Transportation, Crime, Stray dogs and Sea lions (got away from SeaWorld) Music, OMG, yes we only have Spanish music and Mariachi bands on every corner. Please stay away from here... go to Austin...they're weird and they want to keep it that way.
It’s San Antonio we are mostly Hispanics and Mexicans here so yes we are gonna have alot of tejano and Mexican music here especially since we do host the tejano music award here not to mention Selena did come to San Antonio a lot
Check this out. This was published only a couple days ago: www.ksat.com/news/local/2022/05/02/town-hall-aims-to-find-solutions-to-san-antonios-stray-animal-problem/
I like that you cite your sources. We're a pretty big city though, if you just don't live in like 12 neighborhoods you're pretty safe from roaming dogs. 😅
Yes, and those pesky seals running all around the place make the stray animal issue even worse. I hear that one day a seal escaped from Sea World bred with the local rats and now there is a huge seal/rat population in SA.
San Antonio is a terrible place to live. There’s way too much sunshine and it’s way too affordable compared to other large cities. The food is too good and the people are too friendly. Speaking of the people, they’re always celebrating something so it’s like the party never ends. Please don’t move here. Besides, we’re already full.
Compared to other cities on the west coast, I'll take San Antonio everytime. 8 of 10 things you said are b.s. Lived here 40 years. Never seen packs of dogs, sure as heck never seen a seal. About the two things you got right were the heat and the pollen.
Depends on where you live. But San Antonio is always working on the roaming dogs problem. I missed the part about seals, cute! Do they escape from Sea World?
After living in San Antonio for 7 years, I found it about 75% true compared to other places. The roaming dogs and violence depend on what neighborhood you live in. I have never had allergies and now it's a year long battle for me. The drivers are terrible and no one knows how to plan for their exit and move over sooner. You might want to try living somewhere else for a few years since you have gotten used to the status quo of San Antonio before you call this all BS. Now with that said this city still has a lot more pros than cons and has provided opportunities that I may not have seen otherwise.
@@es2056 they have also eliminated other brands of meat that were so delicious, and inserted their own brand instead, like Walmart, Sam's Club and Costco.
@@Acrosstheglobechannel Yes but fair competition is good. Way back in the early 1970's H-E-B and Kroger cut a deal to slice up central and south Texas into exclusive market territories. We had H-E-Bs and Krogers in the town where I grew up and suddenly there were no more Krogers - never to seen again and now H-E-B is a behemoth that does whatever it pretty much wants to.
Its run down and ghetto. Drivers are maniacs and the weather sucks. It's a trap of a city. You may be trying to dissuade people but I'm telling the truth. Don't believe me. Find out yourself when you are crying because you can't afford to go move back west.
Yeah. We have a pretty horrible place here. Please don’t move here. You wouldn’t like it. And we definitely won’t like YOU moving here. Visit, leave your tourist dollars and then go back home. Nicer for both of us!
@@robLV visiting Atlanta is one thing but moving there is another. But I’m talking about Atlanta Proper…the burbs are nice. Spent a lot of time in downtown Atlanta and it’s wild…especially at 11pm at the gas stations.
@@robLV Really?? When I was in Atlanta I was paying $2500 for a 2bd 1ba …..but yeah the crime in Atlanta is scary(had my car broken into 3 times and I was robbed at gun point in a 5 year span), the traffic is impossible, the pay doesn’t match the price at all and the people outside of the city proper and the nightlight is kinda shitty if you don’t like hip hop…..but it is really green and pretty. But so is Nashville, Charlotte, Birmingham, New Orleans, Charleston and Austin. I don’t think you value that the lushness same way when you grow up in the south. Lol
@@lanardfletcher1422 oh I value it. Where I grew up it’s never green. Always brown. And when the wind blows even a little bit…you see it bc dust/dirt is flying all over. When I moved to Mississippi I couldn’t believe how green everything was. Never went back to El Paso…. With Atlanta, you gotta live outside the perimeter…it’s kinda annoying bc all the good stuff is ITP but also the safest.
That's an understatement I lived in San Antonio since birth the people aren't nice at all and will pick fights with you for no reason at all as for tons of stuff to do thats untrue because San Antonio is like living out in New Braunfels or Leon Springs a dry lake.
