Why, because of a pass interference that didn't get called? How about the facemask that happened to the Rams the drive before and it wasn't called or the stupid play calls when they could have forced the Rams to use all there timeouts........
News Now Carolina the pass interference did make the saints lose but the rams did play really well to get there they did deserve it I’m a saints fan and I can at least say that
Idk bout the 2011 Giants. Yes their record was poor, but they ran the table against some really good teams. It's not about "deserving" to be there, it's about earning it. No one deserves anything in sports. It HAS to be earned, that's the whole reason for playing the sport.
Agreed, the Giants' 9-7 record is deceptive because they had a tough schedule against some very good teams (some of whom they later beat in the playoffs).
They got LUCKY!!!!!!!! And I will take that to my grave. If Miles Austin catches that pass, giants lose to the cowboys. If Wes Welker catches the 3rd down pass in the super bowl, game over patriots win. Giants got lucky. End of story.
Arirezz 1. Yes it happened years ago, but it costed the Raiders the chance to move on in the playoffs. 2. This video is a list about teams that didn’t deserve to go to the Super Bowl and the Pats didn’t deserve to go because of the horrible officiating. The rule was scraped because of this game so thus the Patriots would have turned the ball over and the Raiders could have ran it a couple times which would run the clock and depending on how the good the runs, could have got in field goal range or score a td to make the lead greater and secure the win. So if the play call was correct, the Raiders would have a 95% chance of winning the game. So yeah the game was a long time ago, but this is a video about teams that shouldn’t have went to the Super Bowl.
Keith Nowak hilarious. I hope you fools ain’t grown ass men crying and bitching about damn football games. I’m a big football fan but crying about the games is a little over the top. You dudes gotta go get laid
Indeed. They shouldn't have been there. And the BS call didn't even lead to a good super bowl, either. Saints v Patriots would have been a much better game than the 13-3 snoozefest.
@@notottomedic I'm neither a Rams or Saints fan however I think that missed call was bad however it dosent mean the rams didnt deserve to be in the superbowl. Like the Saints had plenty of missed calls in that game.
There isn’t 5 reasons why Eli won’t! Inconsistency? Sure but there are many HOFers that were inconsistent like Brett Favre. Interceptions? He’s not even in the top 20 for all time INT so people just give him a bad rep. Also if u look at that list names like Peyton Manning and again Favre r there plus countless other legends. Eli Manning has a true legend story and let me tell u he’s about to put the finishing touches on his incredible career 🔥
@@giovanniferme4664 agreed. Eli won with worse teams than the other qbs you mentioned lost with. That 2011 season was Eli at his peak, really top 5 that year. He's also played for the giants who really haven't helped him recently, and he's still got pretty good numbers on a mediocre team. I love Eli and will be sad when he retires. He'll be hard to replace

Devon Verbitsky bruh the saints had so many chances to win that game in the second half and no one gives credit to Zuerlein for making clutch field goals. Saints choked and that’s just facts, the bad call was just the cherry on top
Kendawg bc the saints would have won if it wasn’t for that call doesn’t matter at all they made mistakes but the saints would of won that game 100% and the Super Bowl sucked bc the rams new they didn’t belong
Rusty Clamps did you even watch that super bowl dumbass? The rams had 2 dropped passes in the endzone. If they catch those it’s a totally different game. Same as if the saints score early in the second half of the NFC championship game but the couldn’t get anything going. To say that the Saints belonged more than the rams is so stupid obviously a surface level observation
Kendawg you made yourself look like an idiot with both of your comments. You hate on the saints for not playing better and having multiple chances to win but yet neglect the fact that you just said the rams had many chances to win in the super bowl and didn’t 🤔 how’s being a mediocre team feel?
Homefield advantage means a lot though. A 5-11 team "Can" upset a 11-5 team in the playoffs just because they have homefield advantage. And as was explained in the video, some of those teams had garbage divisions to make the playoffs.
Honorable mention: 1985 New England Patriots They had no chance against the Bears in Super Bowl XX. Had the Dolphins beat them in the AFC Championship instead, it would have been a much better Super Bowl, especially with Dan Marino vs the 46 defense
Especially given that the only team to beat the Bears that year were Marino's Dolphins. The Dolphins also won the AFC East that year, with the Pats and Jets taking the wild card slots. I'm a Pats fan (UK based, the 1985 season was the first full season I watched), and I can't disagree with that one. The 2006 Bears should be on the list, if only because of Rex Grossman - possibly the worst starting QB to ever play in a Superbowl...
Miami beat the Bears in the regular season that year, but I'm not so sure they win the rematch. They got obliterated by a 49ers team the year before with a very solid, but not AS good of defense as the 85 Bears. I'm not so sure that game is closer than 31-17.
