Last year 75% of my vision board came true so that's one thing I'm definitely bringing into 2023! All about taking it easy for my mental health this year
As a hobbie you could do a small scrapbook of your travels. Make it really simple with a few of your favourite photos, the dates and a title, and maybe decorate around the photos. I'm doing one at the moment, I love looking back at all the good memories and it nice to have a dedicated place for that part of my life ❤
I play the piano and love it. I think learning an instrument is a wonderful hobby. I'm a busy mom of 3 and I always like to find time to play. It's a very therapeutic hobby. Highly recommend.
A hobby you could do could be sewing. I started last year and I now have a whole wardrobe full of perfectly fitting clothes suiting my style perfectly. This year I want to sew things for my home so I’m going to make a quilt and throw pillows. Maybe some silk pillowcases too. It’s really fun choosing fabrics and patterns and there are also loads of sewing RU-vidrs to follow

Really recommend learning to play an instrument as a hobby! I play the piano and it’s so nice to sit and play for an hour or so and not go on my phone or worry/stress about life. It’s such a good distraction from everything 😊
I love that you set realistic goals and routines to slowly but surly get you to be the best version of yourself. And I don’t think you’re crazy for doing daily affirmations! I do them too and you’re right they’re so helpful ❤
Yes please do the affirmations video! Our thoughts become our things and positive thinking and talking to ourselves nicely is massive! I love to give myself a compliment in the mirror every morning. Does wonders for my self esteem. January is hard. We all need a little extra kindness and mental health encouragement x
My friends and I started doing a crea-afternoon every week, just trying out different types of arts and crafts while chatting/enjoying it in silence. It is really a moodchanger for me ‘cause I get so happy being creative! Also always enjoy a good dance class! Thanks for the tips Emily ❤️
I went through a breakup in 2022 from my partner of 11 years who I started dating in 4th year at secondary school & it really hit deep, so in my journey to finding happiness & being content on my own I picked up a hobby which was pottery! You don't need a wheel & there are places all over with a kiln service you can use. Basically, I kept coming across the CUTEST mugs/vases etc from small businesses on insta/Pinterest & they were quite expensive (at least they were for me) so I thought you know what, when little one is in bed at night & I'm feeling lonely & in my feels I'll try & make my own with the help of some yt tutorials 😆 it's so satisfying/ relaxing. I made halloween vases with pumpkins on/mugs with boo-tea ghosts for myself & a minion mug for my daughter, as well as Christmas/ valentines themed things & I also made a few trinket dishes & mugs for all the grandparents Christmas presents which had my 4 year olds drawings & their names which she handwritten engraved into them, & yeah.. it's just been one of the best things I've started doing. Literally makes me forget about my phone & totally zone off from the TV & any stresses in my life. Also makes me feel accomplished & proud when people ask me where I bought them from then if I can make them something. Also if you don't want to buy the equipment (your own clay/ cutters/ glazes/ paint brushes) then there are also ceramic cafés where the item is made, you just have to glaze it 🤍 sorry that was so long winded! 😂
I LOVE that idea. You've definitely gained a huge personal positive from that situation! I'm sorry to hear that, but it's so empowering to hear how you've embraced a new hobby and gained a new passion out of it all.. definitely stick with it! You never know what it might turn into in 2023 and beyond 🤍
A hobby I started last year is crocheting and I love it. ☺️ makes great selfmade gifts (for easter last year i made everyone a crochet animal) and just helps me relax and get away from the pc and laptop for a few hours.
Scrapbook. It fits in with memories and you could always start with your travels if you don’t feel like doing old photos. Project life can be a easy way to get started too.
I love the idea of setting a theme for each month! Definitely would make sticking to goals/priorities less monotonous and allow you to not feel guilty. Definitely trying this this year! X
I'm making a 2023 crochet temperature blanket! I'm an avid crocheter but I think you could definitely pick it up and use a simple stitch to start with... a row a day every day and then at the end of the year you have a blanket and a memory of the year, win win! 😊💗

I kayak. yes its a sport but its so relaxing too! I do it on lakes or in the sea but you can also try on moving water too for adrenaline. It's amazing for bad joints because you can make it low impact but keep up range of motion and amazing for core strength. Also has a great community of paddlers who always want to help other people get better at the sport.

I love this video! I’ve found the beginning of this year so sad and depressing because that was how I left 2022. So I definitely need to reset, I’ve made myself a ‘things I loved in 2023’ journal for the year. I have no plans at all apart from work for the year which I think is part of why I’m feeling a bit naff. So fingers crossed I can shift everything this year!
I love the format for goals you have!! I love to crochet and it's a great hobby to get yourself off your phone for awhile and there are tons of RU-vid videos on it and it's impossible it fail if you take your time!!

You should start taking ceramics! I used to love throwing pottery just to have my quiet time away from all my life stressors. It really helped and I got to bring some pretty nice vases and bowls home as well 😊

Hobbies I’ve been considering : taking up dancing (Irish or salsa) Starting a small herb garden or balcony garden Sewing Painting /sketching learning from RU-vid
As for hobby- I sew clothing and I LOVE itttt! (I vlog mainly about DIY fashion on my channel.) Knitting is also fun and requires a bit less attention-with sewing you have to pay a lot more attention because of the sewing machine, but with knitting you can knit while you watch tv/movies, etc!
Hi Emily, I think that a fun hobby for fashion lover like yourself could be learning how to sew 🧵! You can be creative in a different about fashion and you could be creating your dream fashion pieces that fit you like a glow and are everything you wanted them to be 💜
Pick up sewing!! You’re always taking things to the tailor as you appreciate a perfect fitting, good quality piece but what if you could adjust your clothing yourself? I’ve done it for a few years and it’s such a useful skill to have, once you get used to using your machine it’s super easy. The good thing is if you don’t get too into it it’s not trendy so it’s such a useful thing to have around your house for many years to come. Happy new year ❤

Try crochet, it is the only hobby I have actually stuck with. Taught myself off RU-vid and finishing projects is so rewarding, especially cute things for friends babies. Once you get good it is something that you can do alongside watching TV

As a hobby suggestion. Try cross stitching. I know it sounds old school but personally i find it calming as well as therapeutic, it gives me a creative outlet and at the end you have something you can give to family or friends as presents. Also means finding a pattern to do is easier because I can find a theme for people.
you should start crocheting! I started about a year ago and there's soo many things you can create. I believe it much easier than knitting. I've found it's a great hobby for making gifts, and everything you can learn you can find a tutorial video on youtube for. I think you'd be great at it em!
What an amazing video Emily, there can be so much pressure in January to feel like you need to change so much about yourself and your life but these ideas were realistic and positive and refreshing to hear. I'd suggest you start reading books but not in general. I started reading books this year that are similar to the movies or shows i like to watch or have watched and loved them, and i want to make a collection of them! It's like you keep a souvenir of every show you like. Or you could totally learn a new language 😍

painting or charity work/ volunteer some time …choose something that interests you and can try it out without too much commitment at first and see if this is something you may want to invest more time over the year
I really enjoy to read but also to do colouring by number (I've got these disney books where each page is a different photo of a character and while colouring you figure out who it is... The books I use for this are in French but I'm Dutch and don't speak French, as long as you understand colouring by number you won't use and languague at all)

That way, no matter how awful their day was, no matter how little they felt they'd accomplished, when they were getting ready to go to sleep the next night they would have proof that they actually *did* accomplish something and *did* impose some order on the chaos in their lives... even if it was only to have made their bed that morning. :-)