@@mr.graves2364Google "understatement" I think you're using it wrong! And I'm only saying it because when I saw understatement I thought you were going to add even more positive reasons but was not the case.
shhhhhhh... it's being overrun by developers and have water issues as it is. Who cares what anyone on the outside thinks. It's the 7th largest city in the US . I would be happy if it "lost" in the size rankings.
So you are one of the people I can blame for your incompetent Audie Murphy VA hospital leading to my suicide attempt and eventually having to write a letter to Obama's White House in 2016 to get your VA to do their goddamned job? You are not welcome for my service. I would have left sooner, but it's hard to do so when you can't even manage to feed yourself. But hey there is a bright side here, I now live in California and the VA here is amazing. It really shows how Texas has the highest Veteran Suicide rate in America.
(1) Population is NOT diverse. (2) Small Town mindset. (3) Limited direct flights from the Airport. (4) Limited activities. (5) Limited (eg No NFL, MLB) sporting venues. (6) Heavy blue collar economy. (7) Terrible drivers is an understatement.
Please publish more of these videos. We like SA small. I just saw a report, our population is expected to increase by 77% over the next 25 years. A nightmare... Keep people out of here. ❤
I totally agree, this mentality of bringing people as well as businesses in started around the time when Henry Cisneros was mayor many years ago. Unfortunately, it still continues even now. The city craves the revenue. Along with the influx comes all the crime. As far as the hot days, it's only May and all this week the temps will be at or close to 100* Got to love the city, NOT!!!
It’s the liberal Californians moving here and bringing their liberal crud with them. Y’all made Kalifornia what it is, so stay there and live with what you did. Re elect the Pelosi’s over and over.
As a San Anton resident I know for a fact there are NO walrus in S.A. So where this stray dogs and walrus comes from is beyond me. Pay this this bobble head little attention
I don’t know where the hell you got the video of all those dogs roaming around but a lot of that video was not in San Antonio, Tx which makes the rest of your video doubtful. But yes people should please stop moving to San Antonio , Tx. Too many people are moving here and the prices of housing is going through the roof!
This dude exaggerates the truth about some of the things here in San Antonio. There's more positives than negatives that's why just about everyone is moving to the San Antonio / Austin area
There’s a ton of great things about San Antonio! The food, culture, landscape, wildflowers are just the tip of the iceberg. Central Texas is God’s country.
San Antonio sucks😂worst major city in Texas. Bad streets, stray dogs, bunch of Fat ignorant people, terrible drivers and highways, no diversity... yeah nah bro SA sucks lol. People who move to SA can’t afford Austin, nobody in there right mind would truly like this shithole.
@@ericpowell4350 I've lived here all of my life. What part of San Antonio are you from? I'm from the Southside. Some of the things you claim in your video I think were exaggerated to have enough content for your video. For example, stray dogs everywhere. Wtf? I guess it depends what part of town. There arent any stray dogs in my neighborhood. In the poor sides of town like the inner west side, south side, and east side there are strays but folks arent gonna wanna by a house or really hang out in those parts of town anyway. Just thought you were disingenuous in making some of the points in your video. I think I have to make my own video to debunk some if the things said in yours. Nice try though
Well this video is somewhat of an exaggeration. Yes, the allergies are bad, particularly in January with the juniper dust, but that's when you can take off to the coast for a few days. Weather is hot in the summer but not as bad as other places further south in Texas. The winters were mild but that has changed over the last few years with long lasting deep freezes--not much snow. I find San Antonians in general to be cautious drivers especially in wet weather. You do have your crazies like in any big city. I use public transportation and find it to be adequate. Sometimes the problem is the serpentine routes the buses take requiring you to transfer or walk a great deal. There are a lot of music options in SA but it is the southwest. Most unfortunately, the symphony has been on strike for quite a while. Crime you have in a lot of big cities and a lot if it happens after midnight. Same with the auto accidents. The smog claim is exaggerated. If you didn't watch the weather report, you'd never know.
