I loved *everything* about tonight's deep sea spectacle, but.. 40:00 _oooh,_ the cool dude crab in the sponge hat has to be my favourite! 😁 The anemone-crab mutualism is one of the ocean's most quintessential symbiotic relationships.. the art of living together in perfect harmony..🐚💚😚 Thank you to my dearest DSO for the wonderful show.. 🦑💚🎶👏
😂 ikr It was quite funny. Little guy was like, im late move your booty! 😂 I love ocean life. They have no idea they live in an ocean and no idea there is no where else. It’s just their home.
Another truly awesome video! The ocean never fails to amaze me❤ Y'all never disappoint! Some of those Critters were just amazing! thank you so much for the work you do! Always really enjoy it!❤
incredible the number of strange and beautiful animals that scientists are discovering and in my opinion there are even more incredible and fantastic ones to discover🤔
Thank you DSO for this absolutely fantastic video! So enjoyable to watch I find it amazing that such strong oceanic currents exist at such great depths something I have always wondered about an A+ on another of your videos.
That's our guy! His musical collection is the envy of all, *and* he's positively brilliant at choosing the best material for each and every one of these clips: making our hearts leap for joy or fall utterly into the depths
13:45 I do believe that was a hit and run right there! What a collision! That hermit crab must have been clocking in at what, 11, 12 inches an hour? It's not surprising, considering his age; it's easy to see that he's young, he hasn't been able to stay still long enough to attract his life-partner anemone. They're so irresponsible at that age! Did anyone get his plate number? He was just a little too fast for me.
It's awe inspiring to see the diversity and individuality in the deep-sea🧐 If only more hermit crabs would evolve into true crabs, my dinner options would be richer...
8:54 Almost 6,500 meters is absolutely insane. Would you be able to do a video exclusively showcasing ultra-deep creatures, like hadal zone stuff? If you already have some, please direct me there.
Guys what if Cusk Eels were called Tusk Eels and they can shoot fingernails and fight the president of United States that would be rather humorous I think
A+ for you. Some species have eyes but they’re more vestigial relics of when they needed them to survive. Many deep sea animals retain eyes but they’re effectively blind. They have other powerful sensory organs to to detect prey and predators. Evolution is amazing.
The orange and white banded squid at 3:48 is likely a unidentified species of Mastigoteuthidae or whiplash squid, given that the mystery squid shares similar proportions as well as having the same tentacles that most whiplash squids possess.
@@AbyssalArchivesA538 I look at the species you mentioned, and I must, the are quite similar. Although, I'm not sure if chiroteuthids possess the same "whiplash" tentacles that mastigoteuthids have.
Is it just me, or does the Ocean look filthy? If my fishtank looked like that I would be putting cleaning and putting Antifungal or Antibiotics in the tank. I still love deep-sea videos though. Thank You 😊
The ocean is full of life that rids itself of waste regularly and eventually dies. The water is full of waste and decaying animal and plant matter that will eventually settle onto the bottom of the deepest depths where there's nowhere else to go. Decaying matter looks like dirt, rot, and excrement. So yes, the ocean is very "dirty".
No, the deep sea is not filthy. In fact, it’s oxygen and nutrient rich. Marine snow from the shallows builds up on the ocean floor and it can appear dirty. The deep sea is one of the last pristine environments.
@@pimpozzaThat’s true, but the world ocean is immense and the hadal zone is still pristine with nutrient rich water and oxygen. I wouldn’t describe the depths as dirty at all.
@@JustinLHopkins Research has shown how microplastics, chemicals and radioactive products are prevalent in the hadal trenches, Justin.. Humanity’s footprint sadly extends to the deepest places on earth, affecting the balance of oxygen in the oceans and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.. I remember one study explaining how PCB levels in the amphipods tested from the Mariana Trench were *50 times greater* than in crabs from the Liaohe River, one of the most polluted waterways in China! 😒
Whoever was controlling the camera on the squid species in the second clip should be fired. I was just trying to look closely at the front squid to see if that was two mating or one that had eaten a second
The name of each creature comes before each clip, Teresa.. but sizing is more difficult.. DSO has often stated in the description that the two red lazer dots you often see on the clips are 10cm apart, which gives an indication of the size of some of them.. 👍🙋🏻♀️
