Who isn’t popular souls youtuber iron pineapple also known in that one demon’s souls video as metal fruit also known as the ha ha funny pruld banana man? I mean I’m excited and I don’t have a pc strong enough to run dark souls so yeah
Ah, thanks for mentioning my "Alpha" Doll's voice discovery. I personally didn't really like the alpha voice but was kinda shocked to see quite a few people actually preferred it? I guess it has a kind of otherworldly feel to it, so I can see the appeal.
It has a kind of Lynchian detached dream feeling to it, also kinda sounds like each sentence is a question by the rising tone at the end which just sounds surreal and offputting.
Love your content Lance! I personally liked the placeholder voice because of the stilted odd cadence of it, I felt that lent to the doll in a dream/nightmare motif.
@@_rgrech I swear to god I always tell myself that they hit a limit of how good skyrim can look, but then they make it somehow look even better. There is no brakes in that modding community.
@@_rgrech There is already amazing mod called Enderal. It is a full game that is not within TES universe. It uses Skyrim's engine and assets, but also has tons of custom made assets, textures etc. It has fully voiced npc's (voice acting for the main cast is amazing). But the best part about it is story. I just can't believe it's free. I spent 100 hours on my first playthrough. Check it out.
@@Cairo40000 I'm not really bothered with the lack of news, considering it's their most ambitious project so far and the pandemic just made things harder, I just hope everything goes well at Fromsoft. The jokes about hollowing never get old tho xD
Miyazaki is a god damn genius. We are so lucky to have a mind like this in the video game industry. For newcomers, the cost of entry to those games is difficult but very much worth it.
@@nibletti there’s a reason for even the fan service within the implicit arguments that nier automata makes. Don’t discount that game it’s a masterpiece as well.
@@Stalutes64 i personally couldnt get into nier because it was too flashy for me hahaha hurt my eyes. It seems like a great game but not my style of game unfortunately :(
he already mentioned in the past that his take would basically be a rip-off of Mitch L‘s Lady Maria video.. so Vaati already confirmed a while ago that it‘ll never come
As a french, i love the accent when i hear 3:30 "chateau de de chambord". Also, a little trivia, this kind of stairs was design to impress and welcome guests when they arrive in the castle. My first time climbing it i was like "ohhh, i hope i have a welcoming committee..." Silver knights, silver knights everywhere...
I've actually been to Châtaeu de Chambord in France, it's an incredible place to behold and it's history and atmosphere eerily match that of Anor Londo. Chambord was built by King Franz I. during the 16th century, who wished for a palace that would show his might and his ambitions to the world. He never accomplished his goals though, and spent most of his life shunning the finished castle, presumably because it reminded him of everything he never managed to be. Chambord is a castle that was defined by its king abandoning it, and there is a certain emptiness that lingers in its imposing halls. They threw me out when I tried to pull off the stairs jump shortcut. Heh.
The Sincere Prayer ring is such a neat hideaway! It's delightfully devilish (Miyazaki) that he managed to slip it past the supervisors, and a neat bit of trivia :)
I'd throw into that pool. I'm gonna say...a note on elden ring coming out before we all die from the mutated covid that non mask wearers are growing for us by getting each other sick but not dying over and over. 😑
Burning bones and talking to eachother was a common funeral practice to remember a friend or family member. My family has wakes and cremates the dead after the celebration. Dark Souls really hits that with the idea that a bonfire is a place for people to gather and be at ease, though we dont share the same sentiments. Its like members of other clans gathering to remember the good, the bad, and to just rest from fighting. Stark joy for me.
Only if the witch of izalith (bug you kill in bed of chaos bossfight) comes back to life by the power of the flame for a epic deserved boss battle haha. A man gotta dream... My biggest ragequit in dark souls remaster is #1 the f****** black knight archers in anor londo #2 huge af skeleton dogs in tomb of giants #3 getting swiped in that f****** hole in the floor in bed of chaos bossfight
Hey Vaati. I'm one of your French viewers, and I must admit your accent is respectable ^^ Really I just wanted to say that it's amazing to see how this game came to be, the inspirations it has, and that wouldn't be possible without your work. Always happy to see when you upload, keep it up!
@@pious83 When I played it I thought to myself: "It would be cool if From did something like that in future titles." And surely enough they did it in Sekiro.
Hey vaati. When are you making the Lady Maria Prepare to Cry episode? It’s a great story, and it’d be nice to see it sometime this year! Haha. Thanks man.