The team I feel had the best chance vs the Bears are the Raiders. Miami would've laid an egg vs New England imagine how poorly they'd play vs Chicago a 2nd time. The Raiders would not of let Chicago score 46 on that defense. Anyway Bears would've beaten whoever that year
#3 2018 New England Patriots as well all those other playoff games where they got questionable calls in their favor against superior teams, not to mention any playoff games won while they were blatantly cheating.
2003 Panthers, that's a no-brainer. One he actually got right. They didn't call them the Cardiac Cats for nothing because they won a lot of close games that could've easily went against them. The epitome of the difference between reaching the big one and not even making the playoffs.
How bout the 2006 Colts? Worst run defense of any Super Bowl champion? Not to mention they were one unlucky interception away (when the Colts receiver was surrounded by 3 Patriots defenders and the ball bobbled) from losing the AFC championship game.
7:44 Atlanta's strategy at Minnesota was to stay within 10 points, knowing that the Vikings had relied on blowing out opponents early and coasting home. Anderson missed in part because he hadn't attempted a pressure kick in about a year.
There were a number of very bad pass interference non-calls on Randy Moss. Atlanta was holding him the entire game and it was never called. There were also a couple of completed passes that were called incomplete with Chris Carter. A lot of people in MN believed the refs were bought off. Anderson was knocked down on the missed kick attempt and it wasn't called. Should have been roughing the kicker.
The 99 Titans totally deserved to be there. The Bills messed up by not starting Flutie. The also beat a young Peyton Manning in the 2nd round. Finally, they beat a 14-2 Jacksonville Jaguars team. They were also one of 3 teams to beat the Rams during the regular season.
Bills fan here. I said during the pre-game that the team who won that game would win the Super Bowl. Even though they got the call on Home Run Forward Pass, they deserved to be there.
@Harry Engel that was my opinion. The Bills led in a number of defencive categories I used to track. like yards per drive. I felt that they matched up very well against everyone else in the playoffs because of that. Also, Wade Phillips made an enormous psychological mistake. Everyone knew it might be the end of Thomas, Reed, and Smith in Buffalo. What better way to rally the troops than to have the first play from scrimmage to be a counter from Thurman right over Jevon Kearse ... followed by Andre running his underneath route from the slot right behind Kearse. Run the plays the elder statesmen were known for in their youth to remind everyone to give that extra little bit because they deserved one last shot in the SB.
@@buxeessingh2571 the bills would not have went to Jacksonville won, Tennessee matched up well with the jaguars. I don't think Buffalo would've beat Jacksonville.
This guy makes it sound like no one deserved to make it to the SB. I guess the term "any given Sunday" doesnt apply to the game..........except it does. Anything can happen, and anyone can win any given Sunday.
This dude said the 99 Titans LMAOOOOOO. Forget they DESTROYED Manning and the 14-2 Jags on the way to the Super bowl. They were the only team to beat the jags that year (3 times) you know how hard it is to beat a nfl team 3 times in one year? Especially when it's the best team in the NFL? But no, you're right. They didn't deserve to go over ONE play that they have literally proven was backwards. This guy HAS to be a Bills fan LMAO. This whole channel should be thrown out after putting McNair's picture up when he said most undeserving.
Spade I still say that’s one of the more impressive feats in NFL history... the 1999 jags went 14-2 (#1 AFC seed) and lost in the AFC title game... both regular season losses and playoff loss was too the titans... in other words, if not for the titans, we’re talking a potential perfect season (half joking)
NFL overtime rules today are better than what they were. In playoffs, the other team should get a chance to score a TD to even it up and send it to sudden death.
Be honest, if the Chiefs had won the toss and got a TD in Overtime, nobody would bat an eye at the overtime rules. Only because the Patriots won do people get salty.
Uhhh....85 Patriots anyone? Dolphins were the only team to beat the Bears in 85 and I wanted revenge even as a little kid. As soon as New England sloppily won the AFC Championship game, I knew the Bears were gonna be Super Bowl 20 champs without a fight
Alice In Chains played at halftime. It was destiny the Seahawks won. Fate the Packers lost. The best band ever plays at halftime and Alice is from Seattle…it would of been the end of the world for any team other then the Seahawks to win and ruin a perfect moment in time.
You need to look closer at the Titans win at the end of that game. It's based on where the ball left the throwers hand and where the ball ended up. It has been examined and re-examined, it was a legal backwards pass. That one was Total Pro Sports' bad call.
I'm no ref of course, but from carefully looking at the pass from my take, it looks like a parallel pass at best. I honestly believe to this day the refs made the right call and let the play go. I think it's one of those loophole rules that not only befuddled the refs, but everyone. I don't think anyone ever saw a scenario like that. There was nothing against anything indicating a parallel pass was illegal. The pass overall did not look forward. It was a good gutsy play call by the Titans.
