As a 20 year old who just started buying tools and doing basic wood working I’m very grateful you are starting this series. I’ve been learning pretty much everything I know so far from your channel and other RU-vidrs but from what I’ve seen there are not enough people going over the basics. Hey Zach! Thanks and I too have to admit that I typically use an impact... but I started with a drill and set the torque. After a while, you can "hear" the stopping point with an impact... I guess I've memorized the number of torque clicks lol. And your story is one of the reasons I do what I do... I have always used woodworking as my own place to focus all of my thoughts on what I'm working on... and then the feeling of accomplishment when you take "nothing" and make "something". I'm a huge supporter of mental health support as well as the military. If you know of any veterans woodworking groups send them my way. Thank you for your comment and a huge thank you for your service!

Love your concept of videos for what to do. I have been woodworking for some time and have found that I need better ideas, affirmation of present ideas, basics that I need to relearn and so much more. I have enjoyed your site, as you are a no nonsense teacher, upfront and don't rely on theatrics to get your point across. I love knowing about tools that work and the reminders on how to best use the tools we have, and new tools that make things easier as well teaching the do's and don't about the tools we have. A BIG YES TO THIS CONCEPT.

Great video super helpful, just started using my 720 jig and while I had the basics down your tip on skipping the impact driver for a drill when setting the screws has been a game changer for me.

This is by far the best and most informative video I have seen in regard to using a pocket hole jig and that includes those made by the manufacturers. Thank you!

Thank you for this video. I am just a hobbyist, going to try a craft show late this year. Pocket holes can be confusing. I wear out RU-vid and my kreg manuals every time I need to use them. Can be very hit or miss. Love the channel

great video. i think back to the basic series would be great, for newbies and for craftsmen that have been doing and building for a while. everyone needs a refresher from time to time

Thank you so much Matthew. I’m trying to learn everything I can. I want to be able to make a little extra $$$$ and build some of the planters and small projects that you have shown. My husband & 20 yr old son have no desire to do anything but cars and trucks. Oh, and fishing. Great video as usual . God bless you .

Thank you for sharing this information! I was always hesitant about the screws . Especially uses two thickness types of wood attaching together.
