Can you detect the body language of deception?
Being deceived is the worst. Sure, sometimes it is simply a small, little white lie someone told, but other times, being betrayed by someone you trust can be painful and humiliating. Once you’ve been lied to enough, you might even find it difficult to trust others, always trying to decipher whether their words are truthful or not.
Luckily, investigators in fraud and deceit have looked for decades for clues that can signal whether people are being honest or dishonest. Of course, there is no 100% accurate way to determine whether someone is telling the truth. However, they have come up with a lot of tips that can help you catch deceptive people in their lies!
Be sure to stick around until the end, because the number one tip is our favorite for spotting liars!

I’m writing a book right now and my character (an FBI Agent) is about to interrogate someone who is guilty of a murder. This is going to help. I knew a few of these, but didn’t know the sentence structure one or the “I statements” one. This will help. THANK YOU!

People who are telling the truth but have had a horrible experiece also try to distance themselves from the situation/experience by avoiding "I" in sentences. Also when you lack confidence and are affraid you wont be believed you become more vague and refrain from useing "I". The same with " maybe" and "I think". There can therefor be totally different reasons for being vague in your sentences, than being a deceiver.

This is an interesting point sometimes trauma is redacted from the source memory and that could be considered deception omission or even absolutely blocking the memory I guess this should show the truth is perspective like if I assumed you was 6 and they assumed you was 9 we'd both be incorrect as you are who you are the worlds knows many 9s and many 6s however all are only the same in their individually. Sorry but it feels good to think alound publicly whilst alone lol I am nuts aren't i

Ex BF would leave out "I" when talking about something he did with someone else. Posting on his FB following a cruise: "Went to the beach."

I noticed that the liar was beginning to gulp just before the lies. The gulping became worse over time. I have been experiencing covert bullying and interference for a while and the lies and deception I have discovered is unbelievable. Melissa UK London 💚

Trusting no one will lead to not being hurt! Becoming a bit of a truth tell bitch or a honest asshole can get you places. places you never thought before. But keep that empathy and have it ready for those who really deserve it...even if think they deserve it...test their trust first!

I did my dissertation on deception detection. The literature broadly shows that a lack of details is the most diagnostic cue, not what is in this video. But even then, DePaulo et al's 2003 meta-analysis has shown that even the most reliable cue is, in reality, a faint indicator. This video, like many on the topic, is nonsense.

Number 5 needs to be explained abit more.. is it a sign theyre lieing ? Or telling a half truth? Or are they actually telling the truth about the thought of doing it?

It´s a lie...when someone says in that context I thought about but walked instead. Why is this a lie? Because a person wouldn´t even mention the first part and simply tell you what they actually did...I went for a walk. However, there´s no guarantee this alone could mean someone is lying or not.
