Yes!! It's such an exciting time! I have this year's set of activities set to come out in the next week or so-should be a couple additional ideas for you as well! Fall came pretty late for us this year.

Yes! There's a lot we can buy to work with once they're older, but at this age, it's really all about exposure, exposure, exposure!

What a great idea to use nature in child's development. It's so healthy, so natural, and almost free. Love watching hardworking Stella. ❤

Loved these activities! I live in Florida and fall here is basically just a cooler version of summer and I’m missing being able to go on nature walks and pick up changing leaves and pinecones! I loved how you explained the math activity! 🙌

I will try the flowers actually because Huda is always picking flowers toshow her gran and me. She loves smelling every new plant we come across but i have top watch out for dangerous ones. I feel like this is the first time im learning the names of flowers and which plants to avoid too. Aahhh those insects creep me out hahah i held a spider for the first time in 15 years just to show Huda and i was suprised at how composed i was inside i was freaking out but still she really does like creepy crawlies. Haha i love how Stella also is keen on stickers. The connecting schema is so strong all the time the stacking magents on the fridge and the stickers are always appealing if you don't mind the pun. I loove the pumpkins transfering activity outside!! Outside is the key because i for some reason didn't think to do this in a place where it was okay to just fully refine their movements gradually withoue me trying to minimise the spillige. Pine cones!!!! I have been waiting for pine cones it was my favourite thing of autumn after the leaves and those seeds that we called helicopter seeds idk they would spiral whilst falling and i am excited for Huda to get an experience with them. All of these look cool but obviously as you said the child's walk in nature is the best sensory experience. Huda loves crunching the leaves now they've started to fall. All these colours and the smell of rain is just so calming. Love this whole immersion idea. You can tell it works as kylie has always noticed when the seasons change so its worth it to give them some new activities with 100% natural materials.

So many people have messaged me that they collect flowers with their kiddos! Where is everyone finding wild flowers that can be picked? 🥺 We only have natural preserve areas and those cannot be disturbed. In the neighborhood, it's all grass 🥺 I've been waiting for those helicopter seeds too-that is my strongest memory of fall! We used to open them and stick them on our noses, pretending to be Pinocchio! Dont have any of those around here either though 😭 The insects creep me out as well. I'm terrified of insects. But she's so calm with them and I'm hoping exposure will prevent her from having the same fear. That's why I was behind her with the camera instead of next to her 😅 Stella is surprisingly just keen on peeling stickers from everything. Has been ever since she found her hands. I remember introducing her to "painting" when she learned to crawl. I put paper with paint a ziploc bag taped in the floor...and she just immersed herself in trying to peel the tape off instead 😅 Yes the pumpkin activity outside was a last minute stroke of genius! I was getting ready to cover the kitchen in towels when I looked outside and realized how silly it was to stay there when the weather is still so nice! She really enjoyed the freedom to spill and pour EVERYWHERE. We have been really lucky with fall this year. I cannot remember the last time we really enjoyed so much nice weather. Typically we pick our Halloween costumes to fit over our winter jackets! A few years ago we cancelled Halloween because there was a snow storm! But after this week of fall immersion activities, I've noticed Stella really pay attention more to her surroundings and gravitate towards the leaves and pinecones....that nature tray has been used every single day since we made it 🤣

@@MariaandMontessori hahahaha you're so funny those insects i wind not even look at if i could. They're so biiig its too creepy like all those tropical jungle films we watched oversized insects are the creepiest to me😣 I actually live near where we grew up so i even know which tree to go in our park i just wish thete was a corn field here uk weather won't allow it and sometimes won't allow us outside even if we'r are wrapped up and im holding an umbrella. I am excited for a gib fluffy snow suite that she can use once it's snowing if that happens near December this time but right now Wellington boots are the besssst Huda loves puddles so i guess children will be happy anywhere in nature but i definitely wish it was still a bit dry so we can do more outside activities. We usually do look more at what others have than what we already do but i think you guys have a better autumn all those pumkins!! 🙏🏼 I am so greatful for your quick thinking with the transfer activity outside it's something I will take with me into a life of parenting: Take the water and child outside let em have fun and learn. Lol if the weather is not chucking it down😅 Awwhhhh infant Stella 😚She's too cute. Huda still likes playing with ziplock bag paint but now we make these unique paintings when i add a paper in it. Always looks cool on the sparse side of the paper when the colours mix to make turquoise and sunset colours. I think she might be fully aware she's mixing colours but she likes looking at the ombre of new colours and i hang it up somewhere for us. Hahahaha I remember when I just learnt of Montessori near 5 months old and one day I was peeling off this difficult paper sticker from a bamboo bowl for Huda's sensory activity and she was watching so intensely. I remembered about the development of fine motor skills and at that point she wad using get pincer instead of the full fist grasp that i was predicting so it made sense to let her take some of the strips of sticker off. Ever since out of all activities I can prepare in the home nothing will get her focused as much as a tough sticker. I love that matching activity that book is so beautiful too. I do love all these natural materials in the home which we'r rarely got to keep for long we didn't really have a place for them either so it is satisfying when there is a thought out activity using them on the shelf in comparison to what normally happens with those. Actually i remember now i used to line them up a differentiate between the smaller and bigger ones. Hahaha now i know what schemas and sorting tasks i was doing.

