I lost my Westie, Cameron, to Westie lung Disease (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis). He was 14. I loved him dearly and his death left a hole in my heart that, two years later, still hasn’t healed. I know that when the time is right, I’ll get another Westie. I love all dogs, but Westies are the best…the BEST!
We lost ours over 4 years ago and i still miss him, my partner had to get another westie very soon after and I was nowhere near ready for another but she was adamant she wanted another westie asap, I adore our westie (Aaron) but losing Dougal was and is still painful…. I know you are hurting but I promise you won’t regret getting another they are just the most wonderful companions you will never lose the memories don’t worry about that, just get another little fella and have an amazing time …👍
Sami looks cool in the convertible! Does anyone else think that Westie's sometimes look like little lambs? One day my husband was walking our Westie, and a little boy came up to him and asked, 'Why are you walking that lamb' So funny, my husband explained it was a Westie :)
Hi Miruna, Bobby and Sami! No # 11 westies r huggable. They r so adorable that all you want to do is to hug them. Love the pictures of Sami wearing the glasses, especially the round black pair . Sami is so awesome!!.
Hi , I saw one of your videos where you shared Sami’s allergies. Just want to share that my westie (Happy) also had similar allergies and we started giving him Cytopoint which is a subcutaneous injection that you can administer for environmental allergies. It really made Happy’s life so good and cheerful. BTW Love your channel 😊
Top 10 reason why from a westie owner 1) stubborn 2) Anti social apart from close family 3) curious 4) Smart 5) Adorable 6) fussy eaters 7) cheeky 8) best family dog 9) Loves children 10) loves to chase birds, squirrels and cats.
Thank you so much for this video, Miruna. Sami makes me smile. His beautiful smile also makes me jealous that I can't get my Westie, Duncan, as clean as Sami around the mouth. I'm going to take your advice from your grooming video and start asking Duncan's groomer to cut his beard shorter than she does now, so the yellowing isn't as prominent. 🙂
My little buster is 8... he's our 3rd and would recommend the breed to anyone! My young daughter adores him and he's great with her too.. Incredible and amazing little 🐕dogs
Hi all. My husband and I are considering adopting a Westie puppy (8 wks old). We have a baby, who would be a little shy of 6 months old when bringing this puppy home. This would be our first puppy. I’ve read articles saying Westies are not good with babies (territorial, hunting, biting/snapping)…. As owners, what would anyone with a Westie advice?
I think you should wait to get a Westie or any dog until your child is older. A Westie would then be great fun for your child, as they are very playful.
I lost Duffy a year ago and I am seriously thinking of getting another Westie this coming summer. It is so hard to find a good, reputable breeder in my area (northern CA) If anyone on these comments has any connections, I would appreciate it. Thank you!
I am so sorry for your loss. Another Westie is always a great idea and I hope it helps. I don't know how you could find a reputable breeder, but have you tried emailing AKC to ask, maybe they have a list of breeders in your area? I have no idea how it works in the US, but this is what I did in Portugal and that's how I found Sami :)
@@cathydanielson7423 my boy Elvis. Loves his little sister. He is a grump with everyone that isn't him family. Apart from children he loves them. He follows them round all day 😙❤️
@@WestieVibes Yesterday I decided that I would go out for a walk with a West High Weight Terrier without a tennis ball. We taught her to walk without a leash in the yard. I let her off the leash in a large yard next to a workout area and a football field. Nobody played football. The kids rode the bike around the yard my dog didn't like it and she started chasing them and barking at the bikes and started yelling at the dog. In the end, I returned home and brought her a tennis ball. I'd rather throw a tennis ball at her than have her bite someone or chase a cat.🤔
