Biggest issue i have with Rockstar is that we used to play GTA for fun. Now it feels like a job to grind to afford smallest of things.

Rockstar used to be about creativity 1st then the money will come. Now it's about money money money and then more money thanks to gta5 online😢

the developers from 10 to 15 years ago are mostly gone that is one of the reasons for the company to change as well

The amount of hate the modders get is insane , they were the reason why first person exists and why their games have longevity.

I think a big part is that they have essentially become the exact type of corporation/entity they used to parody and shit on. Also, the main creative minds behind all the games everyone loves, have all left the company. That also says a lot without actually saying anything. That's not so much hate, but gives reason for other reasons.

The RP policy is laughable cause they know fans put more effort into improving a game than the studio itself...

Rockstar also has horrible transparency with no community team whatsoever. 99% of the things that we always know about the new dlc is coming from either leakers, dataminers or insiders (shoutout to tez, he a real one). Also whatever change or update that they pish out always never gets properly communicated to the community, including why they decided to make that change and their design philosphy behind their updates which always leaves the community in a constant state of confusion. All of this potentially avoided if only Cockstar spent the time to hire a few community managers to listen to feedback and relay messages from the dev team.

Nice video. Greed is the ultimate answer as to why Rockstar has changed so much. Those billions for very little effort success story of GTAO was just too tempting to those in charge. Creative types were fired or left, fans have been sued, other (better) games have been ignored. At this point I'm expecting GTA6 to be a total mess when it launches, full of the typical AAA game bugs that get fixed over the next year or so. However, the online mode will be fully supported as that's where the money is.. and Rockstar isn't about to risk that cash cow.

The Problem with Modern Game Companies is that when they make a good game they shit themselves by turning it into a money maker. If they earn more money from that game they will simply milk them and not make a squeal or similar game people demand for. If they didn't get any profit out of that game then they will abandon it. In any case they will never listen to us fans.

Abandoning RDO is something that should forever haunt Rockstar as the biggest amount of wasted potential in the history of gaming

The only problems I've ever had with Rockstar... Is how they messed GTA 5 online up with the over priced cars, futuristic Weapons & weaponized vehicles just to sell Shark Cards... It was cool at first, then you realize you're kinda supposed to be in modern day era, and then the whole flying Bike, Car, etc, looks stupid and doesn't fit in with the game... Other than that..... Long live the GTA Franchise...

I can give you my reasons for hating rockstar. Predatory pricing with the shark cards and the fact that I need a mod menu to fix their game, thus making me part of the problem in their eyes.

I say if people boycott GTA 6 upon release that might actually make R* realize that people are tired of their greed. However seeing as how people have been waiting for this game for about a decade this is the least likely to happen. My prediction is GTA 6 will drop, people will undoubtedly rush to stores to buy it, they will treat it like its God's gift to gaming, and forget all about the greedy practices of R* over the last 10 years. 🤦‍♂️ 😮‍💨

Everything GTA Online is, was stolen from us fans and modders... Multi Theft Auto is a mod most people do not know today, but it was THE hottest mod for a number of years. In that mod, San Andreas was turned into an MMORPG, with housing to buy, cars to customize, multiple roles to play from police to prostitute (they offered their "services" as buffs, very popular before PvP events) pilots, cab drivers, commercial fisherman which provided nitrous oxide for boosters in cars etc. It was amazing. AMAZING. It was 100% FOR FANS, BY FANS. They stole every idea we ever made, slapped a f'ing price tag on it and called it a day. I was there, i lived it, someday i might actually make a video on it because it's TOTAL BS how they treated us after they STOLE OUR IDEAS, monetized them, and then kicked us out.

last time i played RDR2 online, they still had dead eye in all game modes. which dead eye is like the special powers each one of the characters from the story of GTA5 had. but... they added a super OP single player thing... into online. all fights are won by who uses dead eye first.

This is a reality that gamers in general are having to get used to recently, not just Rockstar but many of our favorite companies from back in the day seem to be almost in direct competition for who can be the most corrupt and still manage to get away with it because of fans eating their garbage up anyway. The list of companies that seem to actually care about their customers and not just their wallets has been getting smaller and smaller with time.

Most of the game companies that many of us grew up with. They are a shell of their former selves. They've been twisted by greed and mismanagement. If it's not breaking the main game up into paid DLC to be sold at a later date. It's micro transactions. That you have players that are willing to pay more an unfair advantage. The big one now being subscription services. All while making them piss easy and bending the knee. To groups that will never ever buy any of their product.

After the co-founders quit the company the new group is mismanaged and held hostage to do what Strauss Zelnick tells them to do. New single-player games are not a part of their business plans. But we got 20 years of good games until it ended.

My only hate for Rockstar is the fact that they're taking way too long to release GTA 6 and they've literally been milking GTA Online like crazy. If they stopped working on that as much, they'd finally have time to make GTA 6.

