Before becoming the assistant principal, Mark Copani was my social studies teacher in 10th grade. At first I kinda recognized him, but couldn’t put my finger on it until another student straight up asked him in the middle of a lesson. Knowing how his career ended in WWE, instead of opting to ask for a photo or asking what his experience was like, I simply thanked him for the entertainment he provided, and that smile he gave really made me feel as if he was happy of his accomplishments, despite how it ended. I did end up going to one of those few Indy shows. It was definitely more nostalgic than anything, but to say he didn’t hold his own would be a lie. Always good to see him around every now and then.

Hana Kimura's still hurts, considering how much potential she clearly had and how far she could have gone, yet the internet did what the internet does. It's so incredibly frustrating how many people seem to forget that there's a person behind the figures they see on TV or online and treat them like absolute shit. Especially when they're on reality TV, like Kimura was when she got attacked with racial abuse and bullying while on Terrace House. But honestly, from the stuff I've seen on social media and elsewhere, there's not many if any communities that can call themselves much better in terms or remembering that the person they are watching is a real person with real emotions and reactions and the things people say and do actually impact them. Everyone needs to try to be better, lest we lose more people like Hana.

It looks powerful yet is safe, so I've always been perplexed why some wrestler doesn't take it on. It's a miles better fireman's carry variant than Austin Theory's A-Town Down, for instance.

@Artie Trieu in the women’s division, honesty? No. The writers used to have Sable come to the ring even if she had absolutely no storyline going. Just because they knew the audience wanted to see her.. very much like what they did with Seth Rollins a few weeks ago on Raw. No match, no storyline, but the audience wants to see him no matter what. 🔫 to my head, that’s who I’d compare her to, Seth’s popularity right now, her at the height of her popularity . Wrestlemania 14 back in 1998 arguably, popularity wise the only superstars more over then she was, was Austin and The Undertaker. Watch her match with Marc Mero vs Goldust and Luna and just listen to the crowd. No disrespect intended to Charlotte Becky Rhea Lita Trish Chyna +++

Monty Brown Sean O'Haire Sonny Siaki, I genuinely think he had it all and should have gone on for longer. I know he helped a family member which I absolutely respect.

I’m so glad Monty Brown made this list. Dude was destined for a World Title run had he not left to take care of his nieces & nephews following his sister’s untimely passing. Sad but much respect to that man. The reason I started watching TNA. POOOOOUNCE

I remember seeing Hana Kimura live at a ROH PPV, & she really stood out to me, out of the other women in what was 8 Woman Tag Match. I made sure to remember the name. Then when I heard she took her own life, it was like a gut punch.

Great list! Any kudos awarded to Sick Nick Mondo will always be appreciated - taking that weedwacker bump is what put CZW on the international map. Sean O'Haire, Monty Brown, and Blitzkrieg are all massive "what ifs?" Hana Kimura is a legend already. I truly believe she would have been a multi time World Champion that bridged American, Japanese, and Mexican wrestling. Not a 'what if', rather a 'should have been'.

Magnum TA was on his way to becoming World Champion & a Hall Of Famer imo. I think AJ Lee should be in the top 5. She really wasn't around that long.

They started to air syndicated NWA/JCP Saturday morning shows in New England in 1985. First show featured Mangum vs Wahoo in a cage for the US title. The match wasn't all that, but the pop got when he won made it clear how over he was. Was a big fan and hated to see him retire.

MVP(Montel Vontavius Porter) could be mentioned, he had that fued with Matt Hardy, when he finally got over he turned out to be a pretty good heel. He had that great catch phrase "I, am better, than you! It didn't seem like he was around that long.

Having been a kid in the 80s I can vouch for Magnum T.A. being a legit superstar on the rise. HE WAS THE MAN. Even Dusty Rhodes said in an interview that he was on his way to being the NWA equivalent of Hulk Hogan. When he got into his car accident you felt like you saw a superhero die in a movie. HE WAS THAT GOOD. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a convention a few years ago and he was a great guy. Wish he could have lived up to his potential. See you on the other side ✊🏿🇺🇸🔥🇺🇸🔥🇺🇸🔥✊🏿

Late stage WCW was mostly a mess, but there were some really solid wrestlers there at the end. O’Haire and Jindrak were an awesome tag team that WWF dropped the ball on, along with turning Shane Helms into a superhero (which made his run in 3 Count seem like a prime gimmick), and pretty much everyone from the Filthy Animals except Mysterio were chucked aside. I was shocked at who TNA ended up with. Of course, Russo was Booker, so 80% of them were mishandled. The only good thing S***-Stain ever did was push Bret Hart in WCW, and even then, he almost killed him. I think he had it out for the Harts. Or he was just an idiot.

I'm really shocked David Von Erich wasn't number one. He did enough in his few years that Fritz Von Erich had other NWA promoters ready to vote for David as a future World Champion. That was a HUGE accomplishment back then, since to title rarely changed hands. I've said that imho if David had not died in 1984 at age 25, he might have butterfly affected the wrestling world to the point that the territories might have survived. Imagine getting to go to wrestling matches every Thursday (or other day) like we used to do before Vince took control of almost everything?
