People like to joke about Starscream, but he is actually pretty cool! Here are 10 awesome things about Transformers Prime Starscream. Music: The Builder - Kevin MacLeod Sunset - Metro Vice Will I? - Aderin 10 Sleepless Nights - Olivaw
Another point to add to the list: He's freakishly strong - he punches straight through Cliffjumper's chestplate, bare handed - he manages to hold up the giant boulder for a while, the one that Bulkhead (who's like 3 times his mass) was struggling with - he carries a giant fossil like it's almost nothing - he carries that big stack of energon cubes - he drags around his clone's body and Vehicon corpses He looks like a twig, but he's insanely strong, physically. Especially for his size.
Him being able to run on fumes kind of makes sense as he used to be an energon seeker before the war. You can seek out a lot more energon if you don't need to consume much yourself.
I really like the interactions that happen due to him being a jet. Megatron flinging him around when he flees, jumping off of optimus to get away, knockout having to ride on his wing to get away, etc. I've always loved those moments.
And his transformations are so smooth. I remember Starscream boosting about this in an episode of TFP. I think it was the episode when Megatron used the cortical psychic patch to determine Starscream's true intentions. SS said something like, "You gotta admit, I transform in style." 🤣
if it weren't for Megatron's twisted and totally unreasonable pride Megatron could have had his desired control not only over Primus, but also Unicron himself
@@kovval8835 fair point but you have to remember that starscream shot him with the mining tool laser if I remember correctly and optimus was wounded but knowing Optimus yeah he would've survived
Starsceam can certainly pull out a badass moments from time to time, when I watched TFP as a kid, the moment that shocked me most was when he scratched arcee’s side in Partners. And it’s not just TFP starscream, a lot of scream’s have pulled out the odd cool or threatening moment, armada starscream is sword wielding badass, animated starscream, while close to g1 starscream was a pretty central antagonist and was the most dangerous villains of s1 before megatron resurfaced, hell even g1 starscream has his moments.
Even Movie Starscream quickly and effortlessly disabled Ironhide and Ratchet in the first film, not long after a one-bot bombing run that left his targets scattered and scrambling, and Bumblebee's legs crippled. And that was MOVIE Starscream!
You forgot about Cybertron Starscream when he fought 11 autobots and got the omega lock Hell, he was also this close to kill Primus before he was awakened
Yeah, when I first saw Starscream gut Arcee, I was horrified. I legitimately thought she was going to die. And seeing her just get beaten up like a rag doll by Starscream was painful to watch.
I love when you talk about starscream...you actually acknowledge what makes him a great character instead of a wimp who gets pushed around, while also not being bias
- Starscream was also resourceful in the fact he stored energon from the mines away from the decepticons if he would ever need it - he was a good commander and probably actually took time to train the vehicons as they seem to be stronger when under the command of starcream as opposed to megatron he also can hover as a jet and that makes him powerful XD
Very resourceful indeed. It’s also very sensible to use the Apex Armor when near Predacon. An equivalent to this is police officers and trained military use body suits when training their dogs.
@@dangamertop9253 We know Prime Megatron is sadistic but he wasn’t always and certainly before his mental deterioration, he saw Starscream had value as his second-in-command above anyone else. Being a pain resistant punching bag is just an extra, not the reason he’s there.
I know I’m late, but what I think is best about Starscream is that he is smart enough to run. There are so many characters in shows that fight till the end but Starscream is one of the few that is smart enough to run away when he is outmatched. He knows his limits and is not afraid to look cowardly and run, that deserves respect.
He's way braver he gets credit for. Consistently in almost every iteration is usually the only decepticon who questions Megatron's decisions, he actually tries to make an extremely risky bargain with the omega keys to Megatron himself to get back with the Decepticons, and if he were a total coward, he wouldn't have even participated in a lot of the battles, nor would have bothered trying to save Breakdown from M.E.C.H. (Megatron didn't want to lift a finger and left Breakdown to his luck, Starscream disobeyed his orders and secretly gathered a squadron to rescue Breakdown despite how dangerous MECH and the autobots are.)