Love this video Maria ❤️ 🍁 my child was also not into the sensory bin when I introduced it and it became clear she needed something more specific to do with the dry beans so we did transfer/dry pouring instead ☺️ Stella reminds me so much of my daughter, such busy toddlers we have 🥰

Aldo thank you for reassuring me that hand over hand is still a good option. I feel off about it even when i know it would be better for the activity especially in cooking but right now i got myself in a situation where Huda has gotten used to me taking a step back trying not to have too much control and she wants me to not to hand over hand even when it is needed sometimes. I want to follow the child ut i think i made this situation for mysekf where there will be times where i need to do this but she won't let me and the activity will not be achievable without the help and so we just will miss out on it or if its practical like cooking i might not be able to involve her. Maybe im worrying about something that is not yet written but i would like to know how to make her feel more comfortable with gentle guidence.

Stella is the exact same way. She needs to try, try, and try again before she is open to the idea of me helping. I think it's a great sign that they've learned they have a lot of ability to do things independently! When it's not something dangerous, like peeling corn or pouring water, I'll let her try until she gives me her "oops OK I need help" look. If it's something that would be dangerous without my help (carrying a tray with glass) I just gently take her hands while saying "mommy will help with this one today so we don't get hurt". Sometimes that's enough, sometimes I start either telling her about what we will do (if there's mention of flowers, she immediately forgets that I'm helping and focuses on that) or I just start singing a fun melody that she likes to imitate. A mental redirection 😅

Where did you get your trays and insects?
@MariaandMontessori
@MariaandMontessori 2 года назад
The insects are by Wild Republic. I've seen them at craft stores (Michael's, JoAnn..), Target, and Amazon! tinyurl.com/x6vzcnhw The trays are from a number of places! The narrow, plastic ones (for flower arranging, her water station, painting..)are various trays from Montessori Services. The blue tray she's painting on is just from a local Korean dollar tree. The square wooden tray is also from Amazon! tinyurl.com/7rep6knm

I have a 14 about to be 15 month old Im not sure if I should be concerned but she doesn’t do puzzles she loses interests in activities quick quickly sometimes she also gets frustrated very easily what activities do you recommend on doing ?
@MariaandMontessori
@MariaandMontessori 2 года назад
I wouldn't say there's a reason to be concerned from just that! What types of activities is she frustrated with? Which ones does she lose interest in? And what does she end up doing when she abandons those activities then?
@SamanthaAntunez
@SamanthaAntunez 2 года назад
@@MariaandMontessori omg thank you for responding! Your videos are very inspiring and amazingly detailed She loses interest in puzzle we were subscribed to love every but I’ve noticed she never really played with the toys so their toys are also some she loses interest in I’ve been trying pouring activities with beans or water but she also loses interest when loses interest she just moves on to the next activity or looks for something else to do
@MariaandMontessori

Puzzles were hit and miss for a long time for us and most of Lovevery's items rarely aligned with my daughter's interests too! Important to remember tho, at this age their concentration won't always be super long. Sometimes we had moments of great concentration, and those are theboptions I put in my 14-15 mlnth activities video, but sometimes she'd do an activity once and be done. Both are normal! If she's not into pouring, is she interested in any transfer/containment at all? Or posting like pegs on a pegboard? 14-15 is also when we had a huge interest in starting to match items and using our latches barn. Open and close trays have been a consistent hit as well. Is she interested in gross motor? If she's gone through all of the activities, what does she gravitate towards after that? There was a period when Stella would fly through her shelf work and spend the rest of the day taking things in and our of the pantry...so I gave her the walking wagon, and she started transporting things around the house. Eventually we replaced our groceries with other toys and that became a favorite activity. Is there something similar that you notice her gravitate towards that's not necessarily an activity?
