Who has best pay structure? Casequin, Haight, or Paramore?
@RoofingInsights3.0
@RoofingInsights3.0 2 года назад
Lol, definitely not Paramore. Guy charges $5000 to find employees for others and he doesn’t have any. Never met his ex client who recommends him. His 1099s employees don’t recommend him. His reviews on indeed will tell you story. Casequin doesn’t have it because he lost all his sales reps, Lee has the highest turn over. Lee might have good pay structure and still in the game but sales don’t fix everything, they beg their crews to work for them, many don’t want, Lee is trying to sell his $60,000 package to his crews and he doesn’t know their names! How do I know? They are in roofing-school.com talking to me weekly trying to break free… I will leave it here.

@@RoofingInsights3.0 so I know Haight is overhead then a gross profit split. Casequin & Paramore both teach % of total but have different perspectives on how much & how to split it up. Any insight specifically in a sustainable pay structure?
@RoofingInsights3.0
@RoofingInsights3.0 2 года назад
@@justinbrown1095 10% off gross for retail, 15% for self generated leads. 5% is your marketing budget, if they Bring jobs to you you give them 5%. its fair and reasonable. Manage your price and budget 10% for sales commissions, and 5% for marketing for leads. For self gens and door kickers: 15%. Thats the numbers I teach.

@@RoofingInsights3.0 Do you teach pay structure for sales team leaders & managers? Is that an override on top of the the 15% commission to rep?

@@RoofingInsights3.0 I would have a stroke working with or for a guy like Lee -- he's a "balls to the walls" to type of guy that's running at 1000 MPH, but data shows that Slow and Steady wins the race every time.

Good video! I think some of these guys have something different to bring to the table (not all of them), but some. Is it not possible to grab an idea here and there from a collective and tailor your business in that fashion? Example: How come you couldn't brand your company and make it fun with great marketing, but at the same time storm chase if the opportunity presents itself while separating yourself from the liability? Can nobody possibly have a headquarters / home base and have a solid dispatch team for a storm? How do one of the thousands of different companies in America enter into nearly every state/city? furthermore how do those same companies take away from local companies? is it possible that people don't care about local companies as much as most people think? I agree that keeping small is actually more profitable and FAR less stress than having a major company, but I do believe there is a "sweet spot" with everything. Question: If a big storm hits how will some of these states / areas get all their roofs done in an appropriate amount of time if they are relying on only local contractors? What if those local companies can't handle that type of workload? Example: A place like Louisiana will be roofing for the next 2 years and that's with it being flooded by storm chasers, but without them some people would be waiting 4 + years to get their roof replaced. Are storm chasers a necessary evil? I would also like to say that just because their local doesn't necessarily mean they are a good contractor (as all of us know). Marketing: Anyone who doesn't invest in proper branding / marketing for their company to me is a MAJOR red flag in my opinion... So, whether you stay local or storm chase if someone isn't taken their own company serious, then my guess is they aren't going to take your job serious. Liability: There are 40 million lawsuits filed in the US every year and any liability lawyer that's worth a salt would tell you to structure your company properly (most people don't). For example, why wouldn't someone have a Wyoming LLC they created own their roofing business? why wouldn't you have your fleet of trucks owned by another LLC that rents to your roofing company? This is especially true for someone who's the only owner of their LLC, because most states don't have a charging order (like Florida) which means that someone can come after you personally on top of coming after the LLC. And if this is indeed an outrageous notion then why is it well advised by liability lawyers? Is the goal to increase liability or decrease liability? I believe in having W2 employees for the office because it's inevitable that you will have to tell them to show up at a certain time and direct them to do certain things and with people who are working as a 1099 you simply cannot do that. I would also like to say that people who are 1099 cannot use any of your stuff your company owns since they are their own entity -- There is no such thing as a 1099 employee! Any worker who is eligible for 1099 is actually an Independent Contractor and never an employee. Now we could argue that an independent contractor has actually more of a tax benefit for themselves compared to being a W/2 employee, but that's another topic. Owners who pay themselves before their employees are scum. A company should be treating all their employees with respect / dignity and paying them appropriately - nobody wants to work for an a-hole who doesn't pay. A company can be the best roofing contractor around, but if they don't pay their employees they are just as bad as contractors who run off with deposits. The bottom line: I'm personally a huge believer and advocate that your brand is everything. If you brand is reputable and respected that directly translates into higher revenue. I'm also a believer in capitalizing and expanding into a different market if executed properly and that's one of the beauties of America is that our business isn't limited to a confined space. I'm a huge advocate of separating yourself from liability because there's a huge difference between taking a major financial risk to start a business and taking a major liability risk every day. So, if someone is an advocate of building a reputable brand and marketing in their area and possibly exploring the idea of sending a crew to the next state over to work a storm, on top of making sure their company is airtight in the liability sense, then what model would that be if you are taking a small piece here and there and tailoring it? Besides for the few obvious bad business models, would it be safe to say that the other business models it boils down to a matter of opinion? Anyways, I have a ton of respected for you and I agree with the majority of what you say, Also I apologize about my long reply and questions / thoughts. Please feel free to pick it apart. - TR