FYI: I have lived here in San Antonio since 2007, and visited several times from 2003-2007. For further perspective, I have lived approx. 7 years in NY, CA, NC, and NJ, respectively before moving here. 10. Allergies: While I myself do not suffer from any allergies, for those that do - it's no joke here in San Antonio. It definitely affects most of the people I know. 9. Stray Animals: Well, you're more likely to see this as a problem in San Antonio proper (loose dogs in the neighborhood of the school I used to teach at downtown). However, there are numerous stray cats in the development I live in (a suburb off IH-10 on the far-North side). 8. Brutal Summers: I can think of only 3 places in the U.S. that are typically hotter than San Antonio: 3) Las Vegas, NV 2) Phoenix, AZ 1) Death Valley, CA. Some Summers are more forgiving (less brutal) than a Summer with a heat wave, drought, water restrictions, etc. Yes, there is humidity here (there are plenty of Summer storms) but nothing like the East Coast. So, no, it isn't a "dry heat". 7. Drivers: Ah... Every state I driven is notorious for the kinds of drivers. Here in San Antonio it's SELFISH drivers (and I say that knowing the foul-mouthed drivers in NYC). By the way, only place I've ever received a ticket in (and I've been pulled over numerous times in Jersey alone, AND I've driven through the cop-infested highways of Virginia). 6. Public Transportation: You'll need a car here. Seriously. Even with all the development since I've been here (I'm constantly behind numerous gravel trucks on the roads here), everything is just too far apart to rely on walking to and from, which I did for work as a teenager in a different state. Public transportation here is mostly for downtown. 5. Crime: Yeah, don't leave anything in your car that is visible from the outside that you don't want stolen. Our house was spray-painted when our development was new, mailboxes broken into, but here's a little perspective: Little old church ladies are quite vocal about carrying a gun and not thinking twice about shooting you dead if you misbehave at a grocery store, bank, etc. In fact, a guy held up a Popeye's here and when some teens came out of the bathroom his attention was distracted on them. That gave one of the patrons the opportunity to shoot him dead right there. Happens more often than you might think. Moral of the story? Don't mess with Texans! 4. Musical Taste: I happen to be a music teacher. I love Mariachi, Tejano, even the Polka bands at Wurstfest! Don't forget... we have George Strait! (Great country music). 3. Smog: Again, probably more so downtown, although during the Summers, even when there are no clouds, there always seems to be this "haze" in the atmosphere as though it could start pouring any moment now. 2. Snakes, Critters, & Deer: Okay, when I moved here in 2007, there was a massive cricket infestation - I'm talking of Biblical proportion - all over. Entire parking lots and walls of businesses blackened with crickets. In the lobbies, in classrooms, under tables in restaurants, at the checkout of stores, etc. I deal with snakes often, glue traps in the garage help. Pest defense is not only necessary, but Henry our "bug guy" is our hero! Yes, we've had scorpions in the house, brown recluses too, and outside I've legit seen black widows, tarantulas, etc. NOBODY sits on the grass here - as it's only a matter of seconds before the fire ants are all over you. Deer are quite common, so drive slow from dusk 'til dawn! 1. Quarries: Yeah, they're here, I see them. Never really been a problem though. Honestly, in the 5 states I've lived in, weather matters (no real natural disasters here to worry about, compared to CA, NC, NY, etc.) but ultimately it's people that make a place livable or unbearable. I have my complaints yet I've now lived here more than twice as long as any of the other 4 states I've lived in.
Yeah Good luck with that I guarantee once you start seeing how people really are and how easy it is to get killed or hurt you won't have nothing positive to say about San Antonio anymore.
Not to mention, the ridiculously high property taxes in San Antonio. I'm being taxed out of my home. The traffic here is absolutely horrible! It was never this way. Construction everywhere and yet, no improvements in traffic conditions.
I've lived in San Antonio TX for 20 years and my wife and I are counting the days we move out of here. I hate this place. Born in Houston, raised in San Antonio. I only live in SA because my father bought us a house here but when we get inheritance funds we are gone. Already planning our move. It sucks here. Allergies are the worst, literally. 100+ temps for months. Nothing to do. Boring. Basically living in mexico here. Alamo Heights is the nicest, richest, lowest crime neighborhood in SA. It's Beverly Hills 90210. It's where all the rich people live. Old money. That's where I lived and went to high school. No night life for singles. River walk sucks. Tons of fat people everywhere. Mexican Mafia drugs and violence. If moving to Texas, move to Houston. We outta here! Just has a bad feeling/taste to it.
Frankly, except for the rain, I don't know why but the drivers do become temporarily insane, I blame the driving problems on the influx of out of state transplants! Especially from California and Northern states! Especially slow traffic keeping on right. That was one thing my husband, a CA transplant always marveled at. Of course, there were always the exceptions! They WERE few a far between. As another commenter said, please stop moving to Texas, much less SA!! It used to be such a beautiful city. As we used to say, it was a big city with a small town feel.
