Wonderful list of summer games! Of course at the moment it's Winter where I am, but I love the summertime! Pokemon Sun and Moon are PERFECT examples of the summer season!
Oh yeah, haha forgot it’s winter down there but I guess not quite like the winters I get where it’s -30°C and freezing! So happy summer is here for me!!!
Hey uppernimbus! Didn't expect to see you here! Its strange that some of my favorite youtubers either watched each others videos or subscribe to each others channels.
FF15 has a great summer roadtrip vibe. Zombie ate my Neighbors has a lot of kid summery vibes, running around outdoors with squirt guns jumping on trampolines and in swimming pools.
I've been playing through the Xenoblade Chronicles remake on switch on the back porch and all the open fields and environments really fit the summer vibe
Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth is such a perfect pick for this list! FF X is my favorite Final Fantasy game, might be time for another play through 😆. Great video as always.
I always think about Pokémon Sun/Moon or Ruby/Sapphire when talking about summer games. And yes got to have Like a Dragon there! For JRPGs, I also say Ys VIII is a great one with it's tropical theme too. Sakura Wars is such a nice chill game that I would pick for the summer too
Yes! Sometimes I forget that Danganronpa 2 is on a tropical island, I love how wild and different it is from the other games. Loving the summer vibes, I need more of them in my life.
I can't think of games that can remind you of summer right now but I can give you a list of games that reminds you of winter in Australia 😂 I really enjoyed this video!
@@Armando_Aranda Femtrooper already has a kid, who is turning 5 this year (or has already) and I do not know if English is the only language she speaks. I guess she can just comment to who ever she wants too if that person has the most interesting comment. For example, I didn't expect here to respond to my comment. But when I check my emails, I saw that she had responded to a comment I made on one of her videos. Also, just curious, it that profile pic of yours a real face of you or a face of another person? Also, not to be rude or offensive, you look pretty chubby by the way.
What a fun list! I need to get round to a Yakuza game eventually, some of them being summery actually moves them up my mental list! I hadn't considered FFX a summery game, but you're right - it has that tropical vibe to a lot of the world. For me there are three main games that feel summery to me: Ys VIII, because it's set on basically a tropical island (and the soundtrack has a track called Sunshine Coastline which is possibly the most summer VGM I've ever heard). Secret of Mana, partly because I associate it with playing games during the summer as a kid/early teenager, and partly because the early parts of the game are full of greenery and brightly coloured flowers. Finally, Paradise Killer because it's set on a fictional island which very much has a Miami Beach aesthetic (I went to Miami Beach earlier this year and I'd be very surprised it if wasn't an inspiration for some parts of PK). So it just feels like sun and upbeat vibes, even though the game itself is about solving a murder...
I love the topic! You do a great job at providing a variety of content that isn’t samey rehash topics like other content creators. Keep it up! Also, I agree with you about DK. God tier platformers!
Summer in Mara is probably not your type of game. It’s rather cozy, but it has a really touching story and really great characters and it’s absolutely a summer vibe game.
Wonderful list! I have most of them! Thank you for the list and the recommendation for FFx-2. Would be great to hear you talk more about the game if you wanted to 😊
@@femtrooper yes ma'am I'm trying my best to be the best version of me that I can be and be optimistic! I think this summer is going to be great and the seasons to come are just going to get even better. One day at a time with the inspiration of Jesus and great video games my life just keeps getting better Paige. God bless you and your family prayers, love and peace to y'all. I pray your channel keeps getting bigger too you deserve it you're such a great content creator and I love to see beautiful women like yourself that plays video games and juggles family life on up of that. You're a true idea of a modern woman in my opinion. I really enjoy watching videos everytime you put one out. You give me hope and inspire me to keep being myself. My dream is to have a woman as amazing as you in my life. You're perfect and awesome in every way. Have a blessed day!
Awesome video!! I love ultra moon so much, it’s my second favorite Pokémon game of all time 🤓 and yessss blue reflection. Such a good game! We need more fans of the series so we can get a 3rd game 😎
Good list. One I'd think of is Windjammers 1 and 2 both available on switch, not much more summer vibes than battling your opponent with a frisbee on the beach
Mine would have to be legend of zelda windwaker. Your sailing in the sea visiting all these islands characters swimming can't get anymore summery feeling than that which is why I hope that the direct finally announces it to the switch
YAKUZA REPRESENT!!!! Infinite Wealth was great. Yakuza 3 was OK but I still enjoyed it. Definitely summer vibes for sure! Great choice for X & X-2. I need to replay them! Also laughed out loud for your weeb pick 🤣Great choices all around!!!!
