You know when I first heard there story (manly transformers prime's back story from the lore books) before transformers one,I thought that they messed up when they said several time that Optimus and Megatron or Megatronus were like brothers but in the lore books it look more like hey were Acquaintances and barely even friends, but from what I've seen of the trailer I'm liking there sibling dynamic so far
As an Indian I watched the entire series in hindi when was kid, I don't know if this is his actual hindi dub or not but I still remember that in the actual hindi dub Starscream sounded very awesome
Soundwave can just open a space bridge and teleport the predacon into a black hole or something kinda like how he just teleported arachnid to cybertrons moon
Hot Rod, Hotshot, (this) Smokescreen, there's a reason they are my favorite Transformer. (I say that singular because they're basically the same character renamed and rebranded each time.) The young, skilled, impetuous racer who makes mistakes, suffers the consequences, learns from them, and eventually replaces Optimus as team leader (even if just for a short time). It kills me that Hasbro keeps trying to wipe him from the slate in order to prop up Bumblebee. I love Bee's character too, don't get me wrong, but he isn't Hotshot. And as this show demonstrated, they work better as separate characters who grow off each other. And of the three (Hot Rod, Hotshot, Smokescreen), Hotshot will always be my favorite, because Transformers Armada was my introduction into the lore of Transformers. But like I said, in my mind this version of Smokescreen is the same character, just renamed.
William Shatner/Chris Pine as James T. Kirk Tim Allen/Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear Charles Martinet/Chris Pratt as Mario and Peter Cullen/Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax/Optimus Prime They are four Chris: Pine, Evans, Pratt and Hemsworth
Starscream put his own interests first, he fails to command respect, his leadership caused infighting, and he absolutely was aggressive. He lashed out against his subordinates and alows his ego to get the better of him. The reason for him not holding grudges because he wouldn't be able to make good on it, if he did, he'd absolutely act on it. Also, he's a liar. If Optimus did bow, there was no garentee he'd make good. Megatron was crazy, but he used to have the best intrest for cybertron at heart and he even believed he did. And Starscream absolutely is a coward. He avoids fighting every chance he gets. He lost every one on one fight he had.
This has communist rewriting all over it. Moral ambiguity - Check Faultless "Oppressed" class - Check Don't look at people (bots) as individuals - Check.
What are your thoughts, do you think this movie is a perfect fit for my tastes? It seems to tick all of the right boxes that makes The Amazing World of Gumball my favorite thing ever. (Although I don't like any of the other 2010-present CN shows I've seen so far unfortunately) That show is also known for having good humor that appeals to all ages with well structured natural progression, endearing characters, lots of creativity, and even some serious down to Earth moments when they are deserved. (And as someone who has AuDHD I can confirm that Gumball himself is also the perfect representation of that to the point where I fully expect them to straight up reveal and validate him for having it in the actual show itself someday, that's how good their writing gets) The reason why I am hesitant towards this movie is not because of the poor trailers, but mainly because trying to find something that strikes a balance with all of these qualities in the right way is *very* hard to come by, especially nowadays, so I apologize for saying that seeing such high praise for a Transformers movie of all things sounds hard to believe. I can be very picky when it comes to analyzing the quality of something. MINOR SHORT JOKE SPOILERS DESPITE ME NOT SEEING THE MOVIE YET: I did already get some chuckles with Optimus doing his middle finger, characters getting excited over miners, and Optimus asking someone to "Watch this" as he tries to "transform" though. *Lol*
Star Trek Beyond had an eerily similar problem. The film itself was a grounded sci-fi story with fantastical elements, yet the first trailer made the tone feel like Fast & Furious. It was the lowest grossing of the Reboot Trek films primarily cause of that first impression. I think Transformers One will barely get it's budget back thanks to word of mouth but it could've made more if the trailers showcased what the film was gonna feel like.
I kinda like the show a bit but that doesnt say much because i kinda like a lot of transformers media thats considered unpopular, with an exception of Bayformers. But this show could be fixed in a massive comically simple way if you replaced Optimus with Ultra Magnus and have him carry the matrix of leadership after the big final war in Prime. The lack of experience and need for training makes sense there.
My headcanon for this scene is Nemesis Prime is still Prime inside so he keeps making the Decepticons under his command revert to their basic programming of Cybertronian service bots and construction workers. Which is why they're all just so happy to help, its what they were originally designed to do before Megatron started his revolution.
I actually went to see it last night and it was definitely worth worth the price of admission. And I also was able to watch it mostly by myself and enjoy it in the best seat in the house. It actually reminded me of the Aligned, Animated and G1 continuities, which were my favorites. So this movie gets my stamp of approval.
I love how you can clearly see that probably at early stages of writing Smokescreen was supposed to be Hot Rod/Rodimus. You can actually have that vìbe with some parts of Team Prime. It was revealed that Bulkhead was meant to be Ironhide at first, but then they found out that movie would be killing him off so to not confuse kids, they shifted him to Bulkhead. Wheeljack smells too much like Drift.
I saw the movie and I have two things too say WE WON This movie is better than any fucking live action movie hell I'd say this is better then the 1986 movie
I LOVE how even the cameo characters (especially the big 3 'cons) display SO MUCH character in such little screentime - ESPECIALLY STARSCREAM EVEN THOUGH HE BASICALLY DID NOTHING LOL
