every man should be a leader to himself, to rule over his self, to reign supreme over his desires, to have his mind exert control over his body. stoicism is the way to become that kind of person.
Thank you for introducing me to Stoicism Ryan. Life has been tough, really tough. You have helped me inspire myself. Life is still a challenge, but with your help and me not giving up, I am finding peace.
Thank you, Mr. Ryan. I learned something very valuable from this video, and that is, as you've said to become a good leader, you must be a good reader. And I think that just fully resonates with me because I just started reading up a lot of self development books and I recently just picked up on two of my most favorite books of yours, "Discipline is Destiny" and "Ego is The Enemy". By far, I really enjoyed them and have learned a lot of practical things that I could implement to my day-to-day life, like disregarding my ego because it can very well potentially hinder my success and my continuous learning and growth, and Discipline is Destiny has given me the right mindset to navigate the daily good habits that I set out to pursue. You are a really great person and leader, and you are one of the leaders that I look up to the most, please keep your content up!
"Rushing is another form of going nowhere." (from the mindfulness book 30 Days to Reduce Anxiety, by Harper Daniels). I like this quote by Harper Daniels. It seems like stoicism, eastern thoughts, and all world religions share the important message of slowing down, being grateful for the present moment, and not taking life so seriously. I like the Tao Te Ching also for meditation, for this reason...for emptying the mind. Marcus Aurelius said “Today I escaped from anxiety. Or no, I discarded it, because it was within me, in my own perceptions; not outside.” It's so important to practice silence each day, to slow down and observe oneself.
Ryan, does it ever occur to you that for so many people you are the modern day Marcus Aurelias. Love the content and the way you explain stoicism as a whole, keep up the great work. You're a legend.

Ryan, I can't thank you enough. There's a lot of stoic videos on RU-vid, but fewer Stoicism videos. I love that you're not relying on AI, or attempting guilt trips about being Stoic in today's world, or any other bs simply for views. You deliver true Stoicism, and I appreciate you, man. Your books, videos and daily email are exactly what helps, and what I need. Between you, Robert Greene, Massimo Pigliucci, and a small handful of others, I have never looked up to others nearly as much, thank you. 🤘

I'll see you and Robert Greene in Seattle on 9/21. My domestic partner and I are driving there from Portland. She finally sees the benefits of stoicism because I haven't stopped practicing it since the beginning of our relationship 4 years ago. I'm looking forward to it, and I'm grateful that you and Mr. Greene will be close to home. I've been watching your videos and receiving daily stoic emails for a long time now. You don't have to have an opinion about that. Lol. ✌️
No. People need to stop being so damn obtuse! It's just a damn phrase. It's not harmful, hate filled or any other bout of ridiculousness. It's a simple phrase. Cowering to ridiculous social norms is only making unnecessary bs worse. People can't handle something so innocuous as an old saying, yet expect to grasp stoicism? Interesting. It's not that it's bothersome as nearly as much as baffling. If things aren't to bother you, as Marcus Aurelius said, why does a simple phrase need a silly disclaimer? It's a serious question, nothing else. Interpret it as you wish.
you dont't have to be a simp to have or create a happy wife. By being a leader a true alpha that succeeds in all areas of life, this is the key to a happy wife. Not catering to her or running around trying to make her happy like a puppet. I understand what you are trying to say, and I agree, if your main focus is to soley make her happy at the sacrifice of other things, then yes you are a simp.