Texans just don’t know how to drive in the rain. I grew up in El Paso and everyone lost their mind!! And it is, I think, unique to Texas where fast people drive in the fast lane. Out of towners use the whole road no matter the speed. So annoying!
You have to remember that SA is home to several military bases. It is known as "Military Town, USA" Lackland AFB, Randolph AFB, Fort Sam Houston. San Antonio drivers are from everywhere. That said, most of the assholes I see on the road do have TX plates.
Nah slick, don't blame us. People here can't drive rain or shine. It doesn't help that the highway system here is outdated, especially the way you enter and exit 410. There's no concept of passing lanes here and God forbid you let someone merge. It's like people don't want you to get in front of them because they have to be first in the bumper to bumper traffic. Yield signs on the access road are for decoration only. There's signs from here to Arkansas on 35 that say left lane for passing only and you get people who get onto the highway and cut all the way over to the left lane and drive under the speed limit. I've seen people do it at 3AM for absolutely no reason. Don't get me wrong, I like it here but I hate driving here. I've driven all over this state but you can always tell when you're getting close to SA because the jackassery begins.
you all are wrong, the problem is as a person in the automobile industry...no one gets drivers licenses anymore. most people dont know the rules. ive never seen so many people drive without licenses in my life. If you get pulled over without a license at worst you get a small ticket...If they started impounding cars of people with no license would quickly change things..Just getting an ID is what people do here
Native Texan here--I lived in the Seattle area for years after getting out of the military up there and going to work in the tech sector. Drivers in the Pacific Northwest are some of the worst in the entire country. It's the only place I've ever seen where drivers slow DOWN on a freeway on-ramp. It rains there constantly and they still can't seem to figure out how to drive in the rain. They are every bit as bad as Texas drivers that way and they don't have the excuse of having our sudden cloud bursts where you literally can't see s*** and streets turn into rivers in the space of a couple of minutes. And don't get me going on how they drive on ice or snow. Not a f***ing clue. As for left-lane camping, it's the World HQ of left lane drivers. San Anto doesn't compare. And despite the Texas plates on most of the cars the poster upthread mentioned, I'm still betting from the choice of vehicle and driving style most of our a**hole drivers are from out of state. You have to register your vehicle in 30 days when you move here and with the all the dirty looks and middle fingers they were getting, they couldn't get rid if the California plate on the Beemer soon enough.
Been in San Antonio since 1966 (I was 10). Father was a Army officer. After living all over the world, he decided to retire in San Antonio. It's been a great place to call home. It's important to note that we, for the most part, don't experience hurricanes, tornados, earth quakes, tsunamis or live in fear of volcanic eruptions! And just a few hours away (driving) you can be on the beach (Gulf of Mexico). You can even drive down the beach! Or if you have a serious party itch that can't be scratched in San Antonio, Austin (party town royale) is less than a 2 hour drive. But must admit, if I could afford it, I'd be a snowbird (winters in San Antonio and summers somewhere up North).
I was recently asked to work in SA,Texas (I am a nurse) and i have to be honest, i am petrify to move there. I live in Boca Raton FL, in a very safe area. Is it that scary like people make it sound?
@@j.k7665 10-15 miles.. commute during rush hours wouldn't be much fun so I guess it depends on your schedule. Mostly highway driving so usually not to bad unless there are accidents (rain/bad weather). It's possible you may be able to figure out a more direct "back roads shortcut" though. PS: the state DOT (department of transportation) has a pretty extensive camera system in the area. It's pretty good information about wrecks and road closures.
It’s so interesting to me the flags people put in the ground over grocery stores. I was at a conference in Boston yesterday and a guy I was talking to was ready to die on a hill claiming that Wegmans is the best grocery on 🌍! Florida goes crazy about Publix. Fascinating.
I would say most of the snakes you'll see are non-venomous. I live about a half hour from SA in the hill country. I see garter snakes, rat snakes, hognose. I have yet to see a venomous snake in the 7 years I've lived on my 6 acres. Now, there are a ton of scorpions out here. During the summer, it's not uncommon for one to get in the house every so often. I find them inside the ceiling light fixtures all the time because they're in the attic. I had one crawl up my leg while watching TV. And they're always out at night outside. And then there are the giant centipedes and tarantulas the size of your fist... And it's hot out here... really hot. But not Houston hot. That's the hottest place I ever lived. Temperatures are about the same, but the humidity in Houston is almost always a stifling and unbearable 90+%. Out here in central Texas, it's usually below 60% during the summer and some days as low as 15%.