The reason it looks like a forward pass was Wycheck threw it sidearm and Dyson caught the ball behind so it gives illusion of forward pass. If you watch the ball it does go very slightly backward.
The Music City Miracle was NOT controversial. People who think that was a bad call don’t know the rules. The ball was caught about a foot behind where it was thrown. Plan and simple, it was a legal lateral.
I can’t agree with this Bc if you make it to the super bowl, you deserve to be there. You could be a wild card team, but you’ve gotten there, unlike 30 other teams. So they played their cards right🤷🏼♂️
What about the 85 Patriots. How is the '99 Titans your number #1??? That's ridiculous when you're allowing one "NON-Controversial" call be your main reasoning. That team went 13-3 & even handed the undefeated Rams their 1st loss in the regular season not to mention they swept the Jaguars not only in the regular season but beat them in the post season. That Jaguars team was 14-2 & only lost to the Titans all year.
So.....the Giants caught a break with the Cowboys game sure...but.... they beat them in Week 17...and they beat 15-1 Green Bay. And the one Williams fumble was stripped. Wasn't really all that "lucky". The Cardinals got "lucky" they got homefield.....they still won though? The defender knocked the ball out of Evans hand, wasn't really a drop. And a field goal would of just tied it anyways. Buffalo should of stopped the Titans Miracle play then. It was also proved it was a backwards pass. The Panthers weren't a good team, but they got it rolling in the Playoffs, even beating the Rams. So, what, a bad day from the Eagles makes them Lucky?? These are pretty underwhelming for claiming 'THEY DIDNT DESERVE IT"
+Leroi Jacksonville Don't jump to conclusions. The GIANTS (unlike the Saints) never lost a Conference Championship Game. Didn't the Saints recently lose their Conference Championship Game just last week?? Plus, the playoffs are different than regular season. Examples: The Packers & Cowboys beat the GIANTS BADLY in the 2007 regular season, but both the Cowboys & the Packers lost to the GIANTS in the Post Season where it counted and earned a Lombardi.
I stopped watching after 2011 Giants.....the first one. That team had to win 3 of last 4 and the Cowboys twice to get in.....They also beat a 15-1 Packers at Lambeau and 13-3 49ers at Candlestick. They definitely deserved to be there
@@timmoschello1452 If you think about it like the time Patriots blew out the Buffalo Bills, eh, I am pleading the 5th down :P For Pats fans, it was a wonderful experience, but I can imagine Bills fans filing assault charges. Does Buffalo deserve that kind of treatment? Probably not, but the bad luck just kept on piling on for them, every time.
@@untilthewheelsfalloff1751 they've literally proven it was backwards. You know, with fancy science and stuff. But i'll allow to continue you're life of arguing and being profoundly wrong. Lord knows the Bills haven't had anything to argue about since then.
The rams deserved to kinda go to the playoffs they got a ass qb great Defence they had a easy schedule they shouldn't never passed the NFC champion ship saints probably woulda scored
@Harry Engel your acting like the controversial call was the only call missed there was a missed PI on saints 3rd down in the second quarter cost them a drive also in the 4th quarter that controversial call and also the pic in OT the d linemen had his hand in Brees is facemask and not only that that interception in OT was a PI lmao but ok buddy and I'll admit there was a missed call on Goff but same with Brees so before you try to stick up for your trash team that was handed the win make sure you know what your talking about
I agree all the bad calls with the pats but then the rams vs saints that was just crazy so definitely the rams and maybe the pats could break the top ten because the giants not the titans should be on the list
@@lucasbolinger7239 Yah it is but they do deserve it if there starting Quarterback can have a bad game and have the rest of the team carry them which is why it is a team sport and then come back, make it go to overtime, and win.
Yeah that game was heartbreaking. I remember bostwick got death threats after that game. That game, the fail mary game(and i just don't like pete Carroll and Wilson) is why I don't like the the Seahawks.
1976 Oakland Raiders. Roughing the passer on a 3rd and 18 incomplete pass against the Patriots and the Steelers with both running backs out. Totally undeserved.
People just don't know. Saying the pats don't deserve it cause Brady knows win to win. Is like saying Peyton should have went cause his regular season. But Peyton always lost when it mattered Brady is in his 10th championship.
They missed a face mask the drive before the infamous no call that would have put the ball 1st and goal at the 1 instead they had to settle for a field goal dumbass
@@braydenborrell true, if that penalty was called, it could've ended in 7 points pretty easily & a 10 point game with not much time. Go patriots in the Superbowl & go Seahawks next year. Who's your team ?
