The real killer is the fact of having several glycemic spikes daily. Some people get them even from tomatoes or vegetables .Some people suffer serious issues with couple of spoonful's of sugar. Those who have massive thighs or plenty of muscle mass generally sponge up the sugar entering the blood stream within minutes. They can tolerate tons of cabs no problems. Marathoners live off them and cant train without building up glycogen reserves. There is a clear need to understand how your body handles starches and simple sugars. If you do plenty of workouts and have a muscular body carbs cant hurt you unless you are very lucky to suffer their wrath. In any event even if you dont eat them your body would make carbs from protein and fats you eat. Both low fat and low carb diets worked comparably in weight management. The fact of obessing over carbs would give you stress and make you gain wait. Dont fret over the starches and sugars.
