Graciela's Tikbalang costume which is another Filipino Mythical creature inspired natcos was also my favorite among all of the national costumes. The creativity performance and the work itself is on another level. This costume deserves to be on an international stage like Miss Universe.

The Tikbalang horse costume is really out of the box. It's not normally what you would see in a Filipino Natcos Presentation because of its "scary" mythical reputation but damn, that was just creative and refreshing to see. I love when designers and the girls choose elements of Filipino culture that are rarely represented on stage like Binibini or MUPH, and showcase them in the most creative way possible. Ever since Catriona went all out with it, I just keep getting surprised year after year that "What's New this year" becomes an annual question in my mind.

This is probably one of the best Natcos presentation in BBP by far. So many creative and outside the box ideas. I'm glad you really enjoyed it as much as we do. Kudos to BBP for giving ALL the candidates and designers their time to shine.

A vivid, colossal, and superb showcase of Filipino artistry and ingenuity. These costumes are not only intricately designed and created, they also have historical, folkloric and mythical significance. The horse (half human)is derived from the “Alamat ng Tikbalang” a myth we learned from our childhood years. The lady in the portrait signifies our love and utmost respect for the Virgin Mary. And the giant size human figure showcases the festival celebrated every year in Angono, Rizal. Dani, I admire the way you look into the deepest and smallest detail of these costumes, the beading process alone which is mostly done by hand is truly amazing and spectacular. Kudos to all the teams of this year’s candidates. These costumes are truly worthy of international attention.

We’ve seen so many intricate designs this year. Just when I thought the Philippines is out of ideas to show, it has proved me wrong. There are so many creative minds under the radar. Definitely will never ran out of bullets.

I agree with you. That would be cool to showcase the Behind the Scenes assembling of each national costume to pay tribute and appreciation to the creators and creativity of the designers. That would create more appreciation for the hard work of each designer and candidate in displaying each work of art.

These batch is one of the bests in binibini history including the 50th edition, all gorgeous & crown worthy.

For sure , other countries will be wowed by our National costume after watching this . World class talga ang mga designs. Congrats to Graciella Lehmann and her team! Hi Dani, actually events like Press Presentation and this Fashion show are sort of a Preliminary competition for the Bb. Pilipinas. Plus the indoor interview or public speaking challenge (done usually in the Primer: Road to the Crown). There is no such a separate event for a Preliminary competition like on a Miss USA or Miss Universe, but these events prior to the pageant is considered one. 🤗

Good picks. # 7 is great but I think on a judge's point of view, it might not be enough coz they are guided by a set of criteria which is depiction of culture & tradition. The mythical horse, looks more like a fantasy costume. On that note, there are other full packaged NatCos like that of Cyrille Payumo, Stacey Gabriel, Diana Mackey & # 8 Herlene Nicole Budol. On Budol alone, Angono's tradition of Higantes was highlighted thru giant Catriona. Cat herself is related to Angono as she has a "walk of fame" there. Its being Art Capital was also present thru colorful paintings on her cape done by a local artist. Plus, her pop persona as Hipon Girl from a small town was depicted. That Hipon persona itself brought pride to Angono & gained the attention of the public on a national or even to a global scale, making Herlene Nicole a current national icon for entertainment & an influencer with a strong presence on social media & other platforms.

My personal bet to win was of Bb.2 Kia Moreno's very detailed and intricate NatCos. It was the goosebumps moment for all of us when she came out on stage.

Hi thank you for reacting for the Bb. Pilipinas National Costume. Candidate 15 symbolizes the festival in Bulacan Province called Halamanan Festival. From the root word halaman means plants and the municipal have been producing so many plants that includes flowers and many more, so this is why it looks botanical. Additionally, it was designed by well-known designer, Marbin Garcia

Yes that was also my favorite costume even from years past. The minute I saw her glide on stage (without even knowing what it was) I wrote on my notes: "eerily beautiful". It was just spectacular. I wonder why we don't see these kind of costumes in the international level?

Number 7 is also one of my favorite costumes because of the meaning and how it was created. There’s a lot of thought process involved in it. I’m not a fan of number 8 because as what you said, there’s a lot going on with that costume and it’s not cohesive. I mean whats the purpose of those paintings in her cape and the giant at the back and the headpiece? It was just a bunch of materials pieced together and they called it a day. I love Mama Mary inspired costume as well. Very atypical.

So hard to choose the best here for me! They were all great Couture, Avant Garde & artistic Ingenuity rolled into one!! The illusion created by that white mythical horse as she moves & while those soft fabrics flow really grabbed our attention indeed!

For Number 8, where Candidate Number 8 is from, they have a festival called Higantes Festival or literally Festival of Giants. That is why it is that big.

because of it's ingenuity...intricacy...creativity and elegance i believe Candidate no.7 natcos is very strong and is a winner!... it has a wow factor and could compete with the brightest national costumes in the world!

I asked fashion design professors and they noted that however elaborate the national costume is, the important thing is that the costume must be artful enough and/or unmistakably representative of the province or country, even without all the added structure & contraptions. 🧑🏻‍🦰