I live 55 miles west and agree - I sure hope you have scared people off coming out here. We don't have enough water as it is. And I have not patience for people coming in who hate us and our way of life before they even get here.
Born and raised here, yet have moved to multiple states through the military. I didn't know about the crime but... The terrible driving is spot on. Also the bipolar weather makes no sense 🫤
I'm from SA and I love it here. Yes there are some truths to this list but in my opinion SA is a great place to raise a family. The economy is steady along with the cost of living. It's a big city with almost a small town feel. Plus you can't beat the best Mexican food in the US.
Heres an update of san antonio 1. Property taxes are going up by the values of homes, people keep bidding high 2. Its creating more homeless and crime at a alarming rate 3. Allergies and sahara dust is true 4. The overpopulation is making the jails full, so now there releasing the minor stuff. 5. Everyone is strapped with guns because of abbotts law 6. San antonio inner city is gentrified (poor blacks in the southeast, middle class black east/northeast, hispanics south and west predominatly, whites upper north and outside from hwy410 to 1604 and further. 7. S.A is trying to annex the smaller outside city limits communities because as small city we dont know how to grow/expand. 8. Drunk driving/crashes almost daily 9. Road rage with guns. 10. S.A is kinda boring, opposite of what Austin is like.
I've lived here 17 years and yeah we have a lot of issues!! Our bipolar weather, drivers, animals, and lack of diverse cultural scene is a big drawback
@@FeR-kt1jtit’s not culturally diverse.. That’s why big things really don’t come there because everything is based around the Hispanic history and that’s all it has to offer and no market.. Only has like four major fortune 509 companies
I'm calling Chop on what he said about snakes. I did Pest Control in San Antonio for two years and one of my hobbies is going out and looking for animals. The most common snakes you're going to see our rough headed snake, garter snakes, and blind worm snakes. I have seen hundreds of these and only one rattlesnake and two coral snakes
I agree with you. I moved here in 2013 from out of state, and I thought I would only stay for a couple of years and nine years later I’m still here. I’ve been extremely happy here yeah the drivers are crazy they pull right out in front of you they stop traffic to turn left on a double yellow line but I haven’t really experienced any crime except thieves stealing from my job. but then again I live over by the Medical Center and it’s pretty safe over here I’ve never had any problems in my apartment complex. Oh, and I’ve shopped and experienced Albertsons Kroger Food Lion Piggly Wiggly Publix, and H-E-B is the most amazing grocery company there is. It’s got a great vibe when you go inside. Their brand-name products are just as good as other companies. I’ve never had a problem with the cops here. I’ve been pulled over a couple of times once because my blinker light wasn’t working another time because a headlight went out and they were so cool they just let me go didn’t even write me a ticket, but the shootings are almost a daily thing over in the bad areas so you just stay away from the bad areas and you’re fine
Moved here 6 months ago and literally the only issue I've spotted is the stray animals, and hot summers is something that basically anything south of Colorado feels. Crime wise, just make sure you live on the north or west side of the city and you'll be fine.
and if the slightest but of rain comes, someone somewhere is not having electricity all night!!!! san Antonio is in Texas, but the infrastructure here is Guatemalan at best!!!🤷♂️🤷♂️
I’m not trying to hate on SA but honestly from experience of living here it really isn’t that fun it’s very hard to meet real people out here in SA lots of people here either r trying to get under your pants or take advantage of you. Don’t get me wrong not everyone is like that here but the majority are. Bunch of fake people out in the streets asking for money. There really isn’t much to do out here every time I ask people here what they do for fun out here i usually hear abt downtown, off-roading, clubs and etc something u could do just abt anywhere. Honestly I wouldn’t mind more people moving here it’ll probably make SA fun with all kinds of different people moving here 🤷♀️🤷
This is b******* I moved from Chicago to Austin because I was told Austin would be a nice place to live and it's just a tiny version of Chicago San Antonio it's finally the best move I've made it's much more relaxing it's like a big town there's a lot to do with my children here and I love it
I am going to correct you one point. In #8, you mentioned our winters- IT CAN GET COLD here. We have a saying that our winters can get Bipolar due to the drastic changes from warm to cold. It's why the Flu strikes hard in January and February (as if we didn't have enough to worry about with Cedar season). Our nights can get close to freezing, especially in the Texas Hill Country! I have a thick coat in my closet as well as gloves and a thick hat to cover my ears with on those days when we're lucky to see 50 degrees. But then the next day we can get up to 60. Don't forget a couple years ago, we did get that winter blast and saw a foot of snow here (which is extremely rare) that cost lives. While really cold days are in the minority overall, they do happen. Question- did you mention Helotes @6:38? If so, you pronounced it wrong- it's Hell-low-tez (Spanish word). Sadly you can blame Hurricane Katrina for our huge spike in Crime in recent for a lot of New Orleans folk moved here and their gangs came with them and you combine that with the gangs already here, and you have one huge problem. It's actually why the surrounding counties are seeing a spike in population too in the past 20 years. Not to mention all of the Cartel stuff happening because our borders aren't secure (thanks for the open borders US Govt). One thing I would mention about #3, we also get African Dust from the Sahara during the Summer too. Yeah stuff from another continent makes it's way over here and affects the weather also. You forgot to mention Copperheads when mentioning dangerous snakes, but there are a lot of non-poisonous snakes too, like rat snakes. Mosquitos are also an issue here. But yeah NEVER walk outside barefooted on your lawn, because of ants.