I'm going to be honest, the people that complain about Rockstar only focusing on gta online, yet still buying every update, are a huge part of the problem. I am convinced that online gaming is the main factor for internet and gaming addiction. Video games can be an art through their narrative and interactive experience. And before the online gaming community hit the open worlds, we used to see more story dlc updates , like Undead Nightmare. I seriously doubt any story, or map expansion pack, will ever come for Rdr2. Why is this? Because the onlike gaming service allows for micro transactions and a quick dopamine release with every so called "update". It appeals to hyperactive teens and fidgety players who constantly need a fix, instead of emphasising the story content more. This demand and willingness from them will end up always propping up the scam that gta online is. The best way to have Rockstar wake up and start focusing more on the story aspect (which I think they do an amazing job at), is to boycott these online sevices. This can be applied to most games released now, not just Rockstar. But to see Rockstar become this way over story, is why it's disappointing for most fans. Yet still, most of these fans sighing over it, still interact with gta online! It's hypocritical once you see it. Tldr: boycott gta online in favor of narrative-based games and updates instead. The more you continue to engage with it, the more you'll be adding to the problem.

The Lack of Creativity section hits hard; I never touched GTA Online, but... I will never forget when they announced that they were going to do Single Player DLC in GTAV, only to discard and shelve it because of GTA Online DLC. GTA Online was... I believe at its peak at the time, so anybody can guess why they swapped over to the latter over the former, and that's what pissed me off. Now it looks like they put slightly more story in GTA Online, but the game design of GTA between V and Online is so different that instead of getting a neatly crafted and well thought out journey, you are confined to the multiplayer aspects of GTAO, which, makes them ultimately just rehash the same missions over and over because that was their best idea of fitting it in.. making it a heist (assuming). This happened far before Red Dead Online got fucked over, GTA+, or even the thing I would look most forward to: GTA Trilogy Definitive Editions. That aforementioned toss out of the Single Player DLC is what killed it for me with Rockstar and I now just refuse to play any Rockstar games post-2013.

My biggest annoyance with R* is their hunger for microtransactions. They used to be different than Activision & EA.

While I agree with most points, there are still 3 points where I gotta take Rockstar's defense. 1.Take-Two's the one going after modders in most cases, not Rockstar. 2. GTA Online's community is still one of the most played game, and RP has nothing to do with it, the evidence is that there are more players on consoles, which is lacking a RP mode. 3. Rockstar do care. Unfortunately, most people ignores what's going on inside the studios. But Rockstar and Take-Two aren't in good terms at all for years now. Rockstar would have done many things differently if Take-Two wasn't forcing them to do the worst decisions possible, and the best example for this is RDO. Rockstar originally wanted to do a whole complete online game for Red Dead, that was very different than what we have now, and it was supposed to get released much later. But Take-Two said nope, they wanted RDO to be released with RDR2, so Rockstar canceled that project and had to rush a more simple online game. The reason they don't update it no more probably is caused they hate it themselves. Another example, is GTA V's DLCs. I don't know if you remember, but Rockstar did say back in 2015 (or 2016?), that the next update for GTA Online would be the finale one. Shortly after, as the game would get more and more populated, Take-Two said there will be more update. And that's when the DLCs where canceled and its content came online. Take-Two is the real ennemy. This is why Dan houser left, this is why writers and lots of veterans left. Because Take-Two, Strauss Zenick, is money greedy and they're forcing Rockstar to do lots of stupid things. I bet what you want that they're the ones that ordered a PS5 port for GTA V and RDR. Take Two used to give carte blanche to Rockstar, but you can clearly feel that things turned into s... when they started telling Rockstar what to do. So, Rockstar isn't all that innocent now that's for sure (hello GTA+ and Trilogy Remaster), but people needs to start blaming Take Two just as much as they do with Rockstar, because Rockstar do care, but they're not free like they used to be anymore

Biggest crime is no DLC Single player been released for both GTA 5 and RDR 2. Why no Charles story DLC for RDR 2 it's insane.

I don't hate them, I also don't agree with the decisions they make sometimes, but they still make great games, and they've never done anything to me personally, therefore I have no reason to hate them.

If i was a ceo gaming company and I saw Moders updating older games of mine I would hire them. And the thing with rockstar is that they have all there studios working on 1 game when they should have all their studios working on their other titles or new ones.

The good news is that game engines have continued to get better and better, making it easier and easier to create amazing games. Tiny studios can now create games that would have taken ten times as many people to create only a few years ago. Yes, Rockstar may be positioned to fade over time, with their games (er, game) losing market share, but there will be an abundance of other games from other creators, and some of them will be amazing.

