I always go in January. I always see families without warm clothes. Big mistake is not bringing warm clothes in January.

The rest day tip is so good. Since we have to go back to the AirBNB each night to feed the dogs, there is some time scheduled each day to recuperate and we are taking a full day off in the middle but going to MVMCP at night so it doesn't feel like a "waste".

Wish I could stay on property but with 6-7 people and two dogs...that's almost impossible.

I totally agree with staying on property. Our last trip we stayed at Shades of Green. While it has a lot of the onsite perks, we hated it and it affected our entire trip. Never again will we stay off site.

Great video! The best advice is taking a rest day, or even rests during the day. On our last trip we went back every day in the afternoon for a dip in the pool and a nap before heading back into the parks. It makes a great deal of difference in your mental, physical and emotional outlook. There was a quote I read years ago that goes, "Disney World is the vacation that fights back." No truer words were ever spoken. You can't do it all or see it all in one trip, not even multiple trips, and pressing too hard to do so will make you miserable and cranky which isn't magical. On the Disney Dining Plan it's simple - do the math. There are so many factors which go into it. How does your family like to eat and how much (the plan has ALOT of food!)? Are you doing a lot of character meals? Are you planning on just snacking through your day? Etc., Etc., Etc. Just do the math and see where you come out based on your own individual circumstances. On planning. We plan each day, prioritizing what we want to see the most and developing a tour plan to optimize our ability to experience them. We know going in that no plan survives contact with Disney World for both good and bad, but having one makes it easier to adjust without becoming frustrated. When I see people standing on Main Street with a map trying to decide where to start their day I know the odds are that they will become frustrated at some point. I remember being in line at Haunted Mansion overhearing a couple talking about how lost and frustrated they were and that they were going to go back to hotel that night and develop a plan for the next day. Related to planning, I would add that you should not get so upset that an attraction you most wanted to see is shut down and let it ruin your whole vacation. There are too many wonderful things to see and do to let it ruin your vacation. Just go with the flow and try not to let it bother you.
