So what this video proves is that Strauss is responsible for like 95% of the merry go round tracks in Rollercoaster Tycoon.

Every New Year we watch the concert from Vienna, they always have 3 Encores, a surprise piece, the Beautiful Blue Danube, and the Radetsky March. Fun fact: all the vintage instruments are owned by the orchestra, not the musicians. They are carefully selected to match each other and the performance space for an optimal sound.

Wow. Brings back memories. In the early Sixties, I was forced to take piano lessons and had to learn a couple of those tunes. Turned me off classical music for a while. I picked up on the electric guitar in 1967 and destroyed any memories I had of Strauss. (I still have that same electric guitar today!!) Slowly I was drawn back to the keyboard and started enjoying Beethoven. But I still prefer the guitar. Thanks for the memories!!

10 Strauss pieces is easy to find considering you have at least 5 composers named Strauss to pick from. We start with Johann Strauss the elder. Then go to his three sons Johann Baptist Strauss (aka. Johann Strauss the younger), Josef Strauss, and Eduard Strauß (ß is a German sign for a double s). To find the fifth we jump family and find Richard Strauss.

All right, Johann Strauss did write a waltz called "Du und Du". That waltz came out after Die Fledermaus, however, and it was built around several melodies from that operetta, only one of which was included in what Vinheteiro played. So the song from Die Fledermaus containing that melody should have been given as the "name" of the piece.