Moved from out of state to San Antonio, my family and I sold our homes. We instantly regretted it, rude people, sub par food, terrible drivers, horrible insurance, unless you move for friends, family, or work you may be disappointed.
Eh the food’s amazing in my opinion, it’s just everything else that’s the problem for me… it’s such a LAME city. I’m young so that really bothers me. Stone Oak is a nice area to raise a family though.
Lived here my whole life since 1965, I love San Antonio it's a good place with good people .sure ,there's a few bad apples here and there but more good than bad.
HAHA - as a long time resident -- I'll agree with allergies (to an extent), Hot summers, drivers and the limited live music variety. Not so true: Dogs & cats (I've never seen anything like that here), Crime (SAT is not on even on the 'cities with most murders per capita' list for 2021), Snakes (they are certainly here - but rare to see), Rock Quarries (what???). We are kind of like a big small town, but have a lot to see and do! Come visit.
Been living here since 2010, originally from Corpus Christi, TX. I would say I loved it over the last 13 years of living here. I can probably only say I like the city, sure there are cons like bad drivers and some stray animals maybe a few deer (where i used to live up on northern part of town) but even then you can just learn to get used to it. There is definitely an activity to do anything but depending on the region you select to live also affects it. My advice when moving to SA is find location near work if possible and an area with convenience like grocery, gas and maybe medical if possible. There definitely are a ton of activities to do, some are free to roam around, the music is great as well. And lastly, summers are definitely brutal, so invest in some ceramic tint around your cars and brace on being welcomed to the city!
Ya..pretty crazy but look it up. There are a slew of on going lawsuits against operators. Google the topic of health issues caused by nearby quarries in San Antonio… This is one article sorta related to the subject: hillcountryalliance.org/citizens-continue-to-fight-comal-county-quarry-push-for-statewide-reforms/
@@Acrosstheglobechannel it’s not like the quarries just appeared near housing developments. The quarries in the far north side have been there for decades and decades. Housing developers knowingly put neighborhoods in close proximity to them so it’s really not the fault of any particular quarry. Heck, the Japanese Tea Gardens, Alamo Quarry Market and Six Flags Fiesta Texas are all repurposed limestone quarries. People should have done their homework before buying a million dollar home located 1/2 mile from a working quarry. In high school, I lived in Garden Ridge on FM 2252 and it wasn’t THAT bad living close to a quarry. Some people over react.
Leaving Amarillo to move here. Don't move to Amarillo. Crime, nothing to do, no jobs, homeless all over, dogs running around, people playing music at 4:30AM, the list goes on.
I’m from austin and live in SA and in my opinion the traffic is just as bad except that SA is so big it takes 20 minutes to get to everything. People will be in the car for an hour of traffic complaining about how bad austin traffic is.
I would also add, as part of the last point made, that trucks moving to and from quarries constantly leave debris all over the highways, which damages cars and trucks on a daily basis. The roads are filthy, so if you ride a motorcycle, be prepared to wear a full face helmet or there is a very strong possibility you will be constantly pelted with debris of varying size.
San Antonian here, we don’t have sea lions roaming around. Just move to Austin, it’s a utopia! Crime free, all jobs start at 150k with 2 months vacation to start and free housing!!!!
