Not underneath, park her in front of the station with the nose down. Also the moment i saw that all the turrets are medium turbolaser, i knew you won't get 14 km range. The long range turbolaser on the Vindicator have 12 km, which is the highest in it's class. The d6 dual turbolaser have under 10 km, which is still much for their size. Therefor i wonder why you were surprised by the short range of your weapons? You could have looked at the encyclopedia.
Front facing nose down does mean you get all your guns on target, but it also means the station has all of its guns on target and due to the angle of your ship you are presenting a much larger target (basically nose down means your showing your enemy a door rather than a spear tip). Underneath means you have the majority of your guns firing, less targets for your guns to fire at means concentrated fire (split fire is an enemy when you need to cripple a station quickly) on singular targets without mass micromanaging and the stations usually only have 50% of their firepower able to shoot at you due to the firing arcs of defence platforms (def plats have 1 heavy turret on top and one on the bottom). As for the ranges, didn't look at the ships loadout in all that detail. Most ships of that size have bigger hardpoints. So, I assumed, the big bad sith ship would have the big bad boomsticks. It is very rare I actually play in the meta efficient way on games because its rather boring.
@@captgumption That is also true. On the other hand it looks like the ship has really high DPS for a small 800m Star Destroyer. You could compare the DPS of your weapons in what would happen if you switch them to D6 dual turbolaser. If you could change them to Vindicators long range turbolaser, that would make the ship extremely OP. But sadly it seems impossible.
