they started doing in the mid-90s.
