Huge respect for her. Lost in Translation sealed the deal. I now understand my writing process thanks to this vid!

I love her so much. People don’t talk about women filmmakers enough.

There are tons of very talented writers who live in terrible circumstances since their conception in this shitty world who never get so much as a crack at their dream of becoming a writer so Let's be honest... she would've been more sincere if she had gone into nursing or something. At least one would know she started from nothing then.

Wow, projecting your failures. You remind me of my step dad.

Thank you for this. Sofia is very inspiring. It was great to see her sensibility - the approach that was imprinted on Lost in Translation. I loved the approach of finding small bits and pieces to build a movie.

Her first tip should be: "Be a nepotism baby like me, then you can start directing a movie before you even finish writing the script, as I did on Lost in Translation."

YEP. All these kids who have parents in the business get the biggest breaks and always come off as if they started from scratch. She'd be a lot more convincing if she separated herself from her dad and just followed a completely different path.

Tip 1. Have a rich and famous dad, that can help with financing, directing and screenplay structure.

Yes ofcourse, she has Francis with her. So she has great influence. It's not about her rich, but extremely talented father
@leonorek5132
@leonorek5132 3 года назад
I think having a rich and famous dad doesnt help you at all if youre not also talented and passionate about the path.And she is not the first person coming from an artist family. Nothing wrong with that.

who cares how she got where she is now!!! her work is BRILLIANT, you better be grateful that she got the chance to express herself. stop fucking shaming her for her roots and putting down her work, thank you
@mikrophonie5633
@mikrophonie5633 2 года назад
Yeah you need to be a nepotism baby like her. Who else can start directing a movie (Lost in Translation) like she did, without even finishing writing the screenplay?
@jobyden105

@@clarapj7 oh please... you will not get a job by brown-nosing her. lol.