Summer’s got to be the season with the most thematically appropriate video games. (I wonder if that says anything about what gamers/devs long for.) That was a cool list with far more RPGs than I was expecting, and I’m surprised that we only overlapped on 2 games that I set aside for next year’s list. Do you think you’ll be sticking to seasonal games lists? Autumn’s not too hard to fill with Halloween, and winter’s got quite a selection too. Spring seems to be the most challenging to find games for:
Another Code Recollection is another amazing summer game. While the first part is the winter, the second part is the summer. It takes place a resort, and I don't want to spoil anything else. But it is just amazing visual novel, with some of the best characters and stories Nintendo has ever made. As for Yakuza 3. It is one of the best Yakuza games (unpopular opnion, I know). The first chapters of the story is all about parenthood, and there is even a main mission of playing baseball with the kids.
Finally someone else giving Pokémon Sun & Moon their summer flowers 🌸 Here are some more summer games! 1. Pokémon Sun & Moon (as you mentioned the Hawaii setting and for me, Alohan Raichu alone makes it a summer game with the PokéFella surfing 🏄 on its own tail!!! so throw New Pokémon Snap and Let’s Go Surfing Raichu in there for summer games as well 😂) 2. Wavetale (Walking on water adventure) 3. Kingdom Hearts FM (Destiny Island) 4. Kirby and the Forgotten Land (Opening level and boss screamed summer and the hub world also screams summer) 5. Sonic Heroes (GameCube port with Seaside Hill, Ocean Palace, and Frog Forest Zone!! 10/10 summer vibes) 6. Ys VIII (Swashbuckling Island vibes) 7. Wind Waker (of course, water sailing theme) 8. FF X (Ocean Asian theme as u mentioned already) 9. Hi Fi Rush 10. And not out yet but Bloomtown: A Different Story looks summer vibes
Awesome selection for summer games! I have a few I consider summer games too: Resident Evil 5 (since it takes place in Africa with the sun hanging over you), any of the Uncharted games since they give the feel of a summer blockbuster, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 especially since Angel Island Zone reminds me of the start of summer, and Animal Crossing New Horizons or New Leaf.
FFX my first RPG brings back so many memories, I haven't got around to playing it again but I own the Switch version now. Blue Reflection I only own the first game and yet to start but I am a sucker for those Japanese School style games ( like Persona series )
Great list and great topic. My game would be Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag because it takes place in the Caribbean and it feels hot and summery. Plus it’s the best AC game in my opinion.
love the list. second light and yokai are VERY summer! i ended up getting yokai 1 and 4 on the Japanese eshop, and despite the language barrier, 4 is still one of my favorites on the switch. i followed shintendo's english translation walkthrough for story.
I've been playing Dave the Diver lately and I think that's a great summer game. In reality, when I think about summer games I think about playing games with my neighborhood friends as a kid. That could be Halo, Super Smash Bro, Mario Kart, etc. All those great multiplayer games were great for escaping the heat with your friends.
Those are great recommendations. I think my Summer game will be the new Trails Through Day Break and I'm thinking about getting Kirby and The Forgotten Land, although I'm not crazy about platforms games. Also you gonna watch the Nintendo Direct today?
Awesome list! Don't feel bad, Final Fantasy X is one of my favorite games of all time and I never actually beat it either 😅 I got to the last dungeon and dropped it. Also I'm glad Rebirth has summer vibes because I just got my hands on it finally!
Some of the old Sega fishing games are fantastic for the summer. I don't particularly care much for sports or fishing IRL, but my brothers and dad do so I'm a bit nostalgic for the setting/theme of it. Speaking of Sega, both Sonic Adventure games fit really well with summer as well.
Kandagawa Jet Girls definitely is a summer vibe game and also I feel like Akiba's Trip is too. Zanki Zero definitely and even though it is a hated game,Loop 8 belongs too, because i am one of the few weirdos that likes that game lol
if you played through a game a good chunk, I'd say you're good to talk about it, especially if you made it to the last boss, like you most definitely played the game at that point even if you didn't beat it technically also Ys 8 has become THE game I think of when I think of summer, probably b/c I played it when it launched on Switch which was summer 2018
Monster Hunter Stories 1 and 2 because the games are so colorful. Also, they make you feel like you're going on a real adventure. Both games are now available on PS4, Switch, and PC. For me, they're better than Pokémon.
Summer games for me is probably Red Dead Redemption 2 and 1 in that order, God of War 2018 and Ragnarök, Definitely Uncharted series. Spider-Man from 2018 is definitely a Summer game. Probably Super Mario Odyssey as well, Zelda the two newer ones. But right now I'm doing Cyberpunk 2077. Also just got Lies of P last Monday so I've been beating that. Also got Judgement waiting in the background unfortunately.