Reason #11: he’s so expressive in prime and while he’s not my favorite character in prime I just love how animated he is. I know for a fact that whoever was animating starscream was either having a field day or probably interned at Pixar
Personally I think Starscream could par with Megatron if he didn’t have crippling self-confidence issues, he definitely has the cunning for it. If I remember correctly lore wise in the comics, he was one of the greatest leaders Cybertron ever had.
I think ppl forget he’s a second commander of a hyper intelligent and successful alien race. Much like vegeta once was. He’s also extremely adaptable and intelligent. If we were talking realistically. The starscreams of the world get very far. Over the megatrons of the world that may be bigger and more inspirational. But not as built for success in the long term due to lack of adaptability Think of starscream as a hyena and megatron a lion. And if u look past lion king. U can see which is more successful He’s like Tyrion Lannister. Wit and adaptability overcompensating for obvious shortcomings.
As someone who has been raised in an abusive environment and was nearly groomed into having sex with a 50 year old man while I was only 18. I can safely say that Starscream's fear of Megatron doesn't come from fear of pain or even death but fear of how much control he has over his life. It wasn't the fear of these things that made me terrified what scared me was the fear that someone else had total control over my life and body. Starscream will always be my comfort character because he makes me feel seen and validated even if he deserved better in the end.
@@FreudSigmundBigAss the short version is that my parents were abused as kids so they thought it was normal. And the guy who tried to groom me was a regular at the gas station I worked at. Because of my past I had very low self esteem and he was really good at making me feel pretty and loved so when he asked for sex and I said no he tried to tell me that sex was the highest for of love and intimacy. Thankfully I came to my senses before I did anything is regret, I told my boss and coworkers and they banned him from the store. And good news my parents actually started going to therapy so we've actually healed a lot of the trauma and I have a good relationship with them now. Soon this story does have a good ending.
I hope this video inspires somebody to make a Starscream reaction video. Maybe a little animated Starscream in the corner of the screen watching and listening to this whole video reacting to it. With his body language saying: “I am great, aren’t I?”
I swear, if it weren't for the writers constantly pushing him down, along with the rest of the main cast's PLOT ARMOUR, Starscream would completely rule the TFP Universe. His plans always fail by a combination of his enemy's dumb luck, and the fundamental stupidity of all fictional characters ever. If he ever fought all out, he would probably be on equal footing with, or even above Soundwave. Hear me out. they both have similar skillsets, and before y'all say "OH, BUT WHAT ABOUT LASERBEAK", he'd either shoot Laserbeak out of the sky with a missle, or take him out of commission with his CLAWS, and use Soudwave's anger at laserbeak being hurt against him. Now I know SOMEBODY is gonna mention the tentacles we occasionally see Soundwave use, and I say to that, STARSCREAM HAS FREAKING CLAWS. Starscream'll just shred them, and then Soundwave will be leaking energon. Starscream is the winner of that fight, no questions asked.
