I own one, a 2017 with the MP215 and absolutely agree with almost everything thing you have said here, it will be a legend in years to come, it is already a cult classic in it’s own time ! Smile every time I drive it. Only thing I can not agree on and I think you’re stretching it a bit, is regarding the exhaust sound ... it has none ... the standard exhaust does not sound good, it’s far too quiet.
Watching your videos is what made me buy my ST, loved it, best car I've ever driven, and then it got stolen on Tuesday, use a wheel lock guys! The one day I forget to put mine on, absolutely gutted!
Still currently sorting the insurance out buddy, luckily I had GAP but I lost my no claims and as a 20 year old guy my insurance has rocketed which is so frustrating as it wasn't my fault! Only had the car two months :(
+Garyjames1701 thanks man, hopefully I can get a reasonable ST again, and take more precautions this time! Can't wait to see an RS video from you, keep up the cool videos mate :)
I just picked one of these up last week. A blue 2015 5-door with light front damage. $2900 USD...repaired for $6K all in. Better than $17-18K used lol. This video makes me very excited to finish it next week and give it a go ;) .
Hi mate, I have actually been thinking of buying a 208 gti, been thinking about that or the st3, both which I would eventually map, what is different from the 208 to the ST , thanks !
@@dec392 I know I'm a year late but if you get the 208 GTi you'll get the 1.6 thp that has a lot of problems with the timing chain! I test drove 2 DS3's(same engine) and both were making strange noises from timing chain. Went with the ST and... Damn! Glad I did it!!!
Great video mate, I agree with all your points, particularly the last 5! I first came across your channel when I watched your "living with the fiesta ST" video, before I took the plunge! Im now the proud owner of a new MO ST3 and am seriously loving it! It's just hit 1k miles so I took it out into the Cotswolds Saturday to stretch its legs and wow! what a car! I just got this video recommended by RU-vid and also went back and watched your vlogs. I watch STG, SOL and SHMEE etc and I agree it's great to see someone driving cars that are achievable to "normal" people and you come across great on camera so well done! I'm very envious of your RS order, that car is something special!! I'd love to be in a position to order one of them but as a 19 year old even if I could afford the car I wouldn't be able to run it, haha! I'm looking forward to some RS content though (albeit in 12 months time) and looking forward to more fez content in the mean time, keep up the good work!
Cheers for the reply, just realised i follow you on instagram as well, haha. Enjoy the states, also a question about your exhaust, is it the standard exhaust? I didnt think the ST exhaust had any noise to it at all really but you can hear a fair bit in your clips.
great video again Gary and thanks for the reply on the previous one regarding the build quality, will be looking to purchase one the back end of this year.
well i was thinking of buying a white st3 and after watch this video and others im more intrigued and more excited to get one. haven't read a bad review.
Only one. Fiesta ST is new Honda CRX vtec.... Everyone has been waiting for CRX return what Honda never did because they are simply stupid but Ford has never let us down. So thank you Ford....
+Garyjames1701 yea was looking at getting the springs done.. gonna wait till the warranty gone and probably upgrade to the mr230.. but gonna wait and try the 215 for a few months with the catback
Beenbwatching ur vids since the ST review vids and been wanting one ever since. We in aussie are lucky enough to get the ST-2(since lauch in 2013 only ST-1 is available and not options could be added as it is imported just in one spec) pack here this sept but the only difference is that we dont get the beautiful partial leather seat instead we get cloth versions of the recaro. A question, with a new generation coming up for next year, you recon its still a good purchase or its vetter to wait for the next ST? Well i think the ST wont be launched at the same time as the regular ST, probably 2-3years after. Great vid!
Car Focused watching your vlogs has made me want the ST even more mate. Living in Cornwall, we have some roads just made for the ST. Firm ride is the only thing that bothers me but like you say that's the pay off for the handling. Our main car is an Audi A3 so that will always be the comfort drive. The ST would be my runaround
Have you already driven a Ford Focus RS? If yes: Would you prefer the RS over the ST or perhaps keep both (I got a ST200 and am thinking about selling it for buying a Focus RS)?
Great review gary, im planning to get one within the next couple of weeks or so, and i am definelty going to be upgrading to the mp215 at some point. What exactly is included in the mp215 package other than a remap?
+Garyjames1701 completely agree! Just prefer the looks of the clio by far! Love the 5 door coupe look, also isn't the clio more torquey? Like off the line much faster?
A lot , if you want a quick fiesta go for the 1L ecoboost u can get them up to 160bhp wich is pretty nippy had one and loved it moved to the ST on my 19th birthday
@@kylemartin1229 u can't go wrong with a 2005 Renault Clio, not the fastest car but fuck me are they a laugh to drive. You can proper rag them about the corners and twisty road, plus they're not that bad to insure or run, proper cheap to buy as well.
Hi dude. Great review! I'm thinking of getting myself one. Possibly a molten orange coloured ST . Just a quick question. How reliable is the car? Most probably going to buy a 2014 model which is second hand.
Nice video. I'm picking up my fiST tomorrow and will drive it for a month or two and get used to it, but I am hoping to get the Mountune MP215 upgrade. Can you tell me a little about the upgrade and does it make a noticeable difference? Cheers
Is the ST really that good? Im facing a dilemma: I have to choose between an older Evo VIII vs new Fiesta ST. One is a moder hot hatch the other is a "legend", but old. I want something new. But thats an EVO...
can't wait to get rid of mine. rattles constantly, ride is so crashy also. Had worse cars but I was used to having audi's before and everything feels a bit cheap. Great for a country hack but thats about it
Went for an A3 S line. Interior quality is in a different realm than the fiesta and I'm only paying a tiny bit more a month. was a good car to have but not to live with every day
***** Well I haven't sat in the golf, but my friends have merc and bmw and a Lexus in all you see the Quality of the. Cabin is nice , I made a horrible mistake Sold my focus ST, mk2 needed a few quid spent on it I had it for about 5 years pit had been a good friend lots of laughs etc, I wanted something bigger and more Eco, didn't want to do diesels, bought a Mondeo 62 regs Eco boost titanium x 1.6 and remapped it , It built quite well for a ford I got no rattles or squeaks yet , plenty of gadgets, but it's no racing car more like a canal boat , I don't even know why I bought it now. The fiesta is too small but I'm considering a 13plate focus ST,
Being lazy and not wanting to google whats the Mountune pack cost and did you fit some parts yourself. I want an induction kit and to get the ecu remapped?
mountune 215 upgrade will be roughly 600 fitted, include ecu remap, induction kit and different air feed. this remap can be fitted at most for main dealers and doesn't affect your warranty :)
thanks ryan i can get it slightly cheaper from collins performance in congleton though they have a custom setup thats hard to beat and allows you to remap at your own convenience :) thanks for the info though
