G,...you pull off the preppy/collegiate style like no other. Its a style I sleep on for some reason....and for the life of me I DON'T KNOW WHY! Those clean collegiate style cardigans you rock from time to time are the bomb. I've gotta get my sporty cardigan game going. Thanks for the visual reminder. Cheers and salute.
Know what else is a dope option? A guayabera. I speak Spanish and I rock with a lot of Latinos so I always keep at least two fresh guayaberas for festive occasions. It looks casual to the western eye but in the Philippines, Cuba, Mexico, and probably a bunch of other places it's worn for special occasions like weddings.
Salute, great video brother, I like every shirt you talked about, and I agree that every man should have some of these shirts 👕 in the closet, especially white dress shirts.
I hate the white dress shirt. But the OG is right it’s a necessity. But for the love of your deity of choice, don’t wear it alone unless you’re a waiter. It’s a foundational garment, it needs other elements layered on it to do its job.
That’s a fly cardigan. Reminds me of this vintage letterman sweater I found online. The varsity letter is down on the left front side, down low, instead of up high like a traditional letterman jacket. It’s tough for a grown adult to get away with a letterman, but this is so obviously vintage it doesn’t look it’s mine and I just never closed the yearbook😂 But I get more compliments on that than any other piece in my wardrobe. Someone from a passing car was trying to buy it off my back once, haha. Anyway, point is, a good cardigan sweater is a great look. And a good vintage one is hard to find, they abandoned that style 50 years ago, but if you can find one in a good color and in your size….great piece for the wardrobe. Although the letterman is more conspicuous, so not really a staple in that case. But don’t sleep on cardigans, y’all!
The sold color tee shirt is my go to but I put a twist to it, I iron a crease in the middle of my shirt to give a sharp look to it. Game changer and salute 👍🏾
Another great video! Informative and well presented and paced. I mostly agree. One point of disagreement is lot of guys aren't built for a Henley. I would suggest a blue dress shirt in lieu of the Henley. If you wear suits on a regular basis I suggest the following: dress shirts in light low intensity color fabrics- ecru, light lavender, very light pink, and light blue. In addition, dress shirts with French cuffs are usually a great alternative for someone who wears suits often.
Hi Jeff, not only do I like your videos - all very on-point topics - I commend your natty attire too and presenting style. As usual in your styling/fashion videos you also model the outfits exquisitely. The one omission in this video is a particular favourite of mine - the dress shirt with French (or double) cuffs. French cuffs and the almost limitless variety of cufflinks are a superb way for a man to display his personality with some flair, ranging from understated to the very bold with a huge swathe of choice along that spectrum. My first set of cufflinks, which I bought almost forty years ago, were a graduation present to myself and are the crest of my university set in 18 carat gold. They came with a matching tie pin. I have since amassed a sizeable collection, from simple gold knots, and silk knots in varied colours, to more corporate-looking styles and some whimsical styles too. I have often memorialised a place I've enjoyed visiting with links linked to the place (pun intended!). The last set I got was of Vincent van Gogh's painting, "Irises", from the shop at the J Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, where I had just seen the painting and been thoroughly wowed by the museum. Like many outfits you presented in this video, French cuffs and cufflinks can also be dressed up or down - a particular favourite of mine for a casual, yet sophisticated, look is a sky blue shirt with French cuffs, playful cufflinks, with a navy blazer and silk pocket square, worn with clean blue denim jeans and driving shoes, with or without socks.
I’m happy to report that I own all these types of shirts. I also think the rugby is an underrated classic. I would love to see a video about fashion classics that remain appropriate for grown men (preppy, Euro, workwear, etc.)
New to your channel. OG you nailed this pretty well. I wear cotton oxford, short sleeve polo, solid T, denim (I have a Polo denim that must be my favorite shirt), flannel, short sleeve casual. Don’t have much occasion for white dress but I have one, may need to try it this fall.
You can never go wrong with a polo from Polo (Ralph Lauren) T-Shirts gotta be V-Neck especially with a Carnigan sweater. Personally I’m a little too stocky, and a small guy, 🤫, to pull off just a white button up I have to throw on a sports jacket with it.
Hey brother I’m new to your channel and new to dressing like a gentleman. I wanted to ask if you can do a video for Christmas 2024 styles .. Thank you !
Just bought a denim shirt today. Hey OG. Any tips for getting back in shape? I want to hit the gym but struggling to make the move to actually get up and go. Thanks and salute 🫡
Hi Jeff! LOVE your videos. I was wondering when I would get my shout out in your videos! I recall you saying that I would be put on your list, but just curious if I’m close to the top? (Name is Matthew Avriel Alegre)! SALUTE
Bro you’re the ONLY one who rocks the Mr. Rogers neighborhood sweaters. Do you take off your slippers and sing a song when you walk through the door like he did too? 😂