Your right.... Its a shame we never had the chance to see strascream fighting and beating soundwave who is overated as fuck..... So much waisted potencial because of PLOT ARMOR
Well, since we have Starscream appreciation day, here is my chance to talk about what I consider to be the second greatest Starscream moment in the entire Transformers franchise (the first is his sacrifice in Transformers: Armada and it's not even close). The moment I want to talk is Starscream standing up to Megatron in episode 5 of Transformers: War For Cybertron: Kingdom. Megatron has grabbed Statscream, holds him above a cliff and prepares to finish him off. Up to that point, Megatron was getting more and more frustrated with Starscream. We started with Starscream getting promoted as leader of the Seekers, then Starscream started trying to undermine Megatron, until Starscream started his own betrayal scheme with Dinobot and Black Arachnia. Megatron had enough of Starscream's BS at that moment and was ready to kill him...but Starscream told him the truth about Galvatron. This is one of Starscream's main characteristics. His cunning. He knew what to say to bring Megatron to his side. But, my friends, this is not even close the reason as to why this scene is so fantastic. Bravery does not mean absense of fear. Bravery means overcoming the fear. At that point, Starscream was terrified. He was getting visions of the monstrosity known as Unicron and his abusive leader was holding him from the edge of a cliff and ready to execute him. But what made WFC Starscream stand out from other Starscreams is that everything he did, all the betrayals and schemes, they were done with the Decepticon cause at mind. WFC Starscream showed that he cared for the cause and for his fellow Seekers and he wanted to become leader because he believed that he was the one who could truly do what needed to be done. At that moment, Starscream was getting haunted by visions of a greater threat, he was cornered by someone bigger and stronger than him who refused to listen to reason, he was terrified and one step away from certain doom...but he still found the courage to do what needed to be done. How Megatron responded to the revelation about Galvatron? He got confused. He hesitated. He didn't know what to do. When Starscream offered his help, Megatron tried to undermine him. This is what he was doing in the whole Trilogy. He was either forcing people to his will or trying to make others look worse than him. And Starscream didn't need to say or do much to prove him wrong. "You can't do anything right!" "I can fly." Megatron was angry, confused, he didn't even remember what he was fighting for at this point. But Starscream regained his courage, knew what he was fighting for and proved his own words correct by doing what needed to be done (stopping Megatron) and he did that in style. This scene becomes even better if we take into consideration Starscream's reputation to lots of writers and fans as a weak pathetic useless b@$%&. This scene made me respect the character of Starscream even more and after seeing him be the punching bag for basically everyone, especially Megatron, seeing him own Megatron like that is so satisfying. Many people say that Elita-1 is the best character in the WFC Trilogy, but I'm not one of them. Yes, Elita-1 was great, but I feel Starscream was this trilogy's best character. He is the one who gets the most and the more consistent growth, he is the one who we see get to the spot he is now and he is the one who gave us the best scene in the entire trilogy and one of the best moments in all of Transformers. #RespectForStarscream
personally I just liked his insanity (After the whole golden disc thing) but you do prove a good point I really owe the series a rewatch. Also yeah, loved the "I can fly" line
Yeah and to think if unicorn hadn't threatened him he would have won, I have this weird headconnon that unicorns hate Starsceam cause he always gets in his way, cause I mean look at IDW, ARMDRA,G1,WFC: Earthrise cause in every time or shape or from Starsceam get in the way
Starscream reminds me of chamberlain from dark crystal. His position in the antagonists hierarchy’s constantly shifting. He can make quick allies even when people know better to trust him, and he seems wimpy at most times until he has these sudden scary moments.
If you consider the overall franchise Starscream is the only cosmically powered bot to kill a majority of the cast. Repeatedly. And also possess others when offlined or be possessed himself when online, which is pretty cool to think about.
Starscream's biggest asset is that while you know he'll scheme and betray for power, he doesn't usually repeat the methods if he can help it. He can get extremely unpredictable and ocasionally hard to permanently counter. And while he might not be the best physical fighter compared to Megatron, he's arguably the Decepticon high court resident trickster, most of his victories are based around misdirection, sabotage, and in a physical fights he's well known for his speedy manouvers over typical brute force.
The Autobots labelled Starscream as ‘unpredictable’ which therefore makes him more dangerous than Megatron (who is quite predictable and doesn’t change his plans unless someone like Starscream proposes a better plan).
