Ghoul Daze made me love Dusknoir, a Pokémon that little me was always scared of It remains as one of my favourite episodes that I’d love to revisit someday
“Fear Factor Phony”, “Ghoul Daze!”, “Scare at the Litwick Mansion!”, “Seeking Shelter From the Storm!”, “Scary Hospitality!”, and “A Haunted House for Everyone!” are definitely my favorite horror-esque episodes of the Pokémon anime.
For me the scariest episode would have to be the Litwick one from BW. I remember feeling pretty uneasy watching it as a kid mainly due to the way Team rocket was presented in the episode. The way they were animated and behaving while the Litwick drained their life force was low key terrifying(they looked like they were truly on the verge of death). I felt bad for them.
The scream of Cilan in the litwick episode is immortal 😂. Sinnoh episode was really scary as well. Poor Conway nearly had a journey to death😂 And I don’t remember Hoenn episode at all being honest. Btw do you remember one episode in which a ghastly was using it’s power to do strange things, like using fire extinguisher on charmander and creating a hybrid pokemon of Venusaur and Blastoise. I mean it was a cursed episode. I don’t have proper memory of that episode but still that Hybrid pokemon was.....cursed AF. I think that episode could have made the list. What do you say?
I decided not to include that episode because it's not scary at all lol. It is a crazy episode though, the image of Misty holding up a cross to a Gastly is one of the funniest images from the anime ever😂 but just not scary enough to make the list
Think about how I start every Journeys episode review with a ~15 second clip from the episode. I choose that length because I know it works. So I basically did the same thing like 12 times in one video lol. The longest segment of episode footage that I used, I flashed up the "subscribe" pop up to obscure it, just in case it was too long of an episode clip
Whenever Lana's sister Sara comes in the anime, I get confused because my name is Sarah 😂. In the game it was even more confusing, but at least I spell it different.
I just rewatched that episode recently, I guess it is a little freaky but I guess to me it's always obvious that it's an illusion, so that takes out all of the scariness in my opinion, it turns into more of a comedic episode with a dark twist that the Ninetails's owner passed away
Havent watched the episode yet but i hope the lighthouse episode is in it cause that shit was creepy af , have seen Every Pokemon episode every season untill the latest ultra journeys ( had also a creepy episode) the gehost train
The first Malamar episode where it brainwashes people was an honorable mention. I just didn't want to add more time to this video than what I already had, so I did not include any honorable mentions in the video itself
Big fan of Abra and the Psychic Showdown. I'll have to check out a lot of these for the first time. Because of the voice changes, I've never really been able to objectively watch or enjoy Fear Factor Phony, unfortunately. Maybe if I could somehow find the Japanese version that would change, but for now it hasn't, and i really want to like the episode
Idk, the episode wasn't really scary and I don't think it was especially good enough to get a mention on here. Maybe if it was a top 15 it would make the cut
I don't think there is a story lol I just always thought they were creepy. Much scarier to me than the generic bad guy in a mask or someone who's name you cant repeat, etc.
@@EliteTrainerMark I can relate to this in a way. In my case, the thing that scared me the most in Pokémon, back in my childhood, was Dragon Rage used by James' Gyarados. I don't know why it was so scary to me, i would just freeze or look away when seeing the move crashing on Ash & Co... Maybe it was due to how Misty described it ? Or the realization of something ? I don't know...
They did make a really big deal about that Dragon Rage lol. Which was funny because it's a normal move, but in that moment Misty was like oh my god they're unleashing the most powerful attack ever