"A true deserving AFC champion doesn't rely on a controversial call from the refs to get there". So then where the hell are the 2001-2002 Patriots on this list???
@@JRD-uf6ns Except I don't believe Brady was actually tucking it back into his body. And you can't argue that it wasn't a controversial call, which goes along with the quote I put in my comment.
@@JRD-uf6ns Except for the fact that it was an overrule fumble where you can actually see Brady put both hands on the ball just before Woodson hit him and cause the fumble. That is a fumble but the NFL does not want to admit that they gave the Patriots a gift. To me the true champion should have been either the Rams, Steelers, or the Raiders.
He's listing critical mistakes specific plays and I'm sitting here like, that's why the fuckin game is played! Nothing is going to go perfect, especially when 22 guys are on the field in a physical game. Also he's listing opponents and records, and again I reiterate my point saying that's why the effin game is played! but for a video for controverstial calls would be better, i.e. the Tuck rule for OAK vs NE, or this past january's match up between New Orleans vs LA Rams. winning on those kinds of calls makes for a head scratcher.
Try again pal. The refs were trying to hand the game to the aints for 58 minutes. It was karma for that piece of shit coach being greedy, and blowing 2 double digit leads in the 2nd half. Rams fans petitioned to have the crew removed and aints fans called us crybabys and said we were afraid to lose. Now here we are aints fans crying like big babies
There's a video that demonstrates with lasers than it not a forward pass, plus it examines the pass from several different angles. IMO that was one of the better SBs ever played and Tennessee definitely deserved to be there.
I love how it was stated in this video that real super bowl champs don’t need a controversial call to make it there. Then why do people talk about the pats like they haven’t had multiple controversies
Stillborn Soul The Bert Emmanuel rule still haunts me to this day. That was a clean catch. Also, I think Tampa’s D would have negated the Pats dynasty. As far as the tuck rule, it’s a joke.
@Harry Engel '08 Cards and '11 Giants were worse if you just look at the regular season. '77 Broncos were the only SB team to score less than 20 points per game as well.
I am surprised that they didn’t include the 2005 Seahawks, they went 7-9, clinched the division, and went to the superbowl, even though they lost to the Steelers
What about the 1992 Buffalo Bills? If the Houston Oilers did not choke away a 35-3 3rd quarter lead in a wild card playoff game against the Bills, they never make it to Super Bowl 27
First of all...his name is pronounced "Duh-lome"...secondly, the Music City Miracle lateral was legit...its not where the player is standing, its where the ball is..if u follow the flight of the ball, it actually went a half yard behind where it was thrown from...which means not a forward pass.
The 2001 Patriots didn’t deserve to be there. They should’ve lost in the divisional round against the Raiders but the whole Tuck Rule bs. That was a fumble all day long
@@WeShowYou Actually the only one I disagreed with was the 2011. The others the Pats shouldn't have been there. Their defenses at those times sucked horribly. I still don't Get why the 86 pats aren't on this list :P BTW I'm a Pats fan :)
11:09 if you look really closely where he releases the ball is a foot or so in front of the 25 yard line and where the ball is when he picks it up it's only a few inches from the 25 yardline
Weeeeeeeak. Music city miracle has Ben proven to be a LEGAL play!!! If you would have done any research you would have known this. They were a great team that year and the next. Just really bad #1 on your list here guys, come on.
@@MikeyKaos716 The NFL itself had high-tech equipment analyze the play long after the fact which proved that it was a lateral, BUT there's also a replay angle on ABC's broadcast of the game that shows pretty decisively that it was indeed a lateral as well.
I'm sorry, but the Music City Miracle was not the Titans getting away with a forward pass. Lots of people analyzed that footage and concluded it was a lateral. The only reason it doesn't look like one at first is because the bodies of the two players aren't aligned. One is on the right side of the line, and the other is on the left side. But the ball itself travels parallel to the line and a little backwards from where it's thrown. If you've got other good reasons why the Titans shouldn't have made the Super Bowl, fine, I get that. But from everything I've seen and read, the Music City Miracle wasn't a forward pass. The Bills just refuse to let it go and accept they screwed up royally on that kickoff.
Also the passer was moving forward and the receiver moving backwards. At the moment the ball was thrown, had the receiver not had to move back it would've been a forward pass. But it wasn't.
@@julshunt64 why both teams I can understand the Rams but not the Patriots I mean everyone had doubted them that entire season and they proved everybody wrong for the 150th time in a row especially after taking out a very good 12-4 Chargers team (in historical fashion mind you I mean it was 35-7 at halftime) and the NFLs best offense their MVP QB when do that well against those kind of teams I applaud you for pulling off those kind of achievements the Saints just fell victim to one of the worst no calls I have ever seen in my life