Actually, Crowbcat did a video called "Dark Souls Locations in Real Life" where he did a showcase of all the scenery in the game vs their real life counterpart
Something I realized after watching this video is not only how detailed and amazing the Dark Souls series is... But also a lot of these buildings you see in this video also inspired the buildings and castles seen in Re:ZERO. For instance, the Roswall Mansion is an almost identical replica of the Château de Chambord. Many of the buildings shown here seem to have inspired other locations but unfortunately, I cannot get into them due to spoilers since the show is still early on in the story compared to the Light Novel.
Followed this channel without even playing a dark souls game, just like the content. However, I'm commenting on the nightfall mod. Always a hats off to modders who go out of their way to make extra content for the community. Looks well made, cheers to the players that'll be able to play it.
I've always thought that the Praise the Sun pose looked a like a tree extending its branches to soak up sunlight. Interestingly enough, trees have been a part of some repeated sacred symbolism throughout the Souls series. What's more, the leaks surrounding Elden Ring appear to reference the Tree of Life from Norse mythology - Yggdrasil.
A thing to note is that Angkor Watt is not a piece of ancient architecture. It was constructed in the 12th century. European explorers did not believe that the Cambodians were capable of such an architectural marvel so they attributed it to some lost civilization.
For those curious the enemy giving you the echos in the dungeon is a NPC Kirkhammar hunter. Further I think what's going on is he is spawning on a bridge that has swinging blades and just doesn't have collision yet while retaining his hitbox.
Actually can’t thank you enough Vaati. Ever since I have discovered you when you first released the prepare to cry videos you improved so much and up to this day you are in my opinion one of the greatest(meaning best) content creators on RU-vid. Thank you for all your hard work!! Truly *sincere prayer*
Something weird happened to me the other day. I was playing Dark Souls 3 Ashes of Ariandel using Fume Ultra Greatsword. A Corvian Knight was doing its dash attack at me at the same time I was doing the R1 attack… and I parried the corvian’s attack. I know it was a parry because of the sound effect, animation, and riposte. This has never happened to me before and I was wondering if it happened to anyone else.
Vaati... just... thank you. For this and every video of yours. Years go by and I can't believe we still keep learning new things about hese masterpieces. I'm a newbie that has only completed the first two DS titles, and still has a long way to go. But I really appreciate every video of yours. Thank you.
I used that glyph in Bloodborne to help me level up so I could take down the bosses in The Old Hunters DLC. Throw on some of the runes to max out the amount of blood echoes. I think I was getting 140000 at a time? It was majestic.
Also about #5, you can increase the amount of echoes you get by equipping 1 or more Moon runes. I've tested it and received 101k+ echoes per instance. I have also traveled a bit into the dungeon but with the massive health reduction it can be difficult. Love your videos Vaati!
Man it hits hard when you talk about dark souls mods and you don't mention Inferno's insane "Dark souls remasterest" mod that rebalanced the entire game and added blood gulch
I watched Illusory Wall's "Demon's Souls Compare-Through - Part 1: Journey to the Nexus" recently and he mentioned you can hear a baby's cry in that area (in the original game) so I don't think that's a Bloodborne reference.
I could swear that is Little Kuribo honestly, when he does Duke Devlin's voice in his Yu-Gi-Oh abridged series. Listening again, it could also be his Yami voice. lol
Every video about secrets in dark souls games just make me more sure that this series is just amazing. The depth makes it the opus magnum of (maybe) all games.
This is one of the first times I knew about a Bloodborne secret before it was on this channel. The cummmfpk dungeon is a god send, and if you use the runes that boost blood echo adsorption you can get well over 100000 echoes each load
Hey Vaati. When are you making that Lady Maria Prepare to Cry episode? It's a great story, and it'd be nice to see it sometime this year! haha. Thanks man.
He surely knows. Babylon doesn't exist anymore, however we still say the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The Hagia Sophia was of Byzantin making. It was their accomplishment. Only fitting to call it that.
Love that Chateau, It's the double helix staircase at Chambord, me and my sister walked up/down it from opposite ends and never met on the way, really funky design
If anyone of y'all is interested in more Dark Souls real life locations, check out CrowbCat's video. Seeing the actual Bell Tower of the undead parish standing tall in a sea of trees is truly a striking image.
Coincidentally, some sources say that the Italian word also derives from another French word: "faille" in this case (meaning "torch"). Although it is more likely that it derives from the Greek ϕανός (fanόs)
I get how Waragui thought it'd be fun to walk on the buttresses. What I don't get, however, is why he thought playing a fatal game of Wipeout on them would also be fun.
I just want to mention that burning animal bones was a pretty good way of making fertiliser. It can literally be used to skip out on letting your fields go fallow. You can think of it being used to avoid a normally necessary part of the soils cycle. Similarly undead are burned to prevent the similarly natural age of dark from coming. (I am sure we all know that this is not how simple soil science is, this is just a rough comparison)