Honestly, Starscream is just hands down the best boi. 👌🏾 I love how complex and calculated his character is. He's really good at acting and knowing when to act weak and pathetic to appear less threatening. He even goes as far as to flutter his wings and lower them at times. The one SS moment that I will never get over is how SS actually saved Arcee when he had the perfect opportunity to kill her. She was trapped and ready to die, but instead of killing her Starscream mentioned how she once spared his life and he ends up sparing hers. I thought that was a very powerful moment for him because it really didn't benefit him in anyway. But he clearly still has a bit of honour in some way. And don't even get me started on his transformations. They're so smooth! Prime Starscream is my absolute favourite version of Starscream. 🤩
Another surprising thing about this particular Starscream is that he actually manages to pull and Eviler than Thou on Megatron the only other Starscream to do that is the Cyberverse Starscream and that particular Starscream is on Unicron's level of evil.
Ah I bet he be grateful to have them around, give him a bit of a confidence boost and have bot who understand him and while i can see them not going rogue, I see them trying to get him to come and protect him from Dreadwing and stoping him from taking over the decepticons at the end of predacons rising and getting him to calm down during the nemesis takeover
I must confess; even if I paying him no sympathy it was always interesting to watch after him, to see that he will come up with or how he would escape deadly situations; 'cause he as smart as hell and that makes him a real kind of trouble for others.
Starscream in G1: NoOoOOo MeGaTrOn Is ScArY!! Starscream in Prime: I can live on little energon and adapt to situations easily. Not to mention I'm strong as fuck.
Starscream is deadly, fast, adaptable, agile and creative, a really good seeker and a tough warrior, even a good leader, well, someone has chenge his mind about Screamy 😅, in some parts Don´t forget his style, movements and heels 😏
I've always felt bad for starscream cuz of how megatronic abuses him and after watching this if he was real I would want to be his best friend because I'm therapist in my friends so since starscream seems like he needs a therapist if he's real I'd read it would be there
Among the great points you made here, one moment that stuck with me in Prime, is Starscream’s rage dive at Optimus as the Prime ruins his ice melting plan. Good chance he would have killed or severely injured Prime, if Megatron didn’t interfere. G1 fans can also insert Skyfire’s fate here and that adds to the rage: stopping him from recovering his old partner.
I'm wondering why starscream besides these advantages seems to be pathetic wimp so many times, Dreadwing or Soundwave abused by Megatron like that will give him at least a decent fight (before being trashed into pieces btw). I think with enought martial arts training and upgrading his body into bigger, stronger frame starscream will gain some confidence boost and become badass villain. Btw, first starscream concept was rejected by the writers, because he looked "like he can stand a chance against Megatron"
Well, to be fair, one of Starscream's strengths could be that he doesn't look threatening compared to the other Decepticons, which allows him to inadvertently get away with more and get closer to others than if he were a bulky warrior type like Skyquake and Dreadwing.
if he was strong and bulky it'd ruin Starscream we know; lack of strength makes him find other way and think to survive; otherwise, would he need to improve his intelligence skills if he could just use force to get anything he needs? I can see why writers regected the concept; that makes him balanced. Btw, armada starscream is example of that I'm saying. He looks "like he can stand a chance against Megatron" but not cunning at all.
I mean, if he could physically stand a chance against Megatron, then this late into the war he'd either be leader or dead. Megatron keeps him around because for all his treachery he's a damn good second in command and Megatron knows he has the physical strength and position needed to keep him in line. If Starscream actually stood a chance in a straight fight, this barely balanced dynamic would fall apart. As for the wimp thing... okay the is plain theory crafting I think being around Megatron actively makes Starscream worse. At the start of the show, Megatron was gone for three years, and what happens? Starscream gets competent. He builds their side up to the monster it is at the start while escaping Auotobot notice and he is THE ONLY Deception to successfully kill an Autobot in the entire show. He's confident, he's got no imminent threat or need to prove himself, and for once he does his job and ISN'T a total wimp. Then Megatron shows up and all that just goes out the window.
Yeah, after thoroughly watching Emperor's several Starscream analysis videos, Starscream has definitely become one of my most favourite TFP characters, the second favourite, to be precise. The first one of course being lord Megatron, simply because of his story, his sheer might, and his unquestionable charisma.