I miss when rockstar would make other games rather than focus on gta, i loved the manhunt series, max payne series, and bully, i wished they would focus more on stuff like that rather than focus on one game, but its important to note that the crew has changed since so maybe new crew, new ideas

About money glitches....the ban wave from the deluxo one was really dodgy. Innocent players were reset,including myself. Lvl 470 acc with 200 mil and all properties was wiped for no reason. I think the glitch was an excuse, wiping accounts = more sales right? Ironically they got me doing the thing I was reset for, in supposedly going down on duping, they made it seem like a good thing. At lvl 780 with all my stuff back. Gta is fun but the company is garbage.

I just want to add on when you were stating why did they re release gta 5 on ps5 again. They didn’t even have to because it’s backwards compatibility you can play ps4 games on ps5 and the ps5 gta 5 literally has a few minor tweaked improvements you’d have to squint to see the improvements

This is a great video as I did not know of the things happening in GTA online as I don’t play, I play RDO and well, the last good update was… more than two years ago, we can’t even rob stores or banks, there are only like what 20 story missions? When I hop on now I feel now enjoyment just chores, oh I gotta do the trader, better set up my moonshine, I gotta do a legandary animal, gotta do a bounty or two while waiting, do the moonshine, then trader and log off. I used to play the first RDR1 when I was 8, now RDO is dying… it’s sad really. I hate rockstar and I’m never giving them any of my money…

This happens with most things. Company is successful, success attracts money men, money men gain control, company turns to s#it. I used to work for a certain international hobby company where this happened.

I used to be a huge rockstar fan loyal to the core but due to their behavior the way they’ve treated their fans and games, they deserve all these leaks etc👍 filthy milkers man, never bothered to give us single player dlc for GtaV so they could focuss on milking their loyal fan base and same goes with RDR2 it’s literally disgusting the way they’ve treated that game and it’s fans like not even Undead Nightmare2? They even cancelled Bully 2 and Agent all so they could milk little kids on GtaV✌️they really are the worst now they disgust me to the point i don’t think i’ll buy another product from them.

The 'exspanded and enhanced version' does add a few things... Hals Special Works and Vinewood Car club to name two... But whats bad is that to get them you must be on PS5/Xbox-X version.. You can upgrade from Xbox - 1 or ps4 and Buy the new version.. But for people like me on PC... They dont give us all the new features and there is no way to transfer your account to ps5 etc to get such features... They are now paywalling things behind GTA+ and there is no such offering for PC and older consoles... I am saying i want to buy a subscription, but most of their userbase is losing features due to a paywall they cant even pay for.

8:30 - 8:34 Thats one of the things that upsets me the most! Didn't R* had a lot of studios around the world? What happened to those? What happened to Vancouver, Leeds, North, Toronto, San Diego, etc.? Did Take-2 close all these down? Why can't for example Vancouver work on Bully 2 (since they already made the first Bully game as far as I remember), while Toronto could work on RDR2 Online and Leeds (since they made LCS and VCS) could've worked on the Definitive Trilogy. That way they could've deliver us more new entries (and maybe even new IPs) in the past 10 years and not mostly just GTA Online improvements/DLCs. Shame :/

The day they killed off Johnny Klebitz, that’s the day I knew Rockstar didn’t care much about their loyal fans customers.

I bought my PS3 with a gta 5 bundle, and ever since then i've had friends ask if I would buy it for the newest system. My response has always been why would I spend 60 or even 30 bucks on a game I already own?

You can tell Rockstar just doesn't care about RDR2 anymore as they didn't even port/re-release it on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Despite working endlessly on it for 8 years.

haven't played any gta for a decade and finally startet GTA5 two days ago on my ps5. and right away i noticed that the graphics aren't up to todays standards. i was really surprised that this game is actually already 10 years old! thats really a long time without any meaningful games in between. there are probably big problems behind the scenes we don't know about

Honestly, Rockstar done a great job on Midnight Club, and GTA, but however, they need to stop caring about the profits, from the GTA Franchise, come on Rockstar, we need something different like, do a new Generation of Midnight Club or something.

The thing that annoys me the most about online is the modders. Every server has modders. The only way to avoid them is the join a lobby by yourself or with just friends which is more boring

I get the sense that some of the passion they used to put into GTA is gone. For example, updating 4 and 5 to have music that released long after these games are set. Imagine them going back and putting songs as late as 2000 into San Andreas. They just don't care about their own timeline.

How much effort would it really take to produce a version of RDR2 or LA Noire for the PSVR2, or even PS5? In comparison to the cost and resources needed to produce a new version of GTA. I suppose as media companies get bigger and more successful, or taken over, they slowly move away from the creative founders to the corporate suits, who don't care about the game play or the fans that made them what they are today.

And a thing that bugs me about GTA v is cross saves I know it's probably not possible but going from 160 level GTA online and playing in buying every expansion that came out to transferring to Xbox and having to start with nothing over again

Ultimately, if people were more demanding than just playing on for the tenth year GTA Online, beating its repetitive heist missions and paying in-game microtransactions, Rockstar would have not been able to milk GTA Online for billions of dollars and would have had to be creative. Have the bravery to face it: it's the players community fault more than it is Rockstar's.