@@femtrooper Ever played a soulslike, Femtrooper? If not, I'd recommend Lies since it's the easiest one to do. And fun. It's a game about Pinocchio but more the book's version than the movie. And you can find these records in the games. It is an absolutely amazing soundtrack. I'd never heard a more beautiful soundtrack in a game than this one.
Hey Femtrooper! Did you see the direct yet? I was really shocked to see some games there such as Romancing Saga 2 remake, a Phantom Brave sequel, and a new game from the dangaronpa developers (which I forgot the name of, its still fresh in my mind). Though sadly, no Tokimeki Memorial or Power Pros (Pawapuro) news (and Suikoden too) 😭😭😢😿. Pawapuro was briefly mentioned in the Japanese direct, though it was only a reminder of its release date (JAPAN ONLY SADLY). And even worse of all, I'm a little sick as well. Come on Konami! Please give us these games to finally to America! I will still keep looking for any updates about the two former games. I won't give up untl Konami finally surrenders and gives them to us. America was built from that motto and feeling Well, in the meantime, I will be off playing SMT V:V when I eventually get it. We at least still got something too look forward too. What games are you planning to pick up from the direct that was shown recently?
Oh man! So many! New Zelda, DQIII, Phantom Brave, DKC Returns port, The Hundred Line, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Mio, Fantasian, and Mario & Luigi!!! It was amazing!
@@femtrooper Well, I only plan mostly getting 4 from what was shown on the direct and they are third party releases. Those 4 games I am looking forward to buying and playing from the direct are the Phantom Brave sequel, Dragon Quest III HD 2D remake, The Hundred Line, and the Romancing Saga 2 remake. It looks like I have to save up and earn more money then. But if I were tight on my budget, 2 games I would definerlty pick up from the direct are the Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake and The Hundred Line. I am trying to reduce in spending money because I am also planning on buying 4 games that are either coming out this year or have already released and these include Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, Tsukihime remake, Monster Hunter Stories, and Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025. I will still be buying Pawapuro 2024-2025 even though it will be Japan-exclusive until Konami further states otherwise. Yeah it will happen, when hell freezes over. The Switch has so many great games that my budget can't keep up with some of the new releases coming out, even if its only in 2 or 3 genres.
DK Country Returns on Switch. Just too bad it's not a brand new DK. Right now, I'm at the final act of Cold Steel 4. After that I think I'm going to take a break because it's taken over 140 hours just to get to this point. A little spent
Forgot to mention, few more games I would recommend to you that would be perfect to play during the summer are Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlett (takes place at a beach), Seven Pirates H (the game takes place at a beach as well, but has cute anime girls fighting monsters), some of the Koei Tecmo/Gust games (their vibes fit well with the summer weather and breeza) Omega Labyrinth Life, Monster Hunter Stories remaster, and Planetarian: Dream of Little Star & Snow Globe. I think Dead or Alive 3: Xtreme Scarlett and Seven Pirates H are the best picks out of all of my recommendations list considering the fact that they both take place at the beach and give off a summer vibe. Their music does as well (Seven Pirates (couldn't find any OST tracks of Xtreme 3): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MPTjo1ivfXs.html) If you haven't played them or check them out already, please do so and take into consideration my list of recommendations as well.
@@femtrooper Me too! So relaxing with a lot of cute and super hot Japanese (and not so Japanese) girls and women to date with hot and cute and bikinis! I always wanted that game and have some sort little waifus for my collection! And speaking of that, do you think Dragon Quest I&II HD 2D and The Hundred Line will get Switch 2 versions? Because both games are releasing the same year as the Switch 2, it would be reasonable to release them on more powerful hardware in addition to the original Switch (in the same way there are PS4 and PS5 versions, with the PS4 version being upgradeable to the PS5 version, just to use as an example) and would greatly be helpful towards the transition to next generation hardware.
That you not trying until you finally played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 comment is an issue I have had with indecisive people online for some time now. At the end of the day, you won't know something until you actually try it. Yet people on Reddit especially just love to ask, "should play or buy x?" And it's like what are some randos online guessing your tastes really going to accomplish? JUST PLAY THE GAME, if it interests you then you might as well try it for yourself, people online are either kids or don't experience much media at all and would rather talk on social media instead of trying stuff.
I don't play by seasons, but I would choose animal crossing new horizon or a pokemon game, If I had to define summer games :) New Horizon because it is on an island and I like to restart the game, so there is a lot of camping involved. Pokemon because I used to watch my cousin play gen 1 and sometimes we even played outside imagine we where pokemon.
@@femtrooper we actually never played trainers, it was always pokemon themselves XD I remember climbing a tree because I was a Pidgeotto and I had to go to my nest XD It was so fun