I moved there a few years ago and back out 6 months later. It's hard to get a good paying job in San Antonio. I started with a temporary working company to find work so that seems how you get your foot into a good paying company. Just another trick in San Antonio you need to know my readers. It's still a slower paced lifestyle there and the people for the most part are nice.
Stop lying you showed dogs at a California beach. You showed an area that's a ponderosa pine forest. People don't say theyve been bite by coral snake's here. Even the ladies here are tougher than your point of view. 5.19.2022
me; born and raised in San Antonio: Please don't move here. It's awful. Also since I grew up here I thought the stray animal thing was everywhere but nope! I lived in Houston for a couple of years and was amazed how I never saw a stray anywhere. I wonder if I should start my stray photo blog again now that I'm back in SA.
I grew up there. It is just another gigantic urban area now and crime to match. It’s run top to bottom by Democrats. If you like that, with all due respect, then you will love it.
Born and raised here and honestly he's right about most of this. I'm ready to leave. Sure, there's plenty of beautiful things and pros to living here. But we're discussing cons. We need a lot of improvement, we're far behind. Our population keeps increasing and the economy doesn't keep up fast enough. We've had a crime and homeless problem for many years. The homeless problem improved for a while but its starting up again. The police are questionable. And with a higher population comes more issues. There's a huge wealth gap. Very poor neighborhoods, some highly gentrified neighborhoods, not enough infrastructure, not enough affordable homes or rentals.
We moved out during Snowmageddon. Won't say where, but we can still hit most SA shopping within 30 minutes.. Found a couple of acres at an affordable price with a 3K sq ft home and a pool and are really enjoying the small town feel, nice people, no stinking HOA, no Code Compliance, and no neighbors up under your feet or in your business. Thankfully my SA employer is allowing work from home.
Hit the nail on the head i moved here seen a ton of gentrification and poor infrastructure... Streets aren't really thought out sometimes you much rather do a run around in the highway faster than cutting through trafficked streets that are full of dead ends and streets dont go straight for long.
Been here sincero 2010. My gripes : allergies in my eyes, the DRIVERS, the heat, it's starting to get over crowded, it's starting to get expensive in some areas for housing, the stray animals!, and I think that's it. I agree with this video. Hehe. Subscribed.
I've lived in SA since April of 2020 (sort of, weird timing in history, especially graduating) and drive about 30 minutes to work, 30 minutes back. I'd also like to mention I've worked in an outdoor environment since September of 2021. Coming from AZ, the heat and humidity combo sucks. I've seen stray dogs and cats at my workplace since I started as well, along with idiots in vehicles in the parking lot of my work (I'm a security officer btw). There are a lot of homeless people as well in my area of work and oh boy, thats icing on the cake. Weather, regular and pregnant strays (I've seen 2 litters of animals born since I started, 1 cat, 1 dog), terrible drivers on 281, 35, 1604, etc.. so many highways for POS drivers to use as a Mario Kart track. I wouldnt recommend coming to SA either, go somewhere else in Texas 😂 I know I'm still yknow, somewhat new to SA, but I will stand by my SA people with my couple years of residency in saying that we are indeed full. Overflowing even. Tucson, AZ still had more homeless people tho, 1000% never visit Tucson.
@@Acrosstheglobechannel just today I gave this adorable pit some water from a nearby restaurant. He trotted away happy since it's been very hot today. Never seen him before today, might never see him again. It's pretty normal to only see a stray around my work a couple times. One came back a couple weeks ago after MONTHS of me not seeing him. He was just chillin tho
I live here and it’s all true but we have no green buses as shown in this video. Our bus system got the nation wide award for great service and it has a seniors program that will take you any where you want for 2.00. It will pick you up at your house. Then for another 2.00 it will pick you back up and take you home. The monthly unlimited passes are not to expensive. The summer heat is horrific here but hardly no winter. Our crime is because of illegals crossing over and stealing cars, guns in cars and breaking into our house to get food and money. We are overloaded with aliens due to being a couple a hours from Mexico cross over. One school built for 850 people has over 3500 causing 5 lunch breaks. We took in the Katrina flood victims and no Section 8 housing vouchers put out in 5 yrs. All the jobs is service at minimum wage available. It’s hard to find housing unless you buy and have great income levels. We have great hospitals here and could use medical employees
He didn’t lie when he mentioned stupid drivers, it’s regular to see a fool parked in the middle of the freeway drunk or to get in a shootout because some idiot can’t drive or mad because you do know how to properly drive!