It's weird how starscream a former upper can sevive on little enrgon. But I thought megatron would handle low fuel being an ex miner and gladeator because I darot the pit boss or the old area master would give workers a good meals maybe to keep them easy to control.
I'm really not the biggest fan of Starscream, but this video is excellently put together. You've highlighted some stuff that I definitely glossed over as a viewer that definitely bumps him up in my book. I kinda wish we knew more about who he was before the war beyond energon seeker/guard bc the resilience you've highlighted is WILD
Great video and there's a reason Starscream is tied with Knock Out as my favorite transformer, I actually think I lean just a tad towards Starscream but not by much because me trying to choose between him and Knock Out is like Brock trying to choose between Offer Jenny and Nurse Joy. XD
Man, Imma glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed Starscream acted scared and pathetic when Arcee wanted to fight him to make her think he was too much of a pussy to do it when he was just trying to get her to bend down so he can injure so he can use it as an advantage.
Starscream is the only character in the franchise to be consistently awesome. Even the movie version is *comparetively* awesome. G1 awesome Beast Wars awesome Armada awesome Cybertron awesome Animated awesome Prime awesome RID awesome All I have'nt listed were seriously not as bad as they could have been or have only sucked because in what he appeared also sucked.
@@fangirldreamer748 I Said comparetively. Every movie Decepticon is on a writing in level equally appauling garbage. However, unlike the other hundred "characters", he at least has a sliver of his original personality remaining, which makes him superior in my book. So consider my grade an F+ instead of an F
Me: *annoyed after having to fight my laptop to get it to go up right* This video: *exists* Me, instantly cheered up: Glorious. Finally, some good $%@#ing Starscream content. srsly though this is a very, VERY good analysis. I never even noticed that starscream was running off of so little energon until you pointed it out! Absolutely awesome vid!
Do you remember when Soundwave said his only words in TFP? If it was Starscream instead of him, it would make probably more sense. So yeah, Screamy Rocks.
I love how Starscream is basically the Grigori Rasputin of the decepticons, while his leader is just a big strong guy who’s always high on cybertronian zombie-drugs.
The content I initially subscribed for and never got disappointed It's always so pleasant to see how your favourite character gets appreciation he deserved, thank you so much for it :з
The Cybertronian Bear Grylls *Adapt. Overcome. Survive* This man is the goat. Incredibly crafty, creative, resilient, adaptable, agile, fast. He has my respect 👏👏🔥🔥
He is my favorite in every show except the movies, we don't talk about the movies. You could say I am a giant fanatic perhaps a little obsessed with him.
Prime Starscream is an amazing strategist and a survivalist tbh he makes a better leader than even megatron all he lacks is a commanding presence which is unfortunately the most important quality of making a successful leader but there is a reason why he is second in command and even before the war had a high position because he knows what it takes to get things done the smart way unlike megatron whom yea knows how to command and lead but lacks the quality of being able to adapt and take advantage of the situation correctly instead taking the more louder option getting things done but only if it cripples his opponents morale as well which will always come with some downsides which makes primes megatron and starscreams dynamic so interesting megatron clearly knows that starscream can easily make a better leader if he gets the chance so that's why megatron keeps him on such a tight leech so he can benefit of starscreams strategies but also cripple his confidence reducing his potential to usurp megatron and take over as more successful leader with the loyalty of his decepticons which u can clearly see with how megatron treats him in series never actual teaching him how to lead just how to stay subservient to him
I said it once I’ll say it a million time. Starscream would call Megaton names and insult him for a scrap metal given the chance and I believed that *that* take gut
I think Starscream was able to survive on such little energon was because his T-cog was removed. Just a theory, but maybe maintaining a T-cog requires large amounts of energon for cybertronian bodies, which is why he was able to survive so long without it.
Spite against the Universe is what sustains SS, Energon is just for flavor. He will work with anyone if it means he gets to live another day to spite the universe.
